Stayed here just before Easter - were pleasantly surprised with how clean the site was but disappointed with the size of facilities on offer for the size of the site - the pool was jam packed by 10am on our 1st full day and freezing to boot (we had to get out earlier than we planned as my daughter’s lips were blue!) and the bar area downstairs isn’t that big so gets busy / noisy on days when it’s not nice enough to sit out although does have a great dog friendly area. Our major gripe was the vending machines directly outside of the soft play - having chosen Woolacombe Bay as a family holiday destination for our 4 and 5 year old we envisaged utilising the soft play a lot while there - what we didn’t bargain on was being asked every 30 seconds for money for the sweet vending machines which all children were using and which ruined it for us as it meant we avoided the soft play and travelled off site which defeated the object of choosing that park! At the age they are our children simply don’t understand why they can’t ‘have have have’ when other children are using the machines in front of them. We wouldn’t return on this basis but if this isn’t a problem for you then Woolacombe Bay is probably a good choice. Woolacombe beach is great but quite commercialised whereas Croyde and it’s lovely beach are simply the best!
