I needed to get from Glasgow Airport to a funeral in South Ayr and chose Airport Taxi Transfers – albeit at random as I am not local. I was met at the airport by Constantin who ferried me to the crematorium in Ayr. What a fabulous guy! We spent a large part of the journey discussing our individual lives and it even gave me the chance to practise my Italian as Constantin lived there for a couple of years. I hadn’t booked the return taxi as my visit to the funeral was a surprise for the family – I live almost 500 miles away in East Sussex – so I couldn’t ask the location of the wake without raising suspicion. Constantin advised me to call the office and book the return, then he ensured he picked up the job so we could continue our conversation! From booking to being collected, delivered, re-collected and re-delivered back to the airport, the entire process was a joy. You’ve tried the rest – now try the best !
