Nearly 50 years ago I purchased a Dachstein sweater from a local ski shop - It was a thick bullet-proof sweater and perfect for the snow and cold of the Pacific Northwest. I tried to find it for an upcoming winter trip to Iceland but, unfortunately somewhere along the line my original Dachstein had gone missing - after a bit of searching I found the Sweater Chalet and ordered another sweater. I was a bit skeptical as the original was such and amazing sweater BUT on arrival the new Dachstein was an EXACT duplicate of the sweater I revered from 50 years ago!!! I was stunned that this level of material and knitting still are available in this age of high-tech plastic outdoor gear. The Dachstein is an incomparable sweater - the heavy knit wool yarn retains the natural lanolin (great scent) which also helps protect and insulate the wearer in cold and wet conditions.
