My experience with DL in Colchester has been appalling and I urge anyone contemplating their membership to consider other options, especially in such a competitive market. I have been a member for 2+ years and have been doing PT sessions for 6+ months paying for the days as and when I wanted to. I was encouraged to sign up for reoccurring sessions due to them being marginally cheaper and as you can imagine signing up for this via the app can be done in seconds by clicking a couple of buttons.... cancelling them on the other hand. Firstly, you can't truly cancel the sessions via the app. All they do is convert the (already paid for) sessions into vouchers which have a short expiry date. I phoned the branch and stated that I simply could not get into the gym to cancel them however they would not allow me to cancel over the phone, they said it was impossible. During this time I am still getting billed for sessions I will never be able to attend. I reached out directly to a member of staff who has repeatedly assured me that the manager is aware and is going to cancel it yet here I am, a month later and still having PT sessions get booked with the only saving grace being my credit card on their system has expired so presumably they're not going to be able to continue with this incompetence as they've taking £200+ from me now despite my pleas to stop the reoccurring sessions. Mason - my understanding is you are the manager and you are aware of this situation. I'd be more than happy to talk to you directly about this but ultimately I just want someone with an ounce of common sense to press a button on a keyboard to fix this problem.

If I could have given zero or a minus… If I could have given zero or a minus mark I would have done so. My wife bought gift vouchers for my daughter and I. Due to the pandemic we were unable to use these until recently. My daughter cannot use as she has gone back to uni. The club said I could use both vouchers then reneged on their promise. That cost us £50 for the voucher that expires at the date of November. Their management staff were also very arrogant when delivering their corporate message at the Purley, south London. I advise against anyone doing business with that company

Save your money and invest in your health elsewhere as David Lloyds Bushey has the rudest and most unhelpful staff and the manager (who is supposedly in charge of the club) is extremely unprofessional and frankly very rude and argumentative. The facilities are badly looked after and if you have an issues or complaint they will simply become aggressive. Deeply disturbing behaviour displayed by the Manager from a club I pay so much for on Platinum membership. Allergy requests are ignored by kitchen staff who are just as rude - it’s a legal case waiting to happen! As a result I have cancelled my membership.
