Unreliable I used Trustpilot to get information on a company (Erasmusu.com). The reviews seemed great and I finally decided to use their services. Turned out their services were terrible (actually it's just a big scam) and so I wrote my own review on Trustpilot. The first one got flagged and disappeared because the company themselves deemed it to use defamatory terms. So I rewrote another review trying to not do the same mistake and more soberly recounted my experience, just so the TrustpilotCompliance Team would then remove it because as they said: "we've been unable to verify the authenticity of it". But no one asked me before to verify the authenticity of my review. Also, I wrote almost a 2 page long, very detailed review of my experience, so this to me seems very strange as to why my review seemed disingenuous to them. After trying to contact them through their compliance mail system unsuccessfully multiple times, I decided to call them but there you can only get in touch with people that have apparently nothing to do with the reviews and the verification of those. It's very obviously just designed for the paying clients (aka the reviewed businesses). The businesses get all the rights and are able to flag and take down reviews left and right for no reason and get away with it. My review has been under verification for weeks now... so yeah companies themselves have a big influence on their ratings and thus these ratings are pointless!
