“You failed completely in your customer care department!! I contacted your customer care on Friday 30th June at approximately 0900 with a question regarding the tripod fitting supplied with the "Peak camera strap" I have never received even the courtesy of a reply. I would have returned the item but that would have been wasting my time. I have now sorted the issue by going direct to "Peak"”

“For a "professional" service these guys do NOT have professional knowledge. Had a lens with backfocusing issue and had explain over and over what that means. As i wanting to use the lens on different nikon bodys that didn't all have af fine tune i return it. I wanted to try another copy of the same lens as it may have been better.(my other lenses don't have this issue.) but i was told the lens didn't have a fault and they would refund it! I never said there was a fault just a backfocus issue but no matter how many emails and phone calls no one seemed to understand :( Took them over a week to handle is matter. Also the protective packaging could've been much better.”

“I visited the shop in Edinburgh for the first time and was helped massively by the staff. They simply couldn't have done more to advise me around purchases and what would best suit me at this stage of my career. I have recommended the shop to all of my college groups as well as family photographers. An outstanding service and i'll be back at the shop by the end of the month.”

“I've bought a few things and rented from Calumet a couple of time in the past before my most recent rental. I've always received very good advice and service from everyone I've dealt with. On this particular occasion there were a few issues (not helped by the fact that I'd made the booking last minute and certain equipment was understandably not available), the main one being that I took away a pair of PocketWizard Plus iii's rather than the Air Remote for the Profoto D1 strobe setup that made up part of my rental, and wasn't aware that HSS wasn't supported which affected the shoot. The other being a missing cable for the transceiver which forced a second trip to collect. I had a discussion about compatibility up front and whether I'm correct on this point or not I did feel like I should have been made aware that the pocket wizard/profoto D1 combo wouldn't allow me to shoot over 1/160th without the mirror blocking the sensor. I didn't mention HSS, but 1/160th being the fastest shutter speed achievable should probably have been mentioned. On raising my concerns with the communication issue I'd experienced, I was absolutely delighted with the way Mark from the rentals desk in Manchester handled the situation. I went from a calm state of quite pissed off, probably never to use Calumet again, to feeling like a highly valued customer in just a few minutes. You have a cracking employee on your hands there and he absolutely deserves recognition for it. Nice one Mark.”

“Damaged my Canon 6D. Have used Calumet before for purchasing and been impressed - A bit more expensive than mail order but you have a dialogue with people who know what they are talking about. Took camera to them. Very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable and repair completed in reasonable time. No sense of being ripped off - their aim was to minimize the cost to me. Would certainly use again and I strongly recommend to others.”

“I always have and always will do all my photography business with Calumet. They are professional, courteous and highly knowledgeable...and very local to my place of work. I had a great replacement experience with Calumet recently. I purchased a Canon 5D III at the Photography Show. It turned out to be faulty. I popped into the store in Drummond St. had it checked out and it was promptly replaced with a new one the following lunchtime. All the time, i was dealth with courteously and with a smile. I will be buying a few L-series lenses from them soon and am very much looking forward to it.”

“Stunning service! Calumet had the best price for a Canon EF 50mm f1.2 lens at the recent Photography Show based at the NEC. Sadly they had sold out of stock on site but promised prompt service with direct delivery from one of their branches. The lens arrived well packaged by courier less than twenty two hours later. Superb product knowledge, great logistics and fabulous prices, what more could a photographer ask for? Thank you Calumet.”

“Prospec imaging zip balance cards, supplied in a set of two cards: one 8.5 x 10" and one 4.25 x 5.5" of superb quality. Excellent customer service and amazing value for money from Calumet UK. The Calumet price was £25 for the set. On Amazon UK the exact same set was £178 !!”

“RX100M3 ordered whilst not in stock using Calumet's great bank holiday discount. Expected to wait 5-10 working days but delighted to receive it within 3 days. Superb customer service with several email enquiries about my order replied to within literally minutes, even out of office hours. Item well packaged and free 24 hr delivery. Cannot recommend highly enough”

“I went into the Glasgow branch as I was looking to upgrade to a better tripod. After looking online, Calumet was best price. But also the advice I was given instore was excellent. Calumet had their own tripods but this wasn't pushed on me and settled for the Manfrotto MDeVe 755XB which Is a brilliant piece of kit. Thanks Calumet”

“Shocking service from Calumet. Not sure I'd ever shop online again with them. I ordered a lens hood for the new Canon 50mn STM lens. The website said this item was in stock. My order was accepted and my money was taken from my credit card. After hearing nothing for 48 hours I called and was told the item was actually out of stock and would be a week or so. In fact I called a week later and was told that the items were not expected from Canon until October (I didn't ask which year!). Consequently I missed out on the chance to get one from my work colleague who was in New York and could have picked one up for me. So I am feeling pretty unhappy at 1) the online offering from Calumet: 2) the customer service from Calumet: 3) the lack of effort to keep me as a customer or even apologise! For me WEX, Park Cameras, Fotosense and Anazon are the best UK online dealers and of course B&H in the U.S. Sorry I couldn't say anything more positive but Calumet you really suck!”
