“Dreadful mechanic, rushed through oil change etc to get the job done quick, didn’t even bother to flush the oil system, next day driving to work the underneath cover fell off the car onto the Ground creating sparks on the road, the click mechanic never put it back on properly, it’s an absolute ripoff, go to a good garage and pay a bit extra, which will be money well spent, as money spent with click mechanic is wasted money”

“I used to be on the team as mechanic was treated badly after been late for booking . Poor customer service also found it hard to price jobs as click mechanic wanted profit on parts supplied. To customers”

“Appalling service from Click Mechanic be very carful with these people as they simply wash their hands of any responsibility when things go wrong. You have no recourse through them even though they are taking payment for arranging a mechanic. My mechanic Richard failed to remedy the issue fitted a starter motor when one was not needed and stated that the car was starting ok when it was clearly not. He then failed to answer texts and emails and failed to turn up at appointed time overall a very bad and costly experience and Click Mechanics response is as follow " The mechanics on our network are independent and are not employed by us" would I use click mechanic again ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!”

“I was quoted for call out and labour but what a rip off mechanic charged me almost £53 to tell me what I already knew. He was 10minutes his name was Jamie DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE CUSTOMER SERVICE AWFUL”

“Please be aware of these scammers! They were meant to carry out my car work at home, all agreed to. They decided upon arrival they were taking it to a garage nearby, with no explanation as to why. As the location of the garage they mentioned was round the corner I reluctantly let them take my car. I then followed them in my spare car and realised they were going in a completely different direction to what they said and I lost them as I couldn’t keep up. I called them up and found nobody answered, I went into a panic and texted them that I wanted my car back and that I’d go to the police if they didn’t return it. They answered after reading that. When questioned, they said they were taking the car out of town. Completely changing yet again what they had initially advised and the location. I asked him to return my car And he got verbally abusive. Upon return of my car I was sworn at once agin for wasting their time, he started taking photos of my car And being intimidating. I then got further calls from the ‘garage’ where the so called mechanic was, he began to shout and swear yet agin as I changed my mind. Customer Service is alien to these people. I was totally shaken up by this experience. I was then advised by a friend they have form for this. They take your car, fix the fault and suddenly more faults appear, by the time you know it, your bill is extortionate and unaffordable, and obviously no payment means no car! I can not for a moment believe the positive reviews are even real! Stay away, I know I will.”

“Their website states "We hear it all the time. Stories of rogue traders and cowboy mechanics. However, when you use ClickMechanic you don't have to worry about a thing". Do not believe a word of it - in my view they are the biggest bunch of cowboys out there. I booked a pre-purchase inspection through ClickMechanic and on the basis of the report, bought the car. It very quickly became apparent that the discs & pads (which had been reported as "Excellent") in fact needed replacing. The rear tyres (also reported as "Excellent") were actually on the legal limit. So, I am faced with a bill of in excess of £1,000 to fix issues that should have been identified in the report. As others have expressed in their reviews, Customer Service is a totally alien concept to this company. Their Resolution Centre is a farce - they have no interest in reaching a fair resolution, the process is very much biased in favour of their mechanics. After protracted email conversations, my case was closed without my agreement - not exactly customer service best practice! You will find many good reviews out there - that's easy if everything goes to plan. However, a company's response when things go wrong is far more revealing. Most people will accept that things go wrong from time to time, but in ClickMechanics case, they have absolutely no interest in fairly resolving the issue. Whilst they claim to offer 12 months parts and labour warranty for and physical work undertaken (reviews here cast doubt on how effective that is!), there is no such protection for pre purchase inspections. They hide behind the disclaimers in their T's & C's and just say 'nothing to do with us, go sort this out with the mechanic'. A very frustrating and very expensive experience. I will not be using them again and would urge others not to either.”

