We have used Durham dog food for a few years with no problems but the last year we have have had a few problems. We have had packs coming up very short on weight, sometimes as much as 80grams. We have had packs that have made all our dogs sick. We have also noticed the duck mince getting pinker and more like pate than a mince the last month or so. The last batch of duck we had to return to our local raw stockists because every single pack absolutely stank of ammonia. We contacted Durham but they have not replied, not surprised given their reputation. We won't we using this company again .

I have been feeding my 5 dogs this food for nearly 3 years and have not had a problem…….until recently. Bone content I am sure is more than stated but also the size of the bones. Pieces have been as long as an inch and half inch wide, some pieces have been also been very sharp. my dogs have squealed a couple of times when toileting and have been very constipated. I now dilute with none bone meat. I emailed them and a very lovely man did call the next day and explained the way the meat was ground and what size blades were used which didn’t really mean much to me. So I saved and thoroughly washed some bone content and sent them to the County Durham office on 5th December 2023. As of yet I have not heard from them. I’m wondering whether to contact DEFRA. I know the DAF food is competitive price wise but it should still be right for our pets.

If I could leave 0 stars I would, this product is DANGEROUS DO NOT BUY, my poor Frenchie has had to have an emergency vet trip because there was so much bone in this food, what are you playing at?! We found sharp prices of bone and teeth!! This should be illegal, we woke up in the middle of the night to her projectile vomiting out of her crate and has been throwing up yellow froth for 2 days since and has gone off her food entirely, we are now scrambling to find an alternative product that is suited to her allergies and she’s having to eat raw store bought turkey and beef mince until we can find an alternative, and she is allergic to beef and turkey! We are appalled and will be taking things further legally.

Dangerous !!!! Beware, high nine content, sharp bones and too much that compacts and causes the need for surgery to remove !!! Dog currently having surgery to try to remove it all as he’s bleeding. They won’t be paying your vets bill or caring if your dogs harmed - avoid!!!!

Delivery driver left frozen order on doorstep without knocking, we have a sign on the door for sales canvassers or cold callers to not knock, so he chose not to. Not a call to say the order is outside, in the 32° heatwave! It was left there for an hour! 2 previous orders they managed to deliver so why not today? I opened the order to slits in the packets and mushy defrosted food falling on the floor. I contacted customer service who seemed rude and stuck up with the driver?!? They offered an exchange to which I asked what date, then I have had no response since, half a day later, when my dog's need a delivery as they have no food! There is no compassion or empathy whatesover. They seem to not care about retaining loyal customers, I will not be using these again and will advise people to stay away.

I have been using this product for almost 1 year and I am extremely satisfied with the quality of the raw minces, and I mostly try to order products with bones in. The coarse meat is nice and chunky, the bone pieces have never been a problem, it all gets digested as expected. I think the prices are very competitive and reasonable. I do wait for the monthly discounts before ordering. Our courier services always deliver on time and drivers are always pleasant. Southern area. Puppies are weaned straight onto raw, and bones including chicken bones are introduced at 5 weeks of age. I thoroughly recommend Durham Feeds raw products.

May 2023 Placed a order for 1x1.5kg. When the order came to be delivered they realised they didn't have enough so they tried to contact me one on a Friday afternoon and left no message when i missed the call. So i was unaware of any issue and on the delivery day a few days later 30x454g showed up which is 1.4kg short of what i ordered. Rang them up to query this and was told " they ran out of 1.5kg and tried to get hold of me and couldn't so substituted my product with a more expensive product to the same amount of money " Not offered any form of apology wont be buying from them again. they also claim they left a message when they definitely did not.

April 2023. A Nice coarse mince, not mushy or like a pat'e, no foreign bodies detected. Bones included in the minces are a perfectly manageable size and not a problem.(although bone in minces are not always suitable for very young or small puppies. ) Bone less minces are fine for young and small puppies. No nasty smells, just a fresh raw meat smell. Tripe has a smell of it's own, PHEW ! but the dogs love it. I have no objection to minced trachea, gristle, or other bodily parts, this all has a nutritional value and I believe quiet acceptable in raw minces. Unfortunately prices are rising quiet a lot at the moment, but so is everything these days! Delivery has always arrived within our time slot or if we are out, left where requested. Our driver is very polite and very helpful. (Southern, Portsmouth/Southampton run) I have never had to return anything or ask for refund. Just a lovely product, Thank you.

