Dunnes sold me eggs which were damaged and inedible, and had to be thrown away. I contacted them and asked for a refund - which is my legal right. They would not give a refund, instead they asked for my address and phone number and said they were going to give my details to the supplier. I gave my details but said I wanted a refund from Dunnes. They completely ignored this and did not reply. A week later the supplier messaged me and asked me to call them! The supplier said the eggs were perfect but they would still replace them. The eggs were not perfect - bits of shell were missing and the contents were solid. They came to my home and replaced the eggs, which was appreciated, but again they said the eggs had been perfect and I should have used them! I was not at all impressed by the way Dunnes dealt with this and contacted them to ask why they had put me in this incredibly uncomfortable situation, and why they refused to refund me. AGAIN THEY COMPLETELY IGNORED MY EMAIL AND DID NOT REPLY. This is shockingly poor. Dunnes have profited from this situation as Dunnes kept my money whilst the supplier had to replace the eggs and I was put in an awful situation having to chase a replacement when all I wanted was a refund. This is absolutely atrocious customer service as Dunnes ignored my request for a refund, and then completely ignored my emails. Absolutely appalling. They obviously do not care about customer service at all.

I ordered products online for the first time last week. It was delivered on time by a very nice man on Saturday evening. Unfortunately the delivery was missing 6 bottles of Faustino 1 wine. The delivery man told me the outstanding bottles would be delivered the following day. Four days later, three emails later, two unanswered phone calls later, I haven’t heard a thing from Dunnes. Very very disappointing.

Decent shop but staff I encountered in Dunnes Stores Cavan were very off putting and some downright rude. I know this does not represent everyone who works in Dunnes, i can only speak of my encounters with staff in Cavan.

Afternoon I bought a 300 Euro gift voucher today in Dunnes Stephens Green. I enquired about an envelope as I purchased it as a gift and got a sort of dismissive ( as I experienced it ) response of no sorry as the staff member turned away from me and was also engaging with other staff. I have purchases cards in other Dunnes Stores and they came with suitable envelopes. Bernadette

I did order online. Never received my parcel and after two months they still haven't refunded any money, saying the parcel got lost in the way back to their warehouse. Their costumer policy for refunds is no refunding money to costumer? The store should assume the loss of their parcel and give money back, not costumer. Avoid if you can

I was this afternoon in Dunnes buying one bottle of wine and cigarettes for my landlady and they asked me for my ID, I’m from Spain so I gave them the only one I have, from Spain of course. The cashier was examining the ID and asked me where it was from in a very disrespectful manner. I told him that it was from Spain and I called his manager to make sure, a man who also had no idea and asked me where the date of birth was, I showed it to him and he continued looking at the ID and my face as if it were not real, it is a behavior which made me feel very uncomfortable and not respected in the slightest since they looked at me strangely as if I were fake. I understand that not everyone knows the IDs of other countries but I leave this comment so that people keep in mind that ignorant and uneducated people work in this establishment

Recently had a few issues with quality of fresh food but out of customer loyalty I still placed another online order. My mistake! 1. Order arrived late. 2. All the chilled food was missing which was near half the order. 3. Delivery driver informed me that he did not work for Dunnes and I had to ring and sort it out myself. 4. Rang and was informed a manager would ring me back first thing which never happened. I had to ring and got through to a manager a 2.30pm. I was advised my remaining part of the order would be delivered the next day - 2 days after initial delivery was due. 5. Order arrived with half the items on this part missing too. You couldn't make this up. 6. I had to follow this up again with the store. 7. Emailed customer service with my complaint. 1 week later and no reply. Emailed again and received an extremely blasé response saying due to human error sometimes items are missing. I have not received one phone call to apologise or an attempt to keep me as a customer. There has been no apology for the fact I had to go shopping again on Monday for dinners and school lunches. Delivery came from Mullingar store

Myself and my Husband are regular customers at Dunnes Stores in Nenagh, We went in to get our Shopping last week as usual I paid for one trolley load and he was getting more so he was at the next Counter from me his bank card wouldn't work in the machine so I went to pay with mine and that wouldn't work either, so I ask the cashier to hold on a sec while I went to see would the card work in the ATM, I was putting the trolley of shopping by Customer Service while we got out the money so he could serve the Customers that were in the line behind us, the manager made a show of us ,she told us put the trolley back and when we went to the ATM she pushed it out of the way and knocked a cake off it picked it up and put it back on the trolley in bits , we got the cash from the ATM and payed for the Shopping and left the shop mortified. We went back in today to get our Shopping and say it to on of the Managers about what happened but Couldn't find anyone. The Staff are always the nicest people in nenagh Dunnes. But the Managers need to learn how to treat there Customers right, or they'll end up with none .

I changed from Tesco online shopping to Dunnes stores online shopping a few months ago as Dunnes give the 10 euro off every 50 euro spend. Even with the 10 euro off and the very pleasant & helpful delivery staff I wld not recommend changing from Tesco to Dunnes online for the following reasons. (1) I have had meat delivered with best before date same as delivery date!! (2) I have been charged for items which I ordered but were not delivered and a promise of next day delivery instead wasn't honoured . (3) They are regularly out of stock on products and this you will not know until delivery arrives, if you chose a substitution and it is more expensive they will charge u the difference where Tesco match the price of product ordered. (4) On ringing customer service with issue of non delivery of pd for goods I got the impression they were well used of hearing same and just gave std response, they were polite and apologetic but didn't deliver on promise to deliver items the following day, I emailed them also on 2 occasions and got no response so over all disappointed, Tesco is more expensive but much more reliable.

Brought back a pair of trousers which were faulty label still attached they cost £17 but when I was packing for my holiday I discovered there was nothing to keep zip up ie fastener or hook . The young man at the counter was very polite he said they’d been reduced to £3 in sale but there were none left . I hadn’t kept my receipt but was able to show transaction on my account he took the item away to speak to the manager who said the same as the assistant had said I asked to see him/her but was told that was the final answer hadn’t the decency to come and speak to me. I always assumed if goods are faulty and returned as sold the store should refund amount paid.

If I could give 0 I would. We ordered grocery online, the driver called us to open the gate what we did straight away. By the time we went outside to the gate to meet him, what took as 2 minutes he wasn't there. When we texted him we got a very very rude reply. Disgusting how we got treated, and we don't understand why. I'll make sure to tell my experience to everyone and to never buy anything from them ever again.

In a time when small and medium businesses have followed government guidelines and closed their stores and their click and collect, turning away profits and some may never reopen their doors. Dunnes think they are above the rules and are cashing in on the misfortune of SME businesses and the many many people who have died / suffered - just to increase their profit on whats already been a bumper year for them. Sad to see. As someone who likes to support Irish companies but Dunnes have proven they don't respect those that have given up so much to stay at home and prevent the Spread of Covid. I for one will be taking my weekly shop else where - We need to speak with our wallets since they haven't listened to the government, the peoples will, or the legislation.
