ive been using brighthouse for about 12 years. never had any major probs with them. had a few bad repair jobs where they never even repaird the items before sending them back. but i was given replacement items when the repairs were not done. IE a PC packed up and they sent it in for repairs. they lost it somewhere and it toom them 8 weeks to find it cause someone forgot to sign it in when it arrived at the depot. when i got it back it still didnt work so the staff in the shop just took a brand new 1 off the shelf and gave it to me. then pixel started to die on my TV with only a few payments left on it. i was advised hy the satff not toi make anymore payments till its fixed. They came and took the TV away. bought it back 2 weeks later not fixed. so the shop replaced the TV with 1 they found in another shop as they stoped selling the TV i had but found a referbished 1 in another shop so went that out to me. That was wrong though as i had a new for old agreement so they sould of given me a brand new TV not referbished. Not happy with them now since they went into adminstration as they have put the cost up of the items i have from them. 1 item was £250. halfway through the agreement and now they say i still owe £505 on it. But ive had stuff from them before that cost less even with the interest than it would of cost buying it from curries. It was TV i had from them years ago. Cash price £799 with payments it was £1200. same TV in curries was £1499 cash £2500 on credit. Food procesor i bought from brighthouse £125 cash which is how i payed for it. all accesseris included. on Amazon the same 1 was £350 with no acceseroia plus £100 per accesory. the trick to keeping the payments down is pay it off faster. so when u make a payment pay 2 weeks instead of 1 so u get ahead on payments which pays it off faster giving lower interst rates and less on the extras like repairs and insurance. ive never gone the full agreement and usualy pay it off several months ahead. like now the bed i have is 6 months ahead of schedule on payments. But make sure u can afford the payments before taking out an agreement with them and set ur budget. Thats the mistake most make. they see something they want and get it without thinking if they can afford the payments or not. Thats not brighthouses fault its the fault of the customer who didnt bother to check to see if they can afford to keep up with payments.

