My brand new electric cooker had a dent in and the bang was so hard it took the enamel off. I had to send an image and then phone them back. They offered me compensation to keep the appliance. Seeing as the enamel was damaged I said no. So they agreed to swap for a new one. However I had paid for fitting and recycling. Therefore my old cooker was gone. I could only have it swapped if it was NOT used. I'm a single dad with a 14yr old daughter who needed to be fed. I explained this and they insisted the appliance must not be used. Therefore I was forced to accept £50 compensation and keep the appliance. Simple disgraceful. I will never use again and will ensure I advice other not to either

Absolutely disastrous service. Will never use ao.com again. Partially installed new washing machine into our home and left, with us none the wiser. Used the machine for the first time, and it jumped around like crazy; damaging our kitchen floor, crashing into other appliances and shaking our work surface and appliances on top. Had to call a plumber out late at night - the installation men didn't take out the transit bolts! They'd left the bolts in the machine, which has now damaged the machine due to us using it. We also had a leak due to their negligence. Ao.com only gave us £20 as an apology. Disgusting. Stay clear of their service. Their installation men need to be re-trained!

I’d paid for my old appliance to be removed but the delivery driver refused to take it (even just to the outside of the property) due to the style of the old appliance not being like for like with the new one. I was not informed this could be an issue when I booked removal online, or during the pre delivery customer service phone call. I therefore couldn’t accept delivery of my new appliance and have been left without a working fridge freezer. Very disappointed.

This would be a zero if the option was possible, or even negative numbers. Great ordering and delivery (although the harassment technique post sales for their insurance is not good and they try to trick you into agreeing for it which is not appropriate for some callers who may not realise this tactic and agree then be charged without appropriate informed consent. However, it is if a problem arises with a faulty product, their customer service is a fight, very poor and does not understand consumer law. Disgusted with their unreasonable delays and lengthy process. John Lewis really is the only option. Will never buy from AO again as a result.

I bought a dishwasher ( Hoover ) which since I had it find that there is no provision for small side plates or saucers. Cups and mugs come out with tea stains on them and also saucepans with a white ring around the inside of it. We have tried to get them to replace it but just passing the buck and saying let the manufacturer repair it. Sorry its a new machine they should replace it. I Don't recommend this company to purchase anything from and I certainly won't trade with them again. We are a disabled husband and wife and having to wash a lot of pots by hand this says a lot for this company . We normally trade with Curry's P C World never had a problem with these. Do no buy anything from this company. WTC

If I could award -10 stars I would - horrific customer service. Patronising & time wasting! Serious issue happens with a dangerously faulty item they are not interested. Papers will be! Bad luck! Items arrive faulty or damaged. 100s of phone calls when 1 would suffice. They have no clue! Avoid & go elsewhere. After you have purchased they keep asking you to review them despite ongoing issues! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!?

Impossible. Placed an order 8 weeks before moving - everything seemed fine. Sent a text saying they were cancelling the order, called them and the reason given was my billing address was different to the delivery address. I'm moving house, hence the need for a washing machine, fridge and dishwasher. Reordered online, kept asking me to call them. Didn't accept my card - same reason. Used my mum's card - they say the order didn't go through, Barclaycard said it did. Multiple phone calls - no items and a £700 charge on my card. Total waste of time.

A year ago I bought a fridge/freezer from ao.com. No complaints about that. But what happened this week totally eclipsed that. On Tuesday I was having a good morning when I received a call from someone who claimed he was from AO.COM. He talked about my purchase and then proceeded to offer a breakdown insurance policy to me. I explained that I didn't want the policy and I was OK with taking the risk. Everything was OK up to that point. Then his attitude took a turn for the worse. He wouldn't take no for an answer and started to question my thought processes in not taking out his breakdown cover, which he insisted was not breakdown insurance at all. He just wouldn't take no for an answer and kept coming back at me. Eventually I had to hang up as I didn't want to listen any longer to what I consider to be a very rude young man. I put a complaint into AO.COM and got a replay apologising that my feelings had been hurt - not for any pressure tactics. I was also informed that AO.COM actually train these people to make these calls and that they were very happy with their insurance product. They said they would listen to the call and give this telesales rep some more training if necessary. I've heard nothing from them since. I'm very disappointed with the rude uninvited call. And with the weak response I've received to my complaint

New customer looking to place a decent sized order but need to discuss before purchase. Sent an email to their CS 7 days ago asking for some some to contact me had several emails saying they would but to no avail. Final called and I was bathing my one year old asked if they could call back and still waiting two days later. I hope they don't treat people who have spent good money with them.

Ao used to be a very good company to buy from. I have purchased several items and always been satisfied. NOT NOW. Absolutely unreliable. Cooker was to be delivered between 7-11am. Time changed several times until delivery due at 1pm. Poor customer service not helpful suggested that they deliver another day so I could waste another day waiting for them to not turn up. Also pestered to buy insurance - the hard sell. Cancelled order. Will never buy from this company again. They have forgotten how to treat customers. TAKE MY ADVISE SHOP ELSEWHERE

Total nightmare from start to... well never got product. Problem with order.. took 4 attempts to place order.. promised delivery on 5th July, got email order confirmation of that.. since then nothing! loads of phones calls later nothing, just lots of untruths (lies), now its the 9th July, missed my daughters birthday, so she never got her present, thanks a lot AO. Still no news, how are these people in business?

