About Chilton Furniture:

Chilton is a family-owned, Maine company dedicated to selling fine, wood furniture, all American-made. We are known for our Shaker-inspired designs, and also feature Arts & Crafts, modern and cottage style pieces in solid cherry, maple, ash, walnut, and quarter-sawn oak. We are also known for the quality craftsmanship of our custom work. Many of our pieces can be custom built to your specifications.

Much of our furniture is handcrafted in small Maine workshops, and we also work with boutique craftsmen in New Hampshire, Vermont and the Midwest, many of whom have been partners for decades. All of these cabinetmakers have a Shaker-like dedication to workmanship, function, and simplicity of line and form. All of Chilton’s pieces are built to our high standards, and a growing number are original, proprietary designs.

“Entire experience with Chilton's was superior. From sales (Sean, Eleanor, Adam) to delivery (Don and Brandon), could not have been better. Of course, the delivery time might be long, but all made before the longest estimate (large order-15 pieces). We got shaker furniture in cherry. Quality is exceptional. A fine company.”

“beautiful, well made furniture. In store display and customer assistance was perfect. The production time for my made-to-order furniture was as stated at time of ordering. The two guys who delivered the furniture took great care in handling and placing it. Again, perfect This was my second order (a linen press) to use as a sideboard to accompany the dining table and 6 chairs and the Shaker hutch and china breakfront that I purchased 2 years ago. All in cherry with a clear coat finish I am extremely happy with all aspects of Chilton Furniture”

“Thank you Chiltons for keeping up with the times. The current Chiltons is more than a colonial furniture shop now and I am having a ball mixting the cherry from ten or fifteen years ago with walnut pieces that look a little like mid century modern. If anything the furniture you purchase today is even better made than the pieces I bought earlier. The delivery worked like a dream too. I was quoted a two hour delivery time and it worked out great. My piee came wrapped and well protected while the men were polite and respectful of the house and the piece they were carrying into the house to unwrap.”

“The table and chairs we ordered are absolutely beautiful. It took a long time to get, longer than anticipated. During that time Chilton never contacted us or gave us an update. When we contacted them for an update it felt like we were asking for extra service. A simple email letting us know we we’re not forgotten would seem to be a simple way to provide better customer service.”

We try to provide our best estimates for lead times at the time of the sale, or whenever requested by the customer, but we don't always hit the nail on the head. We see that your order was delayed by about a week beyond the quoted window of 20-24 weeks, and although it looks like we were able to provide updates upon request, we apologize for not being more proactive in notifying you of the delay.
