Once upon a time - people used to access all their car and home insurance products through brokers. Then they discovered that they could deal directly with the provider companies themselves - via the internet.
Later still, Meerkats and various others started up comparison sites for the consumers to cross-check what was on offer from different sources.
For better or worse, this will never happen in the area of Bridging Finance and the reason is that the loan products involved are so complicated and varied that they cannot be reduced to a direct-access, public website.
In this area, it takes an experienced specialist to navigate not only the initial choices but also the application process and most importantly of all, to bring the chosen application across the finishing line in a situation where time is often of the essence.
Late last year, I surveyed a number of the larger broker companies regarding my need for bridging finance in a complicated situation which involved three different properties.