Ive been a customer of brighthouse for about 10 years now. Never had any probs with them. Rarely late on payments but when i have been the staff in my local shop will ring me to let me know and ask when i can come in and pay. Usualy they dont add on the late payment fee if i can get in and pay within a week. I bought a new bed from them. It was faulty when they delivered it but as they didnt have anymore instock and dint know when they could replace it they left the new bed at my place till they could replace it and knocked a few weeks payments off it as a sorry. Bought a TV from them and pixels started to die within 6 months. They took it back to repair it. Still waiting for them to return the TV So dont know if they have repaired it or going to replace it with a brand new TV as the agrement says if they cant repair it within a set amount of days they will give me a brand new TV as its a new for old policy. Most case the stuff they sell is cheaper than other shops but with the extras and interest added on it will cost a bit more. In some cases even with the interest added some of their stuff is still cheaper than paying cash in other shops. IE a phillips food processor i got from them several years ago £125 with all the attachments. on amazon the same model was £300 with no attachements plus £100 for each attachement. Even with interest added the total cost was still only £200. A samsung 3D TV i got from them with interest was only £1400. Curry's was £1700 cash. The trick with brighthouse is never be late on payments and were possible pay more a week than the agreement so u pay less interest. Im usualy a few months ahead on payments so i end up paying less than i would if i just paid the minimum amount each week, .. IE my current TV i got on a 12 month agrement and im only 3 payments short of paying it off 4 months early so a lot less interest to pay plus all the other stuff like insurance and brigthouse cover for repairs. The faster u pay it off the less u end up paying. Customer service can be a bit hit and miss depending on the staff in the shop. Some r better than others. My local shop has very good customer service and very freindly staff. Always get asked if i want a cup of tea or coffee if i have to wait to make a payment if they r busy doing a new contract with other customers. Yes i did have problems a few years ago with bad staff and bad manager but when they sacked the manager and got in new freindly staff things improved a lot. Another local shop that has now closed down had bad staff and not very freindly. So the experiance u have will depend on how good the staff is at ur local shop. The owners of brighthouse listened to the complaints about them and fixed it by getting rid of the bad managers and staff and got in better staff. Reduced interest payments and made a lot of their products cheaper and now have a price match garuntee where they compare their prices with argos. They also give lower interest rates for customers who have been with them for a long time. So the interest u pay is based on how long u have been a customer for. New customers might pay 99% interest but older customers can pay about 49% interest which is what i pay. So if u stay a loyal customer long enough and keep up with payments ur interest rate will drop. The loyalty scheme recently started when a new CEO took over the comapany. They used to have a lot of bad reviews But they have been improving a lot over the years. But think most of the bad reviews were from customers who got behind on payments or just stopped paying and had the debt collectors come round to get the goods back that had not been paid for. The high interest rates is due to people not paying for what they bought and the cost of the losses get added to other customers. Most cases they will deliver the items u bought within 7 days. But sometimes they might be out of stock and have to wait a bit longer. But they will usualy check and see if the item is in stock before they do the agreement with u. With the bed i got from them it was out of stock so went on the waiting list. When it was in stock they rang me to let me know so i could go in and do the agreement. It was faulty when deliverd but they ran out of stock again so had to wait a few months for a replacement. When they deliver they not only bring the item in and put it in the room u want it in they will assemble it and check everything is ok before they leave and take the packaging away with them. Unlike other companies who just drop the items u bought on the doorstep and leave it upto the customer to get them inside and asemble. Thats how brighthouse knew the bed was faulty cause they asembled it and found the fault and made a note of it and let the shop know a replacement was needed as it couldnt be fixed. U can pay cash on all the items they sell or have it on installments if u cant afford cash. U might be surprised that some items r cheaper than other shops or online shops. Ive bought a few items from them for cash rather than payments as they were cheaper than anywhere else i looked. Ive never returned anything i bought from them so not sure how good they r on that. But i have upgraded some items i got from them which was easy. IE a TV i had that was still on payments i upgraded to a better TV. Just had to go in the shop do a new agreement and they took the old TV away when they delivered the new TV. They used to replace faulty items with a like for like system where if they couldnt repair an item they would replace it with another item of the same age and specifcations. IE a PC i had from them packed up and couldnt be repaird so they gave me another PC returned to the shop by another customer after they refurbished it. But now they do old for new replacments so if something goes wrong u will get a brand new item instead.

I have never missed a payment ever and have been with bright house for over 8 years. I have recently asked for a loan as you have started to implement them . Prior to my last payment I received a letter saying I was late for a payment. NEVER and it was a mistake made by store. I work full time and had to remind the store several times that payments will be made on the last working day of the month. Yet again I have been in today to see what is happening as I wanted the loan for my holiday and yet again even though the manager of the store said she would ring me NOT happened

Brighthouse bought my policy from Met Life. Met Life was amazing in every way. Brighthouse has the absolute worst customer service. Their reps at the call center are rude, short, and often times you can't understand them. The verification questions each time tou call are different, some claim they can't help you with things iver the phone thay you've recieved help over the phone with many times prior. If you ever change banks, trying to set up auto pay, or even just paying at all, is next to impossible. Unlike Met Life, they don't have offices tou can go to and get help. The customer service is non existent.

Not a fan of this agency. You are unable to speak to a company representative if you are experiencing tech or other difficulties. You can only reach this company by email and I truly feel they are just about profit. I wouldn’t recommend. If you are late for an appointment you are charge a $70 fee, no matter what unless you cancel 24 hrs in advance. No room for emergencies or unavoidable circumstances. I find that horrible….. just my humble opinion.

Tried to withdraw money from my annuity. It's been one month since I submitted the paperwork. I have called Brighthouse several times and they keep giving me the same lame excuse of "We are working on it." They offer no explanation of what the problem is or how they are working to correct it. I have a very bad feeling that my money is gone.

