The company was extremely rude to my elderly father, dropped the box in the middle of his driveway. He tried to explain to them that they were supposed to place it in his garage, even showed them the delivery instructions, and they told him to just ask for some money off and left. It was supposed to be delivered across the doorway or threshold.
I called Home Depot customer service to see if the delivery guys could come back and fix it, I was told they “submitted a ticket” and it was escalated to the highest level and not to call back for 24-48 hours, because there is nothing they can do until then.
Huge problem with this is that they trapped my dad’s car in the driveway when they left it in the middle of it, and prevented some critical water work from being completed and now my elderly parents are without water or a car and there is nothing more customer service can do about it.
The supervisor at customer service was absolutely terrible!! He was rude and talked over me the entire time, cut me off, and kept saying we just have to wait. The supervisor was no help at all and kept saying he was the only one who could help, there was no one above him and no way for me to talk to a different supervisor who would listen. After spending close to two hours total on the phone between the two phone calls he told me to call around and get estimates for a moving company to come move the tool box, and that they would look at reimbursement, but it wasn’t a guarantee. Why is that not something Home Depot could do to fix this situation??
Now I have to pay for an Uber to take them to a hotel so they have somewhere with running water, and a moving company out of pocket on top of the $1,500 tool box! All because Home Depot didn’t deliver the massive tool box (over 600lbs) correctly like they promised.
