Total waste of time yet again using Shiply. My first experience I needed a truck picking up from London area and bringing to North Yorkshire. The Haulier I chose (who subsequently had no feedback, but has to start somewhere) tried to con me and wanted full price up front. Shiply advise you do not do this, and that you only pay a deposit to them and pay the haulier upon receiving your item. In this case without the aid of Shiply, I found a local reputable haulage firm I know of to carry out the job. Though a couple of months later I checked the initial hauliers feedback only to find he had now had a feedback score of 6 (all negative, everyone saying that they had paid up front but never received their items) Lucky escape for me on that one. Second time I tried Shiply, I Listed items that were to collect (13 items in total, all part of one shipment with one collection and one drop off). Got numerous quotes coming in. At this point it all looked good. Then couriers started to lower their quotes for some reason. Sounds even better. Average quote started at around the £250 mark, then within an hour the same couriers had dropped their price several times, and quotes from the very same couriers were now coming in around the £60 to £70 mark. Sounds brilliant, so I accepted one at £63 and paid Shiply's deposit! The courier then emails me and tells me that there is no way they can no do it for that price, and it will now be £270. Sorry Shiply this way of doing business does not seem very professional to me, and I would now like a refund of yet another deposit please! Shiply I think you really need to vet these people who are representing you. When They are bad, you look bad!
