Plants arrived half size of advertised and when I emailed was told this is policy and staff are told to send much smaller plants.

“Tree arrived 2 foot shorter than originally bought at price advertised when queried was told prices were increased so sent shorter tree!! I needed a tall tree I was advised couldn’t return so basically had to like it or lump it spent £34.00 on a tree I can’t use and it never survived the awful cling film wrap it was sent through the post with - Will not use this nursery again. NB they advertise on EBay as Beechwood Nurseries or online 3 fat pigs”
“I bought 10 alder saplings, 8 of which were dead. We are a farming family and know the difference between 'dormant' and 'dead'. The stems were shrivelled and brittle. On notifying the seller he said there was nothing wrong with them and refused to replace them or to refund saying they were backward because of the recent bad weather. We planted them carefully just in case he was right but as expected they were dead. I contacted him twice more including photos to request refund/replacement but got no response at all. I could forgive the seller for the condition of the plants, mistakes do happen, but his response is unforgivable. This seller is rude and arrogant. He sells substandard stock and takes no responsibility for it. Would advise everyone to take their custom elsewhere, there are plenty of good retailers out there. If in doubt just read the feedback on Ebay.”

“Bought a Wisteria last year (from eBay). Was in very poor condition when it arrived. Complained about it but seller never bothered to reply. Lo and behold, it is now completely lifeless. Very annoyed that the wisteria has died and very annoyed at the lack of any empathy from this company. Avoid”
“Bought 70no 120-150 beech hedges, bushy and well rooted. My issue is the largest plants I have received are 120cm. The majority are 110-120. The smallest bringing 100-110.
When I questioned at first, I was told I had planted them to deep.
And the second time I contacted they said the overall size includes the roots.
I have worked in the gardening and construction industry for over 30 years and I have never heard such nonsense. Plants are measured from ground.
I thought it was a genuine mistake, and it turns out they are just scam artists.

“SUB STANDARD PLANTS AND APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE. Really wish I had read these reviews before I bought from them. **** AVOID THIS COMPANY ***** I ordered 250 2ft to 3ft bare root hedging plants. Could not believe how small the parcel was when it arrived, on checking I found that 160 plants were less than 2ft tall, in fact 70 ish were only just over 1 ft. Emailed them with a complaint. Bear in mind these are plants that need dealing with quickly. No response after 3 days, so phoned twice, on 4th day a cursory email arrived from Robert. No apologies, no explanation, just a one liner saying if I wasn't happy I could send them back. I asked for a returns label, or I said I would be happy if they replaced the 160 that were too small. Another 4 days later I chased by phone, finally got a one line email saying exactly the same one line as before. Wish I had taken notice of the various review platforms before I ordered. “Terrible company. Wish I had seen all the bad reviews before ordering my Rowan tree. Contacted them for advice because new leaves coming out then shrivel and died. Sent photos and they initially said it looked dried out. My confidence in them dropped after I said garden was watered twice daily in warm weather and they then said it was too much water ???????
They had previously said it was a hungry tree and their website says to keep it moist.
Several messages back and forth, all very polite , so I asked for a replacement ( before I read bad reviews) and they just insisted we had over watered and then silence.
Do NOT believe their guarantee about wanting customers to be 100% happy.

I would advise anyone to avoid this company and buy from the many nurseries who will sell you quality products, give good aftercare and if something goes wrong, put it right !!!
I bought a bare root Quince tree via Ebay from this company, the tree arrived without any root protection and poorly packed. The tree was planted correctly, staked and kept damp. Spring came and went but the quince tree showed no sign of life. I contacted Beechwood to be told that it was due to the cold weather and not to worry. Sometime later I contacted them again, this time I was told they expected the tree to be in full leaf in 3 weeks. Nothing happened! Once again contacted Beechwood and sent photographs of the lifeless quince tree, they replied that there was green on the tree so it must be okay.
I have no idea what they were looking at as the pictures I sent was of a completely dead tree.
Have a look at other reviews as I am not alone with being supplied inferior products. DO NOT BUY FROM BEECHWOODTREES ON EBAY
Follow up - This further demonstrates the type of company you are dealing with. Note sent to me on the 10th July via Trustpilot. "You are a lying ..........." Unable to type the swear word as its inappropriate language.
I would also add that 3fatpigs will say that this is another fake review, check out their record on this review site and others, unlikely that multiple people take the trouble to write fake reviews. If the company acted in a responsible manor and put things right when they go wrong they wouldn't have such a bad rating and bad reviews.”

Ordered 10 beech plants. They sent me 10 dead sticks and refused to rectify the problem. No refund or replacements despite several emails and a letter to the directors - mostly ignored.
It speaks volumes about a company that would rather have a bad review than refund 22.99!

Happily I did not, they arrived well packaged, healthy and within 3 days of purchase... Can't fault them or the customer service... and will definately purchase from here again... “If I could give 0 stars I would. Ordered 100 hawthorn trees from them in April. Only 18 developed, the rest are dead. These were planted the day after delivery and all planted together. No reply when I contacted them. Complete waste of 75euro and waste of time. Never again.”
“Ordered A lilac tree from them on Ebay came as a thin 9" bare stalk in a 2L pot after nurturing for six weeks it grew strange leaves had it identified on Plant identification UK site by 93 members as a currant wrote back asking to be sent what I ordered advising of identification. Also that I had two mature lilac trees in the garden to compare the leaves to and it had spikey leaves that were thick not thin pale green spear shaped lilac leaves. They claimed they sent the other lilac trees which had been planted by the previous property owner in the mid 1980's. Their company was established in 1997. I repeatedly called over a week asking in voicemails to get a return call and made over 40 calls in a week most where the phone just rang out over the day. Emails are responded to on Ebay by Lenka who ignores requests to get a replacement and responds aggressively looking to blame rather than support the customer for the issues. I sent photos to illustrate the issue. She initially said I hadn't ordered from them. I sent her the order information from Ebay and advised her I was emailing on the Ebay page linked to the order. I wrote advising I had spoken to trading standards and was aware I had a period of up to 6 years to get a replacement item. I have spent 7 weeks on this and am relieved I have only lost £17.99. Avoid this company poor quality products and aggressive customer avoidant and dissmissive customer service.”