“Don’t use these people!!! I am self employed and have a van with a faulty clutch supplied and fitted by a click mechanic. The mechanic is good but has a serious problem with one of his family. Click mechanic say the mechanic who fitted the part must be the person who rectifies the problem. So here I am with a van with a slipping clutch which I must use everyday to go to work in. Not an ideal situation and all click mechanic will do is say they will contact the mechanic and its up to them to fix it. Very poor customer service! Also, when you try to contact them using the correct option on the phone there is a recorded message saying this option is unavailable please use email. Not a great solution when you need answers.”

“Don't use this service. The customer service can't help you if you got an issue with the mechanic. Appalling service. I had to change discs and breaks on my Volvo for £187. I ended up by paying €120 extra.”

“+++DO NOT USE CLICK MECHANIC+++DO NOT USE CLICK MECHANIC+++ I had a service done at a VW main dealer giving my Golf a clean bill of health except it required a new water pump. The car was 9 years old with 42000+ miles at the point of service so rather than pay main dealer costs (£569) I went to CLICKMECHANIC a web based booking firm for car repairs who gave the job to one of their designated mechanics [SPANNERWORKS] for £282. Approx 140 miles after the work was done the engine suffered a mechanical breakdown - the engine is a total write off. After 7 weeks of inaction and denial by CLICKMECHANIC as well as different stories as to the root cause from two of their designated mechanics [SPANNERWORKS and Darren at MOBILEAUTOCARE] I had the car recovered to VW Bromley by Darren. My combined costs for work across Darren and Spanner total over approx £700 and the car did have a market value of approx £4000 - now zero VW Bromley have inspected the car and written a letter stating the engine write off was a direct result of the work carried out by CLICKMECHANIC whose mechanic had carried out the water pump work. Remedial costs are over £8000 so the car is a write off. This letter has been sent to CLICKMECHANIC who have yet to respond. BTW their customer service is awful - a very thin veneer - do not be fooled by ''Ted'' - he is not on your side and to date CLICKMECHANIC have done everything to deny responsibility.”

“They gave me a quote of £678.12 to replace a rear window regulator on my Peugeot 2008. I got the job done by a local garage for £145 !!!! They gave a total rip off quote of more than £500 more than it cost me!”

“I would like to share my experience of using ClickMechanic which at first was very good and felt very confident with the service I received. The day came when the vehicle was due to be collected. I had a slot between 8-10. At 9:45 I received a phone call from the mechanic to say that they had ordered the wrong filter and the correct filter was due to be delivered late afternoon. I was then asked if they can collect the car the next day. This was extremely inconvenient as the day I had chosen fitted in with my schedule. I decided to cancel and then was charged a £40 cancellation fee which was totally out of order as in realty the mechanic cancelled on me and did not honour his part by fixing my car on the selected date. Also with ClickMechanic they take the money up front with the excuse it is pre authorised. They have over £200 of my money which will take at least 5 days to get back to my account. As a nurse working for the NHS, my salary isn’t great and can’t afford to wait that long for my money and pay a cancellation fee. Don’t use Click Mechanic its just one big scam”

“I recently booked a clutch replacement and at the 11th hour was presented with an additional £60 vehicle collection fee. (The recovery driver was already enroute so booking cancellation would have incurred a larger fee). My rationale for choosing the service was the mobile mechanic nature of the service. At no point in buying the service through the portal was there an indication of a need to recover the vehicle or a charge for doing so for a Clutch replacement. See attached quotes from the website during the booking process “Clutch Replacement… will do the work on your doorstep….” “…don’t forget your mechanic will come to you and for no extra charge” This was despite me confirming during the booking process the vehicle could not be driven. There so also no mention of recovery fees in the company Terms & Conditions or Booking Polices Despite repeated polite requests to address my grevience Click Mechanic showed no interest. I would warn against their use.”

“AVOID. Was quoted a price for a new alternator which was fine, accepted it and then the night before the mechanic was due to come, the mechanic messaged me and said it was going to cost another £300. Obviously, I said forget it. Would never use this shambles of a company again.”
