“My daughter has taken two online courses with Blyth Academy because her school didn’t offer them and she needed them to further her education and help her to University applications. She has enjoyed very much the classes, the program is well organized, given the students the opportunity to work on their own time, but still manages to keep them organized and on track on their responsibilities with the classes.”

“My daughter registered for Blyth to complete her grade 12 English because the quadmester system online with the public school board did not work for her. (Too condensed and not well administered). The Blyth online English was well worth the cost. The course was well laid out, easy to follow, comprehensive with good supports and the teacher was responsive. As a result, my daughter was able to do very well which assisted her with admission to the university of her choice: Queens, concurrent education. I highly recommend BYlth online.”

“Teaching staff excellent and committed to student excellence. I give the staff 5 stars and the concept 5 stars. I gave a lower overall reading for the following issues: 1. Course description doesn’t always match the course content. This happened in context of a Grade 12 health class which required a minimum of 8 weeks of journalling. This was an issue for my child to get his in before the deadline. He was able to switch without financial penalty but he had already done about several days work when the deadline issue became apparent. I would give course descriptions a 4 star due to this one issue. 2. Had a lot of technical issues with proctoring exams and technical issues with the support related to it. Was quite disappointing to see my son experience the stress of the prep for the exam and the letdown caused the proctoring system failing. For his learning purposes it was a good life lesson. However I dont think Blythe responded well. I understand Blythe relies on that third party operating out of India. But Blythe didnt seem to know about the problem at the time and provided no information during the outage or after the outage. This happened during both his exam. Once he got a notice from a proctor that he was late but he couldn’t sign in. My son to email the third party about refunds. In the end we paid for more sessions and they didn’t fully refund us. Never took it up with Blythe as it was clear thar Blythe didn’t see it as their issue despite it being under the Blythe brand. (I give 2 stars) Face it, Blythe Online is a technology company and needs full-time technology staff during all hours that students are writing exams. You have to be the on the ball and responsive. Can’t outsource outside the brand. You need live people to respond to students who can’t access Blythe technology which includes Blythe exams supported by third parties. Overall 4 is a good rating and far above any rating I would give the TDSB or competitor online schools that my son accessed. So keep it up and improve your technology staff and you will do well for the student.”

“Disengaged teacher provided very little academic feedback, was non-responsive to student or parent emails, assignments went unmarked for months. Would not recommend taking online class with Blyth.”

“Pretty much satisfied by the way courses are presented/ explained to my daughter Sareena Shaukat Awan. The only improvement or change I am looking for is fee payment system which at times gets too complicated and have to try different ways/ links to be able to add funds for the courses.”

“Very poor response time if any response to problems my child was experiencing. As well booking the final exam was very difficult and time consuming. Plus my daughter had to contact Blythe numerous times in order to submit her mark to her school.”

“Blyth Academy Online is well structured and the online platform is pretty easy to work with. The only thing I could say is that you are pretty much left alone. You have to learn everything by yourself, and when you don't understand, the teachers send you more videos or exercises about the notions, that you have to do by yourself.”

“My child did not have a good experience with Blyth Online regarding the grade 12 Italian Course needed for graduation. Although all attempts were made by the student to communicate with the teacher, no one at Blyth Online advised us after weeks of emailing, that the teacher had quit. The second teacher hired only lasted a couple of weeks and also quit. I believe in the end it was the guidance counsellor or someone in administration who was grading the work. This put the student at a stressful disadvantage to complete the course on time for their graduation. I am thoroughly disappointed with how Blyth Academy as a whole let down the student and would not recommend them to anyone!”

“Our math tutor recommended Blyth Academy to us and we are so glad she did. This school was a great choice for my daughter. She was able to work online at her own pace, to achieve her grade 11 academic math credit, while still attending her regular high school classes. Like many students with learning disabilities, my daughter has high anxiety towards math. Thankfully, her experience with Blyth Academy was very positive. Her teacher and administration were very supportive, responsive, professional and accommodating. We wholeheartedly recommend Blyth Academy.”

“An overall disappointment. Teacher barely marked assignments and did not respond to any student communication and when asked for help. Zero feedback. .Zero student support and despite multiple requests to have someone (anyone) call me to discuss - I only received emails from the front office. An absolute waste of money, time and effort.”

“My daughter had a fantastic experience taking 12U Chemistry with Blyth Academy Online. The teacher, Mr. Patterson, was excellent, and the course was laid out beautifully with reasonable expectations and an amazingly quick turnaround from submission to grading. To add, the student services support was outstanding when it came to communicating with OUAC and getting everything in place for my daughter's university acceptance.”

“Blyth Academy provided the flexibility and support we were looking for to help my son complete his Grade 12 academic year. After a less-than-ideal experience at our local high school, he had to pivot and drop a course halfway through his last semester. The guidance and support we received to select a new course and to register promptly were extremely helpful. Grading and feedback was consistently completed in a timely manner, and his teacher was available for additional guidance throughout the timeframe.”

“The online teaching presence/support, class structure and any kind of initial one on one orientation/guidance were all woefully absent. My daughter had to self teach the entire course. She perservered and was able to understand the material and do well BUT the lack of online 'teacher' support made for an overall negative and stressful experience. If I were to mark Blythe on its online program/teaching quality— I would give them a D-”

“This is the worst education experience I’ve had in my whole life. I would not recommend for anyone to sign up to this private school. My friend Riley Torabi recommended the school for me and I regret signing up very much. Thank you for the worst year of education in my life. #blyth is horrible”
