I was a seller on Depop for just over a year with a good reputation, good reviews and zero issues. On Tuesday December 27, I posted a replica (fake) skull head with mounted hardware included on the back. I stated in the title and multiple times in the listing that it was, indeed, not real. The listing was public for three days. On Friday December 30th, I received an email from Depop stating that the item had been removed per their “Prohibited and Restricted Items” and “infringement on their rules”. Within just two minutes I received another email stating that my account had now been permanently banned. I was never given a chance to make it right, if there was a problem or threat. The only contact I had was through email, and I was passed around to about 4 or 5 different customer service individuals who call themselves “Team Depop”. Their customer service is appalling. None of them could even provide a category that the item fell under, as I was told different things. Per their policy, Depop states that they “will work with a user to rectify a situation”, but I was never given that chance. They made an assumption which was a mistake, and I am now no longer able to even get on the app or website. They told me to “consider myself permanently banned”, and “any new accounts made will also be banned and reported”. On top of the item that was removed, they eventually told me that I posed a threat to the Depop community. Their allegations are preposterous and demeaning, as I did nothing wrong. Defamation aside, the biggest issue and my reason for going public is because I sold two items on the platform to one buyer the week of Christmas. Depop was, and still is, refusing to release those funds made. I have those emails, the screenshots from the Depop communication as well as my information and details on the listing/item in question. I also have the information and shipping information from the last sale that Depop is refusing to release the funds from. I have since posted videos on social media and YouTube calling this for what it is. NO business has ANY right to withhold funds that are yours. I am willing to do all that I can to be justified and to, most importantly, receive the funds that are mine. I don’t know, legally, how they are able to do this as I am not sure what happens to funds sitting idle. They have since ceased all communication with me. If you use or sell on this platform, I would highly recommend shutting it down because this ludicrous situation could happen to you. I will execute all of my avenues to get what is owed to me.

My friend's art was being sold without his permission. I asked the seller to remove it as it was a breach of copyright infringement. The seller refused to and got extremely defensive about it, claiming that there "was no copyright on the art" so he could "do what he wanted with it". I lost my cool in the message to him and called him a talentless opportunist. They removed my account accusing me of "abusive behaviour" - said nothing about the copyright infringing person. Absolutely and completely outrageous that they would remove the account of someone who was confronting a seller of copyrighted art!

My daughter has been scamed out of £560 buying through depop. Neither Depop or Paypal will refund her!. It was a years worth of wages she had saved. She's reported it to the police but they carn't do anything. Before buying through this site think very carefully. I wouldn't recommend it.

Gave them a bad review a while back for their Horrible service.. but in writing a updated one as this company will try to defraud and steal from you. Last week even though my PayPal is not connected as I'm not selling on there atm and I wouldn't sign up for depop payments as depop are not trustworthy when it comes to money, I got a notification a girl had managed to buy a item with depop payments. Of course depop had this in a hold ssying it would be release on a Tuesday originally they were told to refund her but didn't anyway on the Tuesday it said payment would be sent out to my bank next day so I decided to give it a go so I gave them my account and sort code.. there is a option to add your card details which I refused as know its easier for money to be stolen this way. And all that's needed to payout is my account numbers of course I wake up tge next day and they have not sent the money and have changed the payout date to tge next day at this point I contacted my bank and explained I was worried Depop and there money holding company STRIPE would try to defraud me, my bank in chat assured me theres no way they can take money from my account with those details to which I told the bank with those details couldn't they try setting up a direct debit to take my money. The bank assured me as long as they didn't have my card details I would be safe..... Then low and behold later that evening I get a email from my bank that a DIRECT DEBIT HAS BEEN SET UP BY STRIPE/DEPOP!!!!!!!!!! THIS DEBIT HAS BEEN CANCELLED AND BLOCKED NOW BUT SEE SO DEPOP DID TRY TO DEFRAUD ME ALSO THE PAYOUT OF THE SOLD ITEM HAS NOT BEEN SENT A DAY CHANGED TO TOMORROW... DEPOP ARE LYING FRAUDULENT THIEVES AMD I AM GOUNG TO BE REPORTING THRM TO TRADIND STANDARDS , THE OMBUDSMAN ASWELL FOR ILLEGAL PRACTICES. AVOID THIS COMPANY

Depop not only remove and suspend your account for invalid reason, they also have control over trustpilot reviews, trying to manipulate reviews now even I don't trust 'trust'pilot reviews because of depop removing genuine reviews through trustpilot.

