Have taken 3 holidays with alfa. Yarmouth, exmouth and ilfracombe. All 3 were amazing. No complaints. Our driver trevor was a perfect host as he took us to all sorts of places and was very helpful and polite at all times. A great sense of humour just didnt share his sweets!

Disgraceful and dangerous feeder coach service, first and last time I will use Alfa. Service and attitude at Reading interchange was unprofessional and a complete shambles.

First time with Alpha and third for my mother. The hotel in Criceith very poor, cracked dirty windows, mattresses stored at the front of the hotel against a window. Food terrible, frozen produce. Lounge area scruffy and the hotel smells of damp. On our last day up at 6.30 am to leave suit case outside hotel door, breakfast not until 8am, coach doesn't leave until 9.30. We live 3 hours from Criceith however, it will 3pm before we arrive at Burton wood. Who organises the travel arrangements hasnt got a clue. Am afraid it will be my first and last trip with Alpha. Awful 😞

We went on an Alfa tour to the Isle of Wight Our journey back home was a nightmare we waited over an hour and half to board the birmingham bound feeder coach. at the hotel we had been told to check the list of coach numbers, which we did and as the number 7 was against Birmingham we put that onto our luggage.at Tamworth we had to hang about for over an hour and half before coach number 7 was finally shouted .and we could continue our jouney.after a while I received a strange call on my mobile asking me where abouts on our journey we were.on asking the driver we were told we were on the wrong coach and had to get off as it wasn’t going to Birmingham.although the driver had done a head count and didn’t say he had 3extra people on board when we set off.we were somewhere outside Tamworth.we are 80 yearold pensioners. 2 of which are disabled and have difficulty walking we had to catch a local bus to Birmingham where our luggage was going to be taken by coach.but that if we weren’t there they couldn’t wait for us We had no chance getting there on time so the luggage would go to Shrewsbury. when asked how and when we were going to receive our luggage they more or less said that it wasn’t their problem. I think that is disgraceful.we followed the information we were given and now have to find and pay someone to retrieve it we never trust or use this company again

Alfa traveller for over ten years. Firstly may i just say the grammer of some reviews on here is absolutely appalling.Alfa travel don't and never have professed to be 4 or 5 star accomodation. They cater for and older traveller yes true, however the hotels are not like nursing homes, because of covid restrictions things have had to be altered including, room service, meals and entertainment. That is the LAW they have had to follow. The Regina admittedly is an older establishment that needs a touch up but its value for money, very close to sea front staff are very helpful and issues usually resolved. We travelled on may 19th this year the meals breakfast was fine , evening meals ok we did have a repeat meat on menu two seperat nights but as we had only just come out of official lockdown on May 17th, it was probably not cost effective to have freezers full of food that may go to waste, also the companies where Alfa buy their produce will have been on lockdown too OR operating on reduce sales due to lack of business. Whilst I agree its totally unacceptable to have to stay in a building site, these hotels need to carry out essential repairs and try to redecorate at some point, this then prevents people complaining about the hotel needing to be redecorated. To complain about the hotels being for people of a certain age is quite disrespectful, they cater for any age i personally have stayed at the imperial at ilfracombe and a young family were staying through an Alfa booking. The company picks you up at local pickup cases loaded for you, taken to Burtonwood, cases off loaded and reloaded onto your main coach, driven to destination , cases off loaded brought to bedroom door, and same on return leave cases outside bedroom, Meals B N B board, excursions included, evening entertainment if you so use to join in, and apart from building site hotels obviously , i think that they offer value for money.People complain about the staff and language barriers, i wonder how they feel when housekeeping have to clean some rooms out after elderly visitors have left !!!!! need i say anymore.Alfa are not perfect but they try to ensure we enjoy our holidays for the majority of people they are very popular.

I travelled to the Hotel de Paris in Cromer with Alpha. Our feeder driver was fine but it took over 5 hours to get from Sussex to Reading. On arrival at the hotel we were told to go straight to dining room which was somewhat chaotic. Rooms were basic, staff poor and other coach drivers miserable. When we left we were told to put our suitcases outside our rooms on morning of departure by 7am. Boarded coach and after 12 hours finally got to my return stop. Then found out that my suitcase was not on board. Complained to hotel and they came back to say they couldn't find it. After several more complaints received a letter from HQ saying sorry it was missing. They admitted no duty of care or other advice. Lost new glasses, shaver, watch, along with clothes and shoes. My first and last time with this dreadful company. My only conclusion was that it was stolen by one of the staff as virtually all of the guests were elderly.

We feel we MUST complain about our last holiday with Alfa, Christmas at PORTHCAWL. Going down to Portcawl went well, really looking forward as we spent the previous year there. Christmas Dinner was not the same standard and the portions became smaller. Whatever happened. Anyway we still enjoyed are stay. The room was very nice. The journey home was something else. We spent a good two and half hours at Strensham Services on the M5, One hour for Lunch, One and half waiting outside in the car park for the third party coach to arrive, By the time we got on the coach everyone was very cold. At 14 30 we set of for Burtonwoob services, arrived around 17 00. Needless to say all the feeder coaches had gone. Told By the lady in charge, to get a coffee and come back in 20 minutes as she had booked some taxis, which we did. Waited on a very cold night for the taxi to arrive, 2 & a half hours later our taxi arrived to take us home. We where told we had to go to Runcorn first to drop off a fellow passenger, and then all the way back to Lytham. We had a disagreement with the lady in charge, and she decided to send us home in our own taxi, the man from Runcorn went with people going to Preston. Arrived home at 21 00 hours. Not happy. Since we arrived home both my husband and I have been ill, still to this day 9th Jan not fully recovered. This is not the first time we been disappointed, but it will be the last. I feel that because your customers are mostly elderly, they are not treated with the care and attention they deserve. Therefore after using your company for meny years, we have decided to go elsewhere. Very disappointed. Got home Setting off for our homeward journey we had to stop at a service

