We booked a package via Travelocity and insured it via AIG. The package included a roundtrip flight as well as a hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel was not reachable given the late arrival of our flight and the impossibility of reaching the last ferry on time. I emailed and called the hotel, Travelocity, and AIG, all of whom made many promises. After a full day of back and forth conversation trying to correct the problem, AIG said that they would be able to cover the claim. Upon my return and after yet another round of extremely poor/rude email and phone communications, they sent me a slew of legalese and concluded that they were unable to cover the hotel and process my refund. Please save yourself the time, money, and headache, and avoid AIG at all cost.

Not professional at all. No wonder why they got bad reviews But it’s only option on Expedia. They need to change insurance company. Waste time and money, I asked them to provide me a document of insurance for doing visa, because their document didn’t show all information. But they said they have no ability to do that. What a shame. If you have no ability, you should close down your company then.

I've been a customer of AIG for accident insurance since 2017, but my recent experience has been beyond disappointing. In the past year alone, the quality of service has plummeted to an all-time low. What used to be a prompt payout within 7 to 10 business days has turned into an agonizing wait of 30 to 45 business days. It's been nearly two months since I filed my claim, and I'm still waiting for reimbursement. Their excuse of being behind due to a supposed new system is nothing but a feeble attempt to cover up their inefficiency. It's infuriating to see them deducting premiums from my account without hesitation, yet they drag their feet when it's time to fulfill their end of the bargain. As someone who relies on timely payments for medical expenses, this delay has caused unnecessary stress and financial strain. AIG's lack of urgency and accountability is unacceptable. I strongly advise against entrusting your insurance needs to AIG. If I could rate them lower than one star, I would. Steer clear of this company unless you want to endure the same frustration and disappointment I've experienced.

I canceled my flight and was told that I would receive a check in the mail in 7-10 days that never came. They made me wait 21 days before they sending out a second check. I’m still waiting on the second check to come in the mail. They refuse to do direct deposits and insist that a paper check is the only way to issue out refunds. The check that I’m “getting” is less than half of the price that I paid for my flight. I requested a full refund 2 weeks ago and still haven’t had anyone follow up with me regarding it.

The worst insurance company in the world. Zero communication, I had to contact our national complaints ombudsman so they would contact me back. The internal review found major issues with their assessment and settlement and they were forced to begin the process again and pay what was owed. Do not ever use AIG

Don't wast your Money. I had to cancel my trip due to an extensive surgery and this company is unexceptable to deal with. I had to file the same paperwork over and over again and my emails were not answered. They were even unable to provide me with a Supervisors name, number or email. My claim of 2 inexpensive Airline tickets to Germany was declined because I received a partial voucher from the Flight company. Even after I followed their policy and signed a waiver that I would not use the voucher. Do not wast your hard earned money this company wants to keep your money not protect you.

I would leave less than one star if I could. I got insurance on a rent car. I listed myself and my husband under the insured people. When we rented the car we only put my husband down because he was going to drive. A rock hit the windshield and I filed a claim. They refuse to pay it because I am not also listed as a driver on the alamo policy. Why do I have to be listed as a driver if I did not drive. I am listed under the insured as a covered driver if I had ever decided to drive. When you are booking a whole package trip and it ask you to purchase car insurance say no and get the insurance at the rent car place when you pick the car up. I will never fall for this again. Thankfully I work for a retired lawyer so we are not going to stand for this.

In order to cancel the policy, I had to give a ton of contact information which I assume will be used to solicit new business and will be "shared" with other companies. Then I was told that it would take "ten business days" to cancel the policy. This company obviously never heard of technology, or they are purposely delaying for financial reasons.

dear insurance user, if you respect yourself, do not buy any travel or life insurance from AIG. bad customer service, even you provide all details and bills your expenses, they try to keep longer and never cover. really bad service, even the people in customer care does not know how to speak, they request non related details, however accident happened with me during my travel, i have injured my head, leg and hand. i have provided all expenses with bill and emergency doctors summary, which are necessary, but they asked me non related information cc of motorcycle? imagine you are troubled with accident and sent to emergency, could you able to have motorcycle cc? you are in shock.

Customer service is terrible, the online claim form doesn't work, then a customer service representative contacted me asking for additional information that wasn't even requested on the claim form that I submitted. They go out of their way to make the process difficult, probably hoping that people give up so that they dont have to pay out. I would HIGHLY recommend getting insurance directly from the car rental company because AIG is ridiculously difficult and unreliable.

The crookedest place around! Submitting a claim is a complete hassle and the requirements are nearly impossible. They are making so much money off not giving refunds. I cannot even believe these people can be in business. I had purchased airline tickets for my husband, my two children and me but had to cancel the trip to stay back to take my mom to some doctors appointments as she was diagnosed with some pretty major things like 3 days before we were to leave. They will NOT refund our money. They are asking for a doctors statement and medical certificate from the doctor. I explained that it is my mom and she is not allowing it and therefore i would have no access to it because of HIPPA and such. They don't care one bit. HEARTLESS THIEVES!

Unscrupulous Expedia Travel Car Insurance through AIG insurance I am writing to warn people about the unscrupulous Expedia Global Product Travel Insurance offered on its website when making a reservation for a car rental. It is far from hassle free, but appears to be a scam or at best an unprincipled business looking to avoid the coverage it advertises at time of enrolling in a car rental policy. When I tried to use the insurance to reimbursed me for a claim of £750 that I needed to pay myself to the car rental company directly at time of return for my car rental, the insurance provider affiliate with Expedia, AIG travel insurance, refused to cover me, claiming that the policy does not cover domestic trips unless it “is beyond 100 kilometres from your Home.” However, my 9-day trip was well beyond 100 kilometers (London to Dorset), for which I provided evidence of accommodation receipt in my name. They still have not responded but are dragging along and I have had to follow-up several times, which is very frustrating and time consuming, and far from the hassle-free service the insurance claims and is meant to be. What is concerning, unprincipled, and quite frankly pathetic, is that AIG uses deceptive marketing to mislead customers to purchase an insurance product for which a fundamental exclusion is not presented upfront, (even when other eligibility reminders are provided upfront), but buried in policy wording that needs to be separately read. This is fraudulent behavior on the part of any insurance company, and hence why caution consumers to avoid Expedia UK and AIG insurance products (https://www.aig.com/individual).
