One star for aftercare. Had a bathroom fitted in November. The Monday to Friday fitting as we were told in the sales pitch turned out to be Monday to Thursday and between 10am and 12noon arrival to prompt 4pm finish which resulted in a very rushed finish. I could have done the bath seal better myself and there are still silicone marks on the wall panels one of which has a deep scratch which occurred during fitting. Had to have them back after a week to fix a leaking sink, due to improper fitting. The proposed solution for the scratched panel was tho cut the panel in half and replace the scratched portion. I declined this. A week after that the heated towel rail went cold at the top. Contacted CSJ and after a week the project manager said he would try tohave someone attend... Still waiting!! Another email sent on Monday this week, still to receive a reply. When spending +£7k one would expect better but seems once CSJ have your money you can whistle on the wind! I'm left feeling shortchanged and very disappointed

We had a bathroom recently fitted to a very poor finish. From the start we had a problem, We got our quote only to be called an hour later and £800 added on. I told the fitter I could hear dripping through the night, he said it was my radiators that were cooling down when in actual fact he hadn't fitted the pipe properly in the loft so after 2 days of dripping into a cupboard and saturating the contents and carpet it then started to leak through the living room ceiling. It took a week to dry it out with a dehumidifier. The silver trim around the window was cut too short so I had to caulk it, the seal around the bath started to come away 2 days after fitting, he hadn't sealed the ceiling or around the door or fitted the toilet seat properly as it was loose, but the worst is I now need to buy a new floor as he has cut it to different lengths at the bath panel some of it goes to the bath but there are 1cm gaps too. As you can see from the picture it has been filled in with white sealant. We were given 5 days for installation but they had to come back the next week as they still weren't finished so I had to give them a key, when I returned home in the afternoon the key was in the front door lock and the door was closed, it is just by luck no one passing took the key. I would never use them again.

Well, what can I say? 55 weeks later the job originally estimated as 16 weeks duration has finally been completed (still awaiting the paperwork though!) From the outset it's only fair to say that I'm happy with the final job. HOWEVER, it was a living nightmare from start to finish. You would not believe the things that went wrong here which were ALL avoidable if those overseeing the work had undertaken even the slightest amount of due diligence. If I had not personally got involved in lots of different ways goodness knows what we would have ended up with. The final job was acceptable despite CSJ rather than because of them. In setting the context, this relates to a 2 storey extension with a new kitchen and a bathroom and ensuite refurbishment. I paid well in to 6 figures for this. The vast majority of the tradesmen on the job were great guys but there were 2 who fell well below standard. These guys made us feel like it was the Chuckle Brothers who were working on our home. Every time they came they caused more damage than they built including to areas that were not even involved in the project! I finally banned them from our property. The management of this project was woeful. Promises from the very top of CSJ were repeatedly made then failed to follow through and be delivered. When things went wrong they tried to bully themselves out of it and to blame everyone but themselves. They use a lot of subcontractors and not one of them has a positive opinion of CSJ and their experience of working alongside them. CSJ can't keep hold of their senior staff. Over the 55 weeks our project was overseen by 4 different managers. There was no continuity and no one appeared to have the slightest idea of what was happening and when. I used up my full year's holiday entitlement waiting for tradesmen to arrive and often they failed to turn up when promised or more often or not, did not know what they were there to do or had to sit waiting (once for 3 days) for materials to arrive. It took from the 19th December 2014 to 4th September 2015 to get some of the final parts of the job completed despite me having a final payment of 10s of thousands of pounds outstanding which was payable on completion, who knows when they would have finished if I hadn't had a contract with a large payment due at the end. So if you are looking at getting some work done on your home and considering using CSJ, don't just walk away ... RUN!!!!

