“Once again BT fails to properly provide a service or indeed provide suitable answers via Customer Services.
Some 4-5 years ago I had massive issues when BT migrated their email servers from Yahoo and my email account failed overnight and it took weeks to resolve the issue. At the beginning of this week BT once again "upgraded" their email servers. Since this time all the spam marketing emails that I assigned to my spam box have been turning up in my in box. On calling BT Customer Services and getting through to their Cardiff call centre (at least it wasn't Bombay!) I was told the following in answer to my questions,
1. Q. Why didn't BT bench test this project before launching to ensure set filters and functionality wouldn't change? A. BT did.
2. Q. If BT knew this was going to happen, why did they not inform customers? A. They can't inform every customer of every know issue.
3. How did this issue occur? A. We moved your email account from the original Yahoo server to our BT servers.
4. Q. BT did this 4-5 years ago when I had similar email problems. A. that didn't happen, we only moved your email account last week to our servers.
Now someone is serving up a big plate of BS here and it is not the kind of Customer Service I would expect from what is claimed to be the UK's leading Telcoms Company.
I have been with BT for over 30 continuous years, I have my Mobile Phone contracts (two phones), my broadband, my landline calls and my TV services with them. If this is the a atrocious way they are going to deal with my enquiry, with out even an apology they will soon find my account will migrate elsewhere.
Totally dissatisfied.”
“They reward new customers and take existing ones for granted. Finally....I had free bt sport for another 4 months and they have now decided to charge me before the end of contract....it seems that this in the terms and conditions. Therefore contract not worth anything....my broadband is up for renewal soon....so after 32 years with BT it’s time to say goodbye”
“Broadband connection poor, telephone line good. Invoice varys at over £100 per month when it should be just over £40 per month all inclusive. Very disappointing and been stuck in this contract now for 12 months!”