My mother paid thousands in premiums for a long term care policy with Brighthouse for about 25 years. She has been in a long term care facility for almost 3 years. Brighthouse is late with their payment nearly every month. Their policy reads that they will pay within 20 business days of receiving the invoice from the facility. This never happens. I have to call, get the runaround about expediting the payment, etc. They expected premium payments on time but do not hold up their end of the bargain with on time payment. I would not recommend this company to anyone

Customer service was helpful with basic information but anything beyond them is a complete failure. The only way to get rid of a company like this is to not do business with them. Hopefully they close up shop and stop torturing families.

This is been a horrible experience working with Brighthouse- Previously Met life. Started paperwork in February as beneficiary for my mom who paid into this company for yearssssss before passing. I found the form online to start- they told me they mailed the paperwork to start the process however I still to this day in April have not received that initial paperwork. Called a week after to be told they needed something else and I should have received paperwork in the mail (I did receive that...towards the end of march) However I already sent in what was needed since I made the phone call first week of march and was told they were waiting on something else. I did receive and email March 12th stating "your claim has been paid" and will receive payment details shortly (Never did) When I then called I was told they have everything needed and check was sent out March 12th- its now April 3, I have called multiple times and all they can tell me is "check has been sent out" wait 5-7 business days, then 7-10 then was told after 15 business days if I have not received they will send a new one. This is been a nightmare, nervous to have a new one sent "in case" it's in the mail however, I doubt it. When I asked for a tracking number they were not able to give me one but only reiterated that it was sent out 3/12. SO FRUSTRATING.

It's taking a long time to get my portion as a beneficiary. Apparently there are technical issues causing the delay in sending the payment. I have to keep following up. This is so frustrating. I hope to see an end to this soon.

My parents purchased long-term healthcare insurance policies in 1998 and paid their premiums twice a year for 22 years. At some point Travelers must have either sold the policies or something like that. Ever since November 2020 I have been dealing with Brighthouse on a very regular basis (at least once a month) regarding reimbursement for money already put out for care. The customer service experience has been absolutely horrendous. I have been told many pieces of erroneous information throughout my nightmare- ‘your parents’ policies don’t cover……’. ‘we don’t have the invoices for those dates’ (which is a crock of you know what- I end up telling customer service where to look to find the ‘missing’ invoices! On all of my paperwork It states that fifteen business days is the amount of time it takes to process claims from the day the care logs and invoices arrive. yet customer service always says twenty- and even that is not followed. they are breaking their own protocols. The stress and angst that come with the phone calls are awful. Recently they began to include surveys after service calls. but what happens is if you have had a rough conversation customer service agents disconnect you so you can’t complete the survey! If you wish to speak with a ‘senior claims representative’ you have to set up a twenty-four window appointment - and even then you may not get a phone call. I’ve kept my phone at my side with the ringer on many many times- and have had to conduct my business with them in public- in front of my students and also while driving. It’s appalling that this low level of customer service exists and never gets better. One star is a gift. Brighthouse you should be ashamed of how you operate your customer service. I am young, healthy, and extremely well versed in healthcare. Imagine folks who aren’t. Imagine folks who wait and wait for reimbursement and run out of funds and have trouble advocating.

SCAM!!! We bought this policy close to 20 years ago. Have NEVER received any paperwork on it!! I have called MANY times and they cannot locate my policy and yet the payment still comes out every month. I called the bank and put a stop pay on that but that is still 20 years of payments that I will never get back now. SAVE YOUR MONEY!! Go to a reputable company for insurance!!!!

Worst company ever. I wish I could give them zero stars. Many multiple calls attempting to find my great aunt’s policy. My great aunt was unable to give me her policy number. So when I give them every bit of information about her they cannot find it nor do they want to help. I am so incredibly frustrated. I sent POA documents to them with a letter asking them to change her address on record, and change her beneficiary designation per her instructions. Two weeks and no response. I called them today to find out what they’re going to do about my letter and documents and they say they can’t find her in their system!!! But they’re still taking money out of her account every month!! I’m so disgusted with this company. They should be sued.

They deny getting my info. Even though I overnighted it to them. Now if there was a problem don't ya think I would have gotten it back? Now I have to go through all the nonsense again. It is hard enough to lose a loved one without all this.