I engaged CSJ on A family members recommendation and had long delays, fortunately my 8-week job only took 28-weeks. I have delayed my review so that it's publication would not jeopardise my family finally getting their job completed. The completed job an extension to a dinning room and kitchen together with a new kitchen. My biggest complaint starts with the CSJ contract. This A3 "yellow" piece of paper is not sufficient to detail anything that is not a major element of the build ( e.g. Flooring, tiling , taps sink etc) so if you get into a contract with CSJ get a complete schedule of work detailed down to the n'th degree. My job was a 10% deposit and two staged payments of 30% with a final 30% on completion. What I found out was that CSJ would rush work so as to achieve a payment stage. For example, the plasterer was rushed and the finished job is woeful. The other work done by the plasterer was fine so it is not the workmanship, it is CSJ's pressure on their staff. I am sure that CSJ are great at their core work (I.e fitting Windows), but they seemed lost at the bigger extension work. In the spirit of fairness, apart from the plastering which looks like the surface of the moon I am content with the finished extension, but it needed a lot of work from me and my wife to achieve this. For example, they mixed up components from my family members job bringing their sink, without our intervention they would have cut the worktop incorrectly.

Time wasters, I took time off work to get a quote done for 3.5 bathrooms in an extension, the guy came out, measured up, said he would get the quote done then didn’t have the courtesy to say he wasn’t going to bother. Tried to chase them up but just got the run around.

We have had to take double figures in time off for repairs. We eventually got the ombudsman involved to get them completed. They are fine unless you need repairs. I would never ever recommend them

Only 1 star and that’s for the team who worked on my bathroom. They were polite courteous and did an excellent job. I can’t recommend CSJ due to the “project manager” assigned to me. Didn’t turn up on the first day of work which too was actually a day late then denied he said he would be there. He only bothered to call me when asking for more money and came to my home as there was an issue with no running hot water from my bathroom tap after work was finished. Again said there would be an added cost as I now needed a pump (surely this should have been identified before job started). He said I was shouting at him and I realised nothing positive would come out of the immediate situation I asked him to leave my property he threatened me with solicitors which in a later conversation he again denied. The pump was installed to give me running hot water at no extra cost which I was grateful for but I was also promised someone would be out to clean off all of the silicon marks from my wet wall which never happened. I honestly could not face another conversation with the “project manager “ so have tried to clean the walls myself. This should have been a pleasant experience but this individual made it upsetting and very stressful to the point that I cannot enjoy my new bathroom due to the bad memories

Made an appointment with CSJ in regards to a quote for windows and doors. Appointment was made for 8pm. I had one call from CSJ at 19:13pm which I missed as I was showing family around the house. Tried to call back at 19:55 repeatedly once I had seen the missed call however it was an answer phone to say no one was in office. After waiting 45mins past the designated time the appointment was a no show. Called next day to find out what had went wrong. Apparently because I had not answered and confirmed through the one call that I had received but unfortunately missed, my appointment was then cancelled. There was no voicemail or explanation left to say this was the case. I had tried to call back with no success. Time wasters, poor communication and poor customer service. Will be taking my business else where.

Zero after care and complete lack of empathy shown by CSJ. They supplied and installed/fitted shower room in April 2018. Kitchen ceiling was leaking in July 19. Called them and was told it was 2 months over the warranty therefore I had to pay £120 to get some workmen out to "check" what was wrong. I had to find and pay a local plumber to fix problem. On inspection, we discover, there had been a long term leak as our kitchen beam is completely soak and damp. Apparently there was another problem, the water pipes were leaking too. Called CSJ and showed them the poor workmanship provided and it was then they had send someone out to fixed the water pipe. However, this wasn't an emergency as we had no use of a shower for 4 days. I am now trying to get a reimbursement for the work I had to pay to get a new trap tor replace the broken trap fitted by CSJ. Message then and no surprise, no reply or acknowledge this.

CSJ Team 3 has just left after installing 2 new windows and 1 new front door at my Dalgety Bay, Fife home. Very pleased and could not fault anything. They were running an hour or so late arriving, but I appreciated the excellent communication from the staff at the head office who called to let me know in advance, so it wasn't a problem for me. I never buy services on the doorstep, to be honest, but the sales team when they called were really genuinely friendly, helpful and the main reason for using Central Scotland Joinery (CSJ) was they were all from the Falkirk area where my family are from. I see their vans around my local area quite a lot. I will definitely get them back again and totally recommend them. I wish I'd got the kitchen door and another 2 windows done as well - for the reasonable prices they charge for quality doors/windows and EXCELLENT WORKMANSHIP. I don't know why I didn't do that in the first place. I think at the quotation visit I was so taken aback at the reasonable price that I went blank but I should've definitely got the kitchen door etc done too. More than happy to have CSJ Team 3 back again. Nice lads, polite, no mess left etc, 3 hours to do the full job which is exactly how long they said it would take. The only downside is the fantastic new windows/door make the rest of the house look shabby by comparison!!!