The pennies you’ll make reselling things on Depop are not worth the time and stress. In almost a year using the app I had all sorts of bad experiences, including being harassed three times in my inbox by a weirdo asking me for pictures of myself wearing a specific jacket. These happened a few months apart, showing they have no control over people who are banned returning to the app. But the last drop was a sale in which I sent the parcel with tracking number, the buyer wasn't home to receive the delivery and it sat at the post office for 2 weeks. I warned her she needed to pick it up otherwise it would be returned to me, and so it happened. She blamed me (?) and I reached out to Depop to mediate. I gave her a refund on the item but kept the shipping fee because, you know, I actually paid to have it shipped to her, and the post returns the parcel but doesn’t refund the fee. However, mindless Depop support keeps regurgitating the same standard “buyer-always-right” response saying I should give her a full refund. So basically, even though I did everything right I’m supposed to take a loss out of buyer negligence.  In sum, they provide very little support to sellers while taking big cuts, including on shipping. It’s impossible to get eyes on your listing without boosting it, so be prepared to pay them twice as much as they advertise. Maybe you’ll have a better experience if you’re reselling luxury items, otherwise I wouldn’t bother.

zero seller protection. The buyer sent pictures of a replica item and asked for a refund . He kept the authentic item and sent me the replica. he scammed me out of the refund and had depop issue him a full refund out of my Depop balance. I Just met with my lawyer today and we will seek compensation.

Depop is the worst site. Support is either bots or just people that just don't care. Listings removed. You take time to create a listing and it's taken down for ridiculous reasons like 'stock' pics, copyright issues. Crazy - customer service is close to non existent. And watch your $$$. I sell on 3 other sites and ship all over the world. Unfortunately Etsy is now just as bad with customer service as depop, 'same' run-around.

Depop is an absolute disgrace. It's where so called customers go for a freebie, to steal money & goods from honest sellers & getting you shut down because Depop have an inefficient customer service platform and permits them to lie & get away with it. You list all details as an honest seller, actual pictures of the item, give customer services all the info they require to prove your innocence but still they go in favour of the dodgy customer after a freebie & your account is shut down & they keep your takings dispite your great track record of sales & feedback over the past few years! They shut your listings down for word descriptions also, I don't mean copies etc I mean actual style wording as apparently its classed as insulting. Had that numerous times, so this is the last straw, I don't want the account back, keep it! Plus FEES are high, as well as sellers being treated like dirt, you have to keep reshreshing your listings to get em seen daily/hourly, you can never talk to just one person in customer services, you get several in the space of an hour, it's the worst selling platform iv had the displeasure of using! Stick with other better well known selling platforms folks, save yourselves the time, money, stress & inappropriate guilty before proven otherwise. Absolute sh!$ show!

My daughter sold a few Tiffany and co. Items to one seller for over $400. I packaged and shipped the items myself via USPS. The customer received the parcel yesterday, but today claims the package was empty! This is an obvious scam! I’ve been going back and forth with customer service all day via messages bc they do not have a telephone number for their US customers to call! All they have to do is look at the weight of the parcel and they will see the parcel was not empty! This company is either in on these scams or they just don’t care about their sellers.

