I applied for the Home Depot Credit Card, was approved and then wanted to purchase a Washer and Dryer as a gift for my granddaughter and her family to be shipped to them.
I chose the units to purchase and then went to the Check Out. Completed each of the steps and when I attempted to choose the final step, your system declined the sale even though my credit was approved and covered the attempted purchase.
I called Customer Service who, Jose attempted to assist me and complete the order, still the order was declined. Jose, could not figure out what was wrong, so he created a case. He also offered in addition to the $100 discount for applying for the Home Depot Credit Card a $128 discount to cover the all the trouble and inconvenience of having to wait to complete the order.
The next day, I received an email from Home Depot advising me that the problem had been resolved and log back into my online account to complete the order! This I did and noticed the discount of the $128 was not applied to the the total pending sale.
I then called Customer Service. I explained why I was calling and they requested the Order number??? I tried to explain to your representative there was not Order Number, since the order could not be completed. Your CSR was very nasty demanding the order number and that there was nothing she could. I attempted over and over again to that I had a Case Number, she was not interested. She stated over and over and over that there was nothing she could do. I was now in debate with her and requested my call be elevated to a manager. She insisted again, nothing she could do. Finally she said she would transfer me! After being on hold for more then twenty minutes. I hung up!
Over the next twenty-four hours I called several times and explained myself a number of times. Each time nobody could explain why the order would not go through!!!!!! I was transferred to someone in your corporate office Major Appliances department and explained again the problem. I asked her if it was possible to use my Visa Credit Card but for Home Depot to apply the $100 credit and the $128 credit as promised. She said it was not! However, she offered a $100 credit if I used my Visa Card. I said what about the $128? She it was not possible without proof that I was offered this discount. Again, I told her to refer to the notes that each of your CSR told me was document in the system. She stated there was not notes in the system. She suggested I call CitiBank which she gave me the number.
I called CitiBank and told them I opened a new account and wanted to order a washer and dryer as a gift to be shipped. She stopped me at that point and explained that was the problem. Citibank does not allow a new credit card customer to ship an order to a different address for the first thirty days of opening the account.
The next day, I went to my local Home Depot Store at 7015 Arroyo Crossing, Las Vegas, NV 89113 and was assisted by Grant in your Appliance Dept. He was extremely helpful. He called customer service who verified with him the credit for $128 had an open ticket and was being applied as we spoke. However, he to was not able to complete the order due to the machines being shipped to a different address.
I was so upset and started searching for different retailer to purchase the machines from. However, I wanted to stay with Home Depot to have a major retailer standing behind the sale. I gave up on your CSR as it appeared they did not know what the store policy was!
I returned back to the store and requested to speak with the store manager. The general manager was not available but the next manager on duty was Luz. She came over and I explained to the issue. Right away she knew what the problem was! Thank you Aida/Customer service counter who called listed to me and understood and called Luz over. Luz and I walked over the Appliance Department who had Grant/Sales pull up my account and complete the sale applying both discounts as promised. I also, want to add that your CSR in the Corporate Office that could not find the notes promising the discounts was because the notes were being applied to phone number of my granddaughter on this sale.
After three days and much aggravation rising blood pressure resulting to many conversations with your CSR and not one offering a solution! Outstanding kudos To Luz, Grant and Aida at store # 3308. They are very valuable assets to your company. My continuing business with Home Depot is owed to them!