Absolutely disgusting. Far too much bone. Stinks dog threw up after eating this niluck. Will never buy again. The customer service is appalling when I spoke to them they don’t care say it’s good and should buy premium.

Poor customer service! I received a phone call 4 or 5 days after ordering to tell me that they were out of stock and didn't know when they would likely get them next in. Rather than apologise for the inconvenience and suggest an alternative (our puppy is struggling with the bones and is not eating) in a polite and caring way, They just asked me what I wanted to do, to which I replied... "find another company" which is what I'll be doing. I presume the company are so oversubscribed that they don't need to care about their customers, especially new ones that are nervous about the whole process.

I bought product from this company. I phoned to confirm money had been taken and my stock confirmed. When it comes time to deliver my product, I am told my product is no longer available as they have sold my product to someone else so they are double dipping. Dont trust them with a barge pole as they are either crooks or are so amateur they cant keep a simple spreadsheet. trading standards have confirmed to me when you buy a product it is yours and the company has no right to re sell. speaking to the manager she lost it and started shouting at me saying I was shouting at her. no doubt after this review I will be band from purchasing off them again.

Been using DAF for a year now. Beef tripe only and our Pattajack loved it. However the last batch we bought is totally different, it has great chunks of white gristle, smells different and our dog won’t touch it. And funny, we went into our local Jolleys pet shop where we buy the food from and the DAF freezer was completely empty, with no more due apparently. We are now stuck with 6 packs of inedible raw food and we have to find an alternative that our dog will eat. I also cant find an email to complain to.

Please be very careful if you use this product. I received as a substitute from my supplier who was out of stock of one of my normal proteins. I suspect the bone content is much higher than stated and found the bone fragments to be sharp. I would never use this product.

Always helpful on the phone, food is good 80/10/10 composition which I believe to be a good mix and reasonably priced, delivery is made whilst myself and wife are at work so they always put the boxes in our large recycling bin in front of our garage, and most of all our dogs love it. all in all brilliant!!!

No idea what is happening with their complete minces recently, last night I pulled an inch long sharp bone out the pork & tripe mince. Last week I purchased 4 boxes & all have big bits of bone in them & definitely not 10% bone like it says it is. I’m having to fish out all the big bits of bone it’s like the grinder hasn’t been working properly. Very dangerous & disappointing wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

I was with Durham Animal Feeds for 2 years and left because they kept running out of my choices. Returned 2 months ago and the delivery driver removed secured chains and opened the gate. Fortunately Casper was inside. He has no car sense and will run outside towards cars. Both Sally and Sophie the South West manager were unapologetic and said I should have a sign on the gate not to remove the chains. Really! They deliver dog food for heavens sake. Also the wild boar is completely full of bones and my dogs poo was full of bones. The driver swore at me. They are awful people with awful food.

We have been using this company for about 3 years now and have been happy with the service. There have been a couple of issues which we chose not to chase up but having reported it to the driver and the driver reporting it to the office no contact was made. 1 issue was that one of their drivers hit our new drive way wall and cracked all the mortar and another was the return of a box of food which had caused issues with all 3 of my dogs one blotted up and increased weight by 6kg in 2 weeks. I returned the box with the drive and he promised someone would contact me, no contact was made and no exchange or refund give, but as I have said I didn't chase these issues up. On the last 2 deliveries the driver has not rang the intercom on the gate and dumped the 8 boxes of food over the gate which broke the sensor and left the gate wide open to the property. Due to heavy rain the boxes became wet. I did report this as it was a security, the girl I spoke to took the complaint and the response was that the driver didn't throw the boxes over and there where no instructions on the order, "after 3yrs of custom and deliveries every 2 weeks I think they know to press the gate and it can be opened from anywhere in the world", also he would of had to be 7ft tall to be able to place the boxes over the gate which is on a hill. I replied and asked if this could be passed to a director, I have heard nothing since. Customer service NIL. I WONT BE USING YOU AGAINS. DELIVERIES ARE MADE TO QUITE A LOT OF PEOPLE IN THE AREA AND AS A FREQUENT DOG WALKER I WILL BE INFORMING THEM OF THE ISSUES