A word of warning for potential customers,I had a conservatory built going on 4yrs ago which started leaking almost immediately I have had ongoing repairs none of which has stopped the initial leaks and now have further ingress of water in multiple areas,I have attempted contact several times recently with no replies to my concerns. I suggest staying clear of this shoddy (I’m being polite) outfit and spend your hard earned pennies with much more reputable company,I live in hope of contact and repairs but won’t be holding my breath, one very disgruntled NHS front line worker

I am delighted with my new windows and new ‘stable’ door. The installation was carried out over one and a half days with great skill and efficiency by Stuart, Bryan andJames who made a great team.

Biggest and most costly mistake of my life. To my detriment I didn't do enough research on bathroom refits as I was wanting the refit done in a hurry while I was on holiday and knew I was paying slightly more than average at that point. I came back my holiday and it was not done, zero communication. I proceeded with the job anyway after the fact when the tradesman appeared in my door with no prior notice... The biggest problem was all the completely inaccurate information I was told by the salesman. I was told a bulk area could be removed, there was issues with my existing shower being on the wrong wattage and misinformation about a heater fitting. I didn't get the bathroom I wanted with more space, the bulk area had to stay and the shower is exactly the same power as my old one, identical floor space and I now have no heating at all after being told more misinformation that my bathroom would be warmer after the refit, it is not, it is colder.. On top of that I have lost a power socket to be able to install heating retrospectively as it was covered up (sealed properly or not I have no idea...) On top of that the office, lost my spare set of keys by posting them back in a flimsy envelope where the keys fell out a hole in the envelope in the post. The attitude of the office staff is appalling, I had to phone multiple times regarding the keys issue and wait a few days to have my locks changed when it suited CSJ to do it and it was a mission getting a receipt at all for the bathroom. There is no transparency on the breakdown of the cost of the bathroom installation and fittings when questioned. The bathroom is small, with minimum fixtures and fittings installed, with like replacing like for like, a bath removed and not replaced, no movement of plumbing. I was expecting a top spec luxurious shower room for the price. The guarantee for my shower was also lost and took over five calls to resolve. Also beware, the salesman did not leave a copy of the bathroom fittings chosen and ordered either. If it had been and I had done research, I would have realised what the true cost was of the fittings and what the massively inflated cost of the installation was. The main issue is with the CSJ salesman, I naively believed what I was told believing they were an expert and proceeded on the information given which particularly in the case of the shower and the bulk area being removed which was blatant misinformation. I am posting this review now that my sister who cancelled an appointment with the company after my experience, has now had a bathroom fitted to identical spec for less than half the price than myself... CSJ should be taking accountability for their salesman but they have not.

We got new windows fitted by this company and they were fine. On the strength of that we ordered a conservatory from them. I wish we hadn't. Five years down the line and we still have leaks. Our sofa has been stained 3 times because of this so when it gets cleaned this time CSJ are getting the bill. We phone them up to complain and they say someone will get back to you, they never do, I have to phone again. We have had numerous workers out to try and find/fix the leaks all to no avail. It took them from April to October 2015 to install the conservatory, They ordered the wrong cavity tray, bits of the fittings were missing from the order. This company must be the worst company in terms of communications with customers. We had tradesmen arriving when we didn't expect them and some not turning up when we did expect them. As I said at the start the window installations were fine and we are very pleased with them. Gavin the rep was very helpful and was present on the days of the fittings to ensure everything was OK. I would advise if you are thinking of ordering a conservatory from them, think again.

I am very sorry that you feel this way. We have advised you to keep the room temperature to normal level(approximately 20 degrees) which would remedy the condensation and issue with the door. A room needs to be a adequate temperature level and ventilated for natural products like your door to maintain.