I was the victim of being sold counterfeit trainers. This was proven to be the case not only by my authentication but also an independent authenticator. PayPal ruled that this was also the case & luckily I did receive not a small sum of £225 back. I left factually correct & proportionate feedback for the seller who sold me the item - following Depop guidelines & giving a fair reflection of a transaction that was fraudulent on the sellers behalf. How else are we to warn other users that they are at risk of losing large amounts of money? The seller left me feedback, bearing in my mind I made a purchase from them stating “all his shoes are fake.” The seller has never made a purchase from me - so vindictive, wholly untrue & feedback that accounts to defamation. However, Depop, who clearly did not bother to look at one single fact of the transaction, removed my feedback as being revengeful & going against Depop guidelines! You could not make it up - you look at Depop’s guidelines around how they purport to protect users & create a safe environment - yet here they are intrinsically protecting a seller who has been found to have sold counterfeit trainers so that they can target other unsuspecting users. I have had a whole week of worrying because the transaction was a nightmare from start to finish & yet Leo D from Depop customer service has the gall to accuse me of being revengeful & leaving feedback that was not an accurate representation of the transaction - Leo, I was the victim of fraud, PayPal ruled in my favour, I received a full refund, next time the victim may not be so lucky or aware. Absolutely disgusting from Depop & I have no doubts that others will be severely mentally harmed by what Depop are clearly allowing to go on.

This app sucks , I have sold one item and I haven't gotten my payment. Mind you it was 160 that I was supposed to receive. Iv'e emailed them multiple times and i haven't gotten anything. DO NOT USE THIS APP!!!

Did not receive the item I paid £150 for and never heard from the seller. After two months I eventually received my refund along with a very rude email from the seller. She blamed me for not telling her I had placed an order??? As a result she refused to refund additional costs such as postage. I reported her to Depop and left her a very honest review to warn others. Several weeks later and I have just received “a friendly reminder from Depop to ensure my reviews are honest, accurate and fair”. They have removed my review for this seller. Horrible experience and terrible customer service. They prefer to protect dishonest sellers and not the buyers they try to scam. I would not recommend Depop to anyone and will never use this awful site again.

Depop is run by vindictive staff who remove your account for the slightest uncalled for infringement as you are a small seller , yet they allow the big fraudsters selling fake items run amok ..please avoid as you will build up your account and they will suddenly just shut it down and will NOT even entertain your concerns ..no other company would do this ..stick to eBay , Amazon and alike..NOT DEPOP

Removed all my girlfriend's items with no warning for a small hashtag policy misunderstanding. I do not recommend this app, because they treat their users (especially my sexy beautiful girlfriend) poorly. Stick to something else, unless you plan on buying clothes from my girlfriend.

Awful app- went from loving depop to hating it. Sold an item to Australia a few weeks back and the seller started by harassing me for the tracking number so I give it to her and it doesn’t work. 2 weeks later she opens up a case saying she hasn’t received it which has caused me to have other payments on hold (£200) which is an absolute joke. She has received the item but is refusing to delete the case and it seems that PayPal is on her side. Disgusting customer service, the app is full of scams and even Got Pervy men messaging me, also to mention the 10% fee they take from you! Greedy f**kers. AVOID, LOST £200

Will close your account down for no reason and say you have breached T&C, but how?! They do not say. Buyer and seller for years. Never again! Their staff are useless and send you scripts. No personalisation - and any issues they ask you to go to PayPal. Also full of scammer profiles. BEWARE!

I had an awful experience with Depop. I bought from a seller, who accidentally refunded me. I immediately paid her again but Depop suspended MY account. The seller appears to have told them I didn’t pay, omitting the fact it was her mistake. I explained to Depop but they were completely awful. I’ve now deleted my account with them.

The platform will allow scammers and counterfeit items sellers. If you decide ro speak up and make platform safe they will block your account. AVOID

Will never use this app to sell on again takes ten working days for your payment and then another 5 days for it to get to your bank absolute joke then have the cheek to take some of the money for fees when it takes that long to get paid out i thought it would be like eBay but it’s not I’ve been waiting 20 days for my pay out and the item was sent on the day and received by the buyer 2 days later but have to wait all that time sort it out Depop it’s a joke when your taking some of the money for fees will stick to eBay and Facebook to sell my stuff not happy at all 😡😡😡😡
