“A total ripoff. First $28.99, which is supposed to be for unlocking your device; then they tell you that's only for testing to see if it can be unlocked; then I get a message that i need to pay a extra $60 dolar to unlock a device that cost $40 unlocked. TOTAL SCAM!”

“The first transaction was $25, and they said I needed to pay for the next transaction to make it work. I paid €42, but even after 7 days, they still haven't been able to deliver. They don't respond to emails, and I've lost $75. I hope someone will report this to consumer protection as soon as possible.”

“My experience was the same as the others. I paid $45 initially then they want another $45 . The website is not clear as to how much is the whole process. It very deceptive. I did have a bad feeling about it but still went ahead to see. I'm not gonna fall again for the second time by giving them a another $45. DON'T USE THIS SERVICE!!!! STAY AWAY SCAM SCAM SCAM”

“SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM RUN!!!! Read below and I’ll explain how the scam works - the ONLY actual capability they have is to blacklist devices for the financial extraction of victims as part of the scam. 5/14/23 I am testing this unlocking service and am doing updates how it progresses. I’ve read the reviews and will continuously update how this goes. Hopefully they can do what they say and it’s legit. Will update cross posts. I am SIM locked to Verizon’s network and want to unlock my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I ordered their “unlock check” today and have paid them twice. Lets see what happens. 5/16/23 - Ordered Service, paid $28 to “check” my IMEI. 5/16/23 - Got an email saying they are able to unlock my phone and to pay another…..$45. That was paid and now I have a pretty 7 day countdown timer I have access to online. Will update to five stars if it actually works. 5/17/23 Directunlocks contacts me through trustpilot and asks for my IMEI and my device is blacklisted 2 hours later. I counted the phone as a burner phone for this test so they can’t manipulate me to pay them more for fear of them placing a fraudulent blacklist on my device. I simply don’t care but my story is here as a cautionary tale to you. Just a snake oil scam.”

“Scam. Paid €70 to have my device unlocked, they could not unlock it. And refuse to give a refund - only a credit note, which is essentially useless as they’ve proven they can’t do the one thing the credit note is intended for.”

“Wow, just wow. It charged me 6.99 to tell me what I ALREADY knew. Phone at&t LOCKED. I thought 6.99 was to get my factory unlocked phone back up and running. Company said it was unlocked. At&t said it WAS locked. Then the company threatens you that if you dispute charges they will BLACKLIST your phone!They will " assume" your phone you paid good money for is stolen. How many senior citizens like ME did this happen too? There are laws in EVERY state PROTECTING our rights. So they didn't so what they claimed they would then in terms threaten YOU? WOW, just wow.”

“Direct Unluck is a Scam. First of all the website said it costs $23.99 to unlock your phone. After you pay that money, another $44.99 for the unlock code. 2 days later, they charge you another 74.99 for software and cable (I never received a Danm cable). In the end, they said the Phone is compatible with our USB unlocking software. is a Samsung S7. don't bother your self you use this website unless you want to be scammed. It will be easy for me to buy a used phone for less money.”

“I went through the whole deal and was told that they couldn't unlock my phone because it didn't ask for an unlock code. They said that I was to receive a $74 credit to use on their site. They explained another method that could be used to unlock my phone. On their site when I tried to use the credit that they had given me, it would not accept the credit and began deleting my info as quick as I could enter it. I believe that their reviews are fake and they are running a scam. I will keep on them until I get satisfaction. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income and can't afford to take a loss like this.
