“After some time evaluating the pros and cons of various different home security systems, I decided on Boundary as it seemed to be the most contemporary, easy to setup, and provides several options for service plans.
The buying process is assisted and customising the package of what you need is simple. Installation is really straightforward and the app is simple and easy to use. I am not one for reading instructions and didn't need to when setting up, although had I done so I might have found where the QR code is on the sensors instead of laboriously typing in long codes of digits as I had to for the first few sensors I setup.
I had a couple of nuances to deal with when setting up, and was staggered by the almost instant response from the support team with not only the answer to my issue but a couple of helpful pictures that showed exactly how to solve the problem.
Alarm has been up and running for weeks now, everyone in the house finds it easy to use and it's doing a fantastic job. Very pleased with”

“I followed Boundary from its beginning through kickstarter and bought a system fairly soon after launch.
I opted for the self-install (non-monitored service) which is straightforward, though needed to borrow a ladder to fit the outside siren!
There have been a few initial teething problems but the Boundary staff are super quick to respond and resolve everything – in fact I’ve had responses to support emails within minutes and on weekends. I hope this level of service stays as the company grows – as I’ve been an early adopter for other systems (e.g. tado) where this has tailed off dramatically as they have grown.
The actual alarm system and app are miles better than my previous alarm and most others I was looking at - that cost considerably more. Being able to control it via an app is useful and there are other useful features like monitoring movement (or lack of) in rooms during periods of time!
If I had one negative, it would be the requirement to plug in the control unit to a mains socket. This requirement is limiting to where it can be located and a bit untidy having a trailing cable to a socket - thought that can be made to look reasonable with a bit of effort! It would be good if there was an option for a mains hard-wired unit.
Overall for the money though, this is hard to beat and I would certainly recommend.”

Regarding the point on the wire, this is something we are looking into but in the meantime, with a little DIY skill the PSU cable can be extended. The socket is a USB-C style plug so you can pick up extensions for the cable and then take it through a stud wall to a hidden plug. This is actually what I've done in my home and it looks great but your point is indeed valid.

“I was part of the kickstarter group prior to release of the product. We purchased the full kit including the Siren. the product looks very premium and the Siren stands out in our street. The setup was very easy. The batteries in the PIR's and Door Sensors last a long time (over 6 months). The Siren battery has lasted well over a year.
The mobile app is brilliant as it allows you to remotely set and unset the system, get alerts when someone enters or disarms the alarm. You can also add users/family members too so they can manage the platform.
I have set up some simple IFTTT routines for when movement is detected and the system is armed.
I have also contacted the helpdesk on a few occasions with questions and initially a couple of anomalies and they have been very quick to respond.”

“I purchased on the 16th July because I felt the system & range of equipment was good also I had a discount. My existing wired system was failing. Time to update to a wi-fi system with a phone App & remote control.
The installation was not straight forward the wi-fi system is slow to react and is difficult to see what is happening with the sensor in real time. The tamper switch in each sensor was a problem and also the main panel tamper switch. They continually reported they were tampered witch became very frustrating after several attempts to fix the tamper the switch would disconnect from the main panel meaning you had to start re-allocation all over again. I had a particular problem releasing the door switch from the base just a screwdriver twist Ha, Ha. At this point I went on an 18 day holiday.
On my return with help from the technical department & reading all the instruction notes the system was working and has remain so to date.”
