External accounts HDD failed, SERIOUS panic in the camp. Trawled the web, came up with R3, excellent reviews. So.. sent the disk of not expecting much, 5 days later, new disk returned, pretty well everything recovered and transferred to it. Big sigh of relief.
As a point of interest I am Mac based and expected that Time Machine automatically backed the external disk up. Not so! Unless you tell it to in preferences, a bit of an Apple drop off I think.