Complete agreement with Jean Baxter - faulty Hotpoint product reported within 3 months. Forced to accept service visit. Failed again within 3 months. AO.COM will not help.

I have bought fridge freezers from ao.com twice in a row. On both occasions, the fridge freezers conked out within 3 years - NEVER AGAIN!!!

Absolutely shocking customer service. Sell faulty potentially dangerous item and rather than replace mess you around with hours long time slots from the manufacturers engineer. You do not buy brand new goods to have to put up with this! Will never be buying from them again. Still haven’t sorted faulty item!!!!

Ordered on Sunday. Delivery scheduled on Tuesday, morning slot 7am-12pm. Delivery arrived just before 12pm and they refused to deliver fridge freezer into the property as safety gate for kids on the top of the stairs was not taken off. My husband was trying to take off the gate quickly and half of the gate was off when delivery gentlemen decided to leave without leaving the new fridge freezer with the comment from one of the drivers that "Time is money!". Apparently they have 10 min slot to deliver item and to take old one.... No comment! My husband was left with half gate off hanging on two bottom screws... I arrived home ten minutes after as I went out to bring a cake for my son's 1st birthday tomorrow, not knowing that fridge freezer is not going to be delivered today and that destiny of that cake is going to be uncertain. I called them strait away to ask to try to bring fridge today as my husband took off security gate and their answer was that is not possible. I mean, I live in zone 3 in London, how far you could get in literary 10 min that you can't turn back. I would not complain if it was any other appliance, but fridge is essential specially when you have two small kids, and reason for choosing ao.com was because quick delivery. How bad judgement, how bad choice, now I see. No correct customer service, wrong drivers attitude. Apparently they will deliver tomorrow morning. Until then my dinning room and kitchen look like storage as we had to pack hallway and stairs staff away. Let us prepare for son's 1st Birthday now. So awful and disappointing from you ao.com. Will avoid you in a future in a large diameter.

Would have given 0 stars but no option for that Placed order for washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave Payment was taken delivery date given Date came nothing delivered Phoned Ao told order had been cancelled money returned to bank next day Reordered items but this time charged 5 tines the amount all in pending changes with bank Order cancelled again Now been waiting 5 days for money to go back into account In mean time orders items from CURRYS no problem items delivered Today AO. Try’d to deliver items even though cancelled!! Rang AO they can not understand why items have been delivered when they them selfs cancelled the order AO GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER TAKE A LOOK AT CURRYS EXCELLENT SERVICE UNLIKE AO AO DISGUSTING SERVICE DONT USE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE MESSED ABOUT AND CHARGED 4 or 5 TIMES FOR ITEMS

If I could give it a minus score I would. Having already paid for a TV and washing machine (£968), and someone waiting in all day for delivery, the items did not arrive. On contacting AO, I was told there was a security issue, and they could not send the items. No email/text or phone call to say anything was wrong, and no money back for 3 to 5 days (they said I would have to wait, they can't help me), (funny how quickly they actually took the money) So now I will have to wait a week before I can get anything sorted. They staff were nice, the system is S***.

My Samsung appliance didn’t arrive even though I had paid for delivery between 12 and 5 no call from ao to say delivery was not even coming although Webb site kept saying don’t worry your item is next to be delivered. This went on till 7.30 in the evening (meaning I missed an evening wedding reception) when the Webb site completely took the delivery off the internet. Couldn’t get through to their call centre and when I did was promised a call back but this never happened. In the morning tried to ring them but wasn’t able to get through until I pretended to be a new customer, very very poor service would never use again. Have no fridge now having to rely on neighbour but ironically she was going to buy exact product from ao but guess what she has changed her mind.

I ordered washing machine and fridge from ao.com from the moment a placed my order and paid for it the phone call started about selling insurance and extra services from ao witch I never agreed to have this terrible experience and violation of mine privacy that was just a start of things that went wrong with ao. I started receiving text messages concerning mine delivery date and time. First message was that the delivery will be made around 8 am that was send to me around 11pm witch for me is lacking of good manners. Good taste and professionals services indicates that all phone calls concerning business should be made before 10pm. Second message send concerning delivery was stating time of delivery around 9am. On the day of actual delivery I received phone call at 7.20am informing me that delivery will be made in 10 minutes witch was not acceptable for me because is new property and I can not get to it in 10 minutes in rush hours traffic. Not to mentions very rude driver lacking basics manners. All experience shopping with ao was one of the worst I ever experienced. I would not recommend you use the company if you looking for smooth process. I already started informing family and friends about terrible experienced I received I would never use them again. Price is not everything sometimes is worth paying extra for polite professional service. I decided to cancel my order and to take my business elsewhere...
