thievesThey said they would only charge $2 as written on the site, and in the same month, they charged another $25. It’s a recurring monthly subscription I wish I had read reviews before purchasing. This site is ran by scumbags I had to cancel my banking card and take into account that I’m in a third war country, so $25 is a lot from where i’m from. This site needs to be taken down immediately the business they run is unethical I hate scammers!!!

This website is a scam. I only used their services to make one CV and I did pay for that CV right away. They still charged me for a 3-month subscription which I never asked for. They charged me for £44.85. Stay away from this platform.

Be aware it’s a scam !!!!! it reads as USD 1.95 for 7 days but still they will automatically deduct $24.95 in few days. Worst experience ever.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding a recent experience with CVmaker. I recently utilized this CV creation service, where I was initially charged approximately 300 JPY for a one-time download. I proceeded with the payment using my credit card. However, to my surprise, I later discovered an unauthorized charge of around 3400 JPY for a monthly subscription. Upon reviewing the credit card payment page, there was no clear indication of the service transitioning to a monthly subscription with automatic renewal. It was only after making the purchase that I received an email, thanking me for the purchase and only mentioning at the bottom that it would automatically renew on a monthly basis after 7 days… It was Unexpected Circumstance and I Strong Request for Refund

High level and polished / devious scammers beware. I signed up for a CV for myself as applied for a charity job in February 2023. All fine got a template paid a few pounds, filled it in myself and sent it off to a company. Did all the work myself after all was just getting a blank template. On sign up and welcome email you have absolutely no idea you are rolling into a £18.95 a month subscription service which they say is for storing your CV and allowing you to edit it - joke - So it's one of those unless you explicitly ask to cancel (but why would you when you haven't agreed to a subscription) you will get charged. Sadly as we are a busy family with a kid and loads of transactions we just didn't pick up on it till a few months down the line plus it was via a card and not seen it as it wasn't a standard direct debit we just didn't see it. I wrote to them and said I was cancelling it - didn't trust them so called my bank and stopped card, even changed my card as said they were a scam. Dialoging with them verbally is impossible - whether in UK or Holland they never ever ever answer the phone - and online they robotically just say you should have read the terms and conditions - I am calling them scammers because on the sign up page and on their first email welcome you don't know absolutely at all you've signed up for a rolling subscription - they don't want to give even a £1 back now- I looked at their Uk - London address and it is just a box - so they can be operating from anywhere in the world - In fact when I emailed them saying I will take them to court for the £170 they owe me they say and I quote from an email "we will ignore any further messages from you" there seems to be unfortunately a huge amount of people cheated in the same way looking at various review sites about them and I will now make it my mission to notify all appropriate business support companies as possible like DTI and office of fair trading, also will be emailing as many educational establishments as possible and recruitment companies warning about this company - they act very arrogantly and just trot out their "you can't touch us because of our terms and conditions" so I am doing my level best to bring them back to earth a bit and have enough time on my hands to do just that.

Silent auto-renewals... Fortunately, Revolut blocked the transactions, then sent me a notification + blocked the card and issued a new one for free. I normally use one-time / virtual cards in online transactions. The site's high ranking a low entry threshold is unlikely to cause me to seek reviews before using the service :-(

I wish everybody could read these reviews before making a CV on the site. I genuinely didn’t think i will ever get scammed by making a CV. I bought two CVs for 0.99c which was an amazing price initially. After a few days they charged me 24.99€. I immediately looked into it and wrote them an e-mail about what was this purchase for? It’s an insane amount of money for 2 CVs imo. Meanwhile i checked their site- and there it was. Somewhere sneakily hidden that as you use and pay- their site automatically charges you for a monthly subscription. Okay I cancelled it. They wrote me back in 2 hours, “your subscription has been cancelled”. I was like okay, it was my fault for not checking this I cannot argue with them about that since they don’t even do refunds, but at least I have a confirmation that it has been cancelled . I let it go, since I cancelled it, it was over right? No. This morning they charged me again for 24.99€. AFTER I CANCELLED. and. It has been five days. 5. Five fkn days not even a month! And I shouldn’t even be mentioning this since i CANCELLED the subscription. I immediately wrote them an e-mail and sent them a screenshot about wth is this? Suddenly they are acting deaf. Total radiosilence, but they were quick to write me an e-mail before, acting all high and mighty. Now i have to completely change my card lol. They will probably try to charge me like Netflix or other monthly subscriptions I have. Fk this site im literally looking for a job and in this economy and my country 50€ is a huge amount of money. I feel horrible but what can I do now? I wish nothing but the same on scammers like this.

At first glance, CVmaker.com promises an intuitive interface for CV crafting, and in that regard, it delivers. However, there's a snag that users should be acutely aware of: the silent auto-renewals. Though their renewal policy is technically available in the Terms & Conditions, it's easy to miss, especially with the absence of an advance renewal alert, which is a common courtesy in most subscription models. I reached out, hoping for understanding or a resolution, but was met with a rigid reference to their T&Cs. While they stand firm on this technicality, I can't help but notice the growing chorus of users with similar grievances on platforms like Sitejabber and ProductReview. If you're pondering CVmaker, I urge you: arm yourself with knowledge, set up personal renewal reminders, or even better, seek platforms that meld functionality with clear, transparent billing practices.

I made a CV after being cleared to start working again while suffering a disability, and I was told that I’d be charged 2 pounds for a CV. While I did know there was a subscription I cancelled it immediately after saving my CV and was still charged. It seems as though multiple people have the same issue. Please stay away, if you are unemployed and looking for a job they will not sympathize with their main audience who probably struggle financially as is, and even if you do read the fine print they won’t reward you for it and charge you anyways. Don’t know how this is legal. AVOID!!!!

They cleverly scam you by putting you on a recurring monthly charge of $25 after you pay $2 for creating a CV. When you asked for charges to be reimbursed you get a quick reply saying that their terms and conditions do not allow for this. Stay away from this company. They are fraudulent.

Cvmaker is a simple subscription trap scam, where they try their best to hide subscription based nature of the service. The way cvmaker tries to hide this, could almost make it illegal in certain countries. And even after writing to them , they keep debiting on some pretext till push comes to shove. Do not use this service

O mare înșelătorie. Deși îți închizi abonamentul continuă să te taxeze și nu cu suma de 89,95lei/lună cum îți scriu în mail ci cu suma de 89,95lei de 2-3x pe lună. Stați departe de site-ul acesta!
