Impressive entrance and good selection of cars. Michael was friendly and answered any questions or issues I had. I got car a day later which is earlier than normal but I appreciated that as I needed it for work. A few cosmetic issues with car I was happy to wait for so I could get car early. It took 2 weeks to get parts to fix car. It was fixed and after checking I was happy I left.

Struggling to give the rate I feel reflects my experience this time when purchasing a vehicle last week. We had used Vardys 2 years ago and they were faultless. This time...... not so great sadly. The sales side went without a hitch! Our salesman John Black was knowledgable, patient and very helpful from start to finish. He wasn’t pushy or intrusive. As a showroom, it’s very relaxed and there was never any pressure whilst browsing vehicles. You’re aware staff are around but they generally leave you be which is what I want when looking for a new car. We purchased our vehicle and agreed to collect at noon the next day which was great. Within 5 hrs of leaving Vardy’s the car completely shut down..... power steering, lights, central locking all went, stranding me midway between my work and my home. Long story short, it’s now 4 days later, I don’t have my new vehicle, and am unlikely to have it for another week. Vardys were reluctant to provide a courtesy car and asked me to get taxis to work and they would reimburse me at a later stage. This would see a significant financial output for me and i declined to do so. A courtesy car was eventually sent to me on Thursday but it reeks of cigarette smoke, hadn’t been valeted and looks like it might be a general store pool car as opposed to a courtesy car. Vardys called on Friday to ask me to take the new car back with one issue fixed and another still to be looked at in a weeks time so they could have the courtesy car back. Again, I declined. I don’t know what the issue with the car is and i am not willing to drive a vehicle with a fault. After all, if you buy a car, albeit second hand, from a garage like Vardys, you don’t expect it to break down mere hours later. As stated, the sales side of dealing with Vardys was great and i cannot fault them. However, the aftercare services and the people I have dealt with since the initial break down have sadly let the company down. The attitude of those I have spoken to via phone since has seemed very indifferent and like they don’t care. It very much feels like they have my money so they don’t need to bother. If I could split the rating into sales and after sales I would but i can’t so I’m afraid Johns good work isn’t reflected fully in my rating.

Sold me a car that was in poor condition apparently so was then told it had to be taken to an auction. I then purchased another car from yourselves which had a few repairs that had to be done, was told they would be completed for when I picked car up, picked up car and none of the issues were fixed, sales advisor said he didn’t pass the correct paperwork through to the team. So it means I’m now having to take car back up to get them fixed which is an inconvenience. I did receive the Supagard treatment on my new vehicle as an extra due to the issues but still wasn’t overly happy with service I received.

Salesman was very helpful and gave time and space to allow me to look at vehicles without any hard sale or pressure. My only complaint is that you need to be realistic and honest with the customer regarding the date of delivery of the car. I finally collected my car 15 days after the estimated date of delivery with numerous phone calls to chase this up. THis is why I can only put acceptable for the service although this does not in anyway reflect the service given by the sales advisor

5 star to Lisa Maguire for excellent customer sales. No pressure to buy. Lisa really took took a great deal of time and care to make sure I was happy with the car. If I'm honest she is probably the best sales person I've ever dealt with. The handover, I think his name was Scott Grant, really helpful and obliging gentleman, although this is where I took a star away, the valeting of the car was a let down. Excited about picking up the car and then I see it hadn't been valet to a decent standard, the paint work had what looked like carwash scratches all over the paint work and cracked paint in the front bottom door sills. I told Scott I was refusing to take a car in that condition, he got it sorted out right away, touch up paint in doors and polish round the car, thank you Scott. Although the inside needed cleaning also but it wasn't a big deal. When i returned home and the second key wasn't working, of course now I start thinking about the 114 point check, no valet, second key not working. So I paid for the car to have a look over at the garage. Everything came back with a thumbs up apart from my front driver tyre was bellow the legal selling tred. It was 2.7 and it is against trading standards to sell a car below 3. No problem though as I'm covered for 30 days, so I calls up and I speak to Chris in after sales couldn't get me a tyre for 10 days but asked me to pop in and he would check the tyre. I went in couple of days later. They told me they had a cheap £25 tyre in the back. I felt it was a bit of a cheek as they had Dunlop tyres on the car and that's what they sold me with the car, so it did feel a bit of another let down so another star lost. Key got fixed, tyre on car replaced.. Car has been running great so far. Everything else happy with so far. No regrets using Peter Vardy.

John black was lovely, helped me all the way through the process. Only like was when I went to collect the car I had to wait from 4pm until 6:30 as it wasn’t ready, I also received very little paperwork on the vechile, not knowing when my MOT etc is.

The only reason that this is a three star review and not a one star is due to the helpfulness of Rodger the salesperson, sadly the rest of the process was a let down. Car wasn't ready on time, it took 14 days! Car was handed over with soaking wet interior, car valet was poor, chrome not polished, white polish marks all over black roof and adjoining surfaces, piece of bubbled paintwork with rust covered with touchup pen but will flake off at first wash, condensation in headlamps. PV promise of damage free alloys, well why are they still scuffed. No radio code, no magical handover, your staff looked blank when asked for 3 month warranty, breakdown cover and MOT guarantee. How can I use the breakdown cover if I have no phone number, still don't know what breakdown cover I have. Told by hand over they would arrange to get the car back in reference the issues. As of yet this hasn't happened. I had to call them and am still awaiting a reply to my last call. I am also waiting on a call from head office, I have called twice and they haven't returned my call. Not the experience you advertise.

Sales experience was excellent But hand over procedure was diabolical. The preparations had not been completed. Too many departments not communicating with each other And the customer left sitting around for 1 f a half hour with no one attending or advising what was going on

I was really happy with the service provided to me by Chris. Chris was really professional, helpful and I felt like he tried to find the best deal that suited me rather than just trying to get a sale which I had been experiencing in Arnold Clark. I would return to Peter Vardy for future car purchases. Having said that, I was a little disappointed when coming for the car, the back seats were not clipped on, underneath the handbrake was extremely dirty, the petrol cap was a different colour from the car and there was make up stains on the roof of the car. No one has been in contact with me to advise when this will be sorted.

Sales team were very good but after sales have let you down badly. Trying to get information on putting on my private number plate took me three days of phone calls and I was given the wrong information about needing an appointment to get the job done by your workshop. I would have given Lisa McGuire 5 stars if the review was just on her performance but I feel a bit let down by the rest of the service I received. On the day of collection for my car I had an appointment and I was kept waiting for over an hour past that appointment time as the girl who was dealing with the handover was on a training course. There was also a scuff on the rear driver side door that had been pointed out but was not repaired i do have an appointment to get this rectified but it means I need to take time off work to bring the car back and I am told I will need to pay an admin fee to get a courtesy car for an issue that should have been sorted before I even picked the car up.

Salesman was excellent....friendly,not pushy at all....a very good experience. Unfortunately when I picked up the car the damaged paintwork below the grill (which I was assured would be fixed) wasn't completed. It begs the question, was my car even looked over before it was being picked up. To make matters worse, the tyre sensor light was on, further showing my car wasn't looked at. I picked my car up on Saturday 9th, the next available slot to fix the paintwork is Monday 18th. The car is great and I'm very happy with my purchase. My husband will be purchasing a car soon and he was impressed with the sales team and would have gladly went to the CarStore, the issues with the bodywork and the fact that my car wasn't looked at before pick up has him questioning whether he will now.