Our holiday to North Wales was advertised with an excursion to Portmerion and referred to on booking from a brochure edition Nov 2016-Dec 2017. It was booked in January (YA815) for a September departure. The excursion had been cancelled but no-one from the company informed us until we reached the hotel in Criccieth (the driver had mentioned the cancellation on the coach in Telford during a break). This is a major change and Alfa are in breach of contract by not notifying it's passengers and defy their own t&c. The reason for the cancellation is an annual music event which is held at this time regularly so no excuse. A substitute to a NT house and garden does not cut the mustard - the passengers are seniors but no way senile and smell a rat. To date no refund has been offered. The meals were of a reasonable standard but you didn't always get what you ordered. The service was chaotic like something from faulty towers.

Had a lovely recent holiday with Alfa travel , went to the Cliffe Norton Hotel in Tenby , a stones throw from the beach. Really enjoyed the holiday Hotel staff were lovely , food was really good and always piping hot. Bingo and an entertainer singing and telling a few jokes every night. Could not fault this Hotel and the holiday itself . We will definitely be booking again .

Just returned from the ilses of whight, staying at the shanklin hotel. The staff were fantastic nothing was any trouble, the reception guys who opened up the swimming pool for us at 7am in the morning always got a nice greeting. The rooms where always well serviced and clean maids where friendly and courteous, food was nice and a very good breakfast, our waitress was sharna who looked after us at mealtime she always had a smile even when she was very busy. This is our second time at the hotel and we where not dissapointed and will be returning next year. Our driver was john and was very knowledgable about areas of intrest and was always on hand to help.

We booked the hydro hotel at Llandudno. Departed on Sunday 7th August Coach transfer 1 hour wait at bowburn services. Long journey down just wanted to get to hotel but driver decided to stop at Colwyn bay were we only had one hour.chewed on arrival. The trips although could have been good but we were not given enough time to enjoy definitely needed better planning. We had booked 2 rooms with sea view which we had paid £80 per couple my room had scaffolding up Infront of window plus was we were refunded. The other couple had also paid the same but did not get a sea view so then had the hassle of moving room's. The food was appalling luke warm and in some cases ineadable Some of the menu choices had to be pre orders. Although why I don't know. Has what they labeled beef casserole on Tuesday was then served on Thursday has steak pie they just added a pie crust. On one night I orderd lasagne and it was served with the veg that everyone else had horrible. On the plus side the staff were lovely . Expected more from our alha coach holiday has it was recommended.

Coach from tamworth to tenby was extremely uncomfortable .cramped up, felt like a sardine in a tin not good for a 6hr journey. No ladies toilets in the cliffe norton hotel they were out of order all the duration of the stay. Watery disgusting tomato soup on last night. Short staffed. Showers in rooms were ridiculously small. Excursions were an absolute joke nowt open on arrival and nothing to do but sit and wait to go back to hotel. Good job the weather was fine

Stayed in the Cavendish Hotel in Exmouth. The hotel was very drab, dated and is in need of a total refurbishment. The furniture was old and basic. The wallpaper was discoloured and ripped with mould on windows. The bedding was stained with brown marks and some appeared to be spots of dried blood. Pillow smelt musty like sweaty socks. Twin room had two small single beds both with lamps positioned directly over our pillows so we constantly kept banging our heads. The rooms were very noisy and overlooked the bins and laundry. We were told that we would of had to pay extra for a seaview. Housekeeping service was very poor, rooms weren't cleaned but just restocked minimal tea, coffee and milk. We were told they were short staffed and it definately shows! Night time entertainment of a singer and bingo was good but no daytime entertainment for poor weather. TV and Wifi had very poor reception and picture kept breaking up. The meals were satisfactory although they did run out of yorkshire puds with our roasts and the roast potatoes were the new potatoes which we had on previous meals that were roasted. Cabbage was replaced with sprouts without notice. (Sprouts with fish?) Ran out of fresh juice at breakfast then appeared to be watered down. Can't critise the waiters as they were always busy and hardworking, polite and apologetic about any complaints. The excursions were disappointing and no information on the sites and attractions. The coach driver wasn't very sociable and only spoke to inform us when to return to coach. Dropped us off at an Abbey in Darthmouth for two hours. Nowt all to see except spend money in cafe. Same as the other trips, no information given, no direction, just wonder around aimlessly, which was difficult as we had to push a wheelchair around because we weren't allowed to bring his electric scooter, even though it folded quite small. In the end he didn't want to come out on excursions because it was becoming a burden rather than an enjoyable experience. Teighmouth pier was closed off. Is that all Devon/Dartmoor have to offer? So glad to be home and will not be travelling with Alfa Travel in the future. It was our first and our last!

Have been with Alfa before and was well looked after. Drivers were always friendly and talked you through history of areas driven through, keeping the travelling interesting Our trip this time to St Ives was only blighted by hotel but covid has got to take some of blame. The service by Alfa staff and the driver Kevin were first class, professional friendly and really helpful. This made the holiday worthwhile. The trips out were very well received. The time spent on the coach was to be expected and Kevin deserves a medal for dealing with all the traffic issues. Feed back to Alfa is necessary to help them deal with issues but some comments omit to show a balanced experience considering what the country is still dealing with. Now saving for next journey thank you Alfa and Kevin
