Avoid Easirent like the plague. I rented a car from them at "Gatwick" (they are quite a long way from Gatwick, by the way). When I picked up the car I asked for the location of the nearest petrol station so that I could fill up on my return. I was given verbal directions, but on my return journey I failed to find the petrol station. As I was very close to Easirent and wanted to make the next shuttle bus back to the airport, I drove into their office with the intention of getting directions and then re-filling, or paying them to do it if it wasn't going to be too expensive. The person who dealt with me first was extremely helpful and explained that (unsurprisingly) it would be very expensive for them to fill the car. He directed me to a nearby supermarket even offered to run me to the airport if I missed the bus whilst filling up! What brilliant service I thought!. However, at this point the manager interrupted and insisted that once I was on their premises I was deemed to have returned the car would not allowed be to leave again. He was rude and belligerent. The rest of the staff were clearly embarrassed and looked a bit intimidated by his bullying manner. He took the key and hurriedly ordered the clerk to debit my card for the fuel without my agreement. He then told me that there was nothing that I could do about it as it is all in the terms and conditions (the last refuge of the rip-off merchant). It's a pity that they have managers like this because the other staff seem very helpful.

The sales rep that I dealt with at Edinburgh airport was decent and nice enough, however I chose this renting option as it was slightly cheaper than any others when flying home for Christmas from Sydney (usually do not go for the cheaper option on anything and WILL NOT again!). On arrival, the money for the car had already been deposited from my Australian account, and if it wasn't I would have went to Europcar or another supplier on the same day. As I have great credit I DO NOT have/own any credit cards and this is a major downfall of using Easirent as if you do not own a credit card you MUST TAKE INSURANCE OPTION upon arrival and these are £139 or £169 + £30 to be able to hand car back with empty tank (which they gave me 1/4 tank which is worth less than £15). By taking an option that was less than $100 AUD less than the major competitors, it cost me upon arrival an extra £169 before I even left the airport, so almost doubled the overall price of the rental when converting back into AUD!!! I asked if I could use my partners credit card, and was told that it had to be in the name I booked the car through which I also found ridiculous as the rep went out of his way to add revenue onto my booking, obviously for personal target purposes! ***THIS INFORMATION IS FOUND ON THE 3RD PAGE OF SMALL PRINT T&Cs IN THE CONTRACT BUT IS NOT MENTIONED ON ANY AGGREGATOR SITES IN T&C WHICH IS CONVENIENT*** Note to self - do not use the cheapest, or cheaper option on anything from now on, and note to the company, what a scam, and people are realising this as you publicise reviews from TrustPilot (7/10) and not TripAdvisor (2/5). Major note to self - Don't ever use this company again.

We booked in April, when we checked a few days before collection we were told the booking had been cancelled because they needed a deposit and had been unable to contact us by phone. We have caller id, call guardian and an answering machine, no one had rung and they had our email address from the booking. At first they offered nothing, until we said we needed a car, so after an hour or so and a further chase up, they confirmed they'd have something for us. We arrived to collect a 7 seat MPV and was given a 9 seat long wheelbase mini bus, which they insisted was an upgrade. Sorry not an upgrade when you get a van instead of a car. On initial looks they seem competitive, but when you take the extra mileage, insurance etc into consideration, they aren't.

(1) Their branch at Manchester Airport is not at Manchester Airport at all. Neither Expedia not Easirent make any attempt to mention that the airport is off junction 5 of the M56, while this branch is in The Marriott Hotel off junction 6. Confirmation emails don't mention it either. (2) On this first occasion of hiring the car I was told at the desk that I needed a DVLA code. No mention of this in the confirmation email. (3) On another occasion they gave me a car smelling of cigarette smoke. (4) On another occasion again, they gave me a car where the screenwash was empty - which I learned an hour into the journey when trying to clear the windscreen. (5) Then after 4 occasions of hiring cars with them, and bringing each vehicle back on time and in very good condition, I tried hiring a van. I pre-booked it online with my Visa debit card. That same Visa debit card that I had successfully used with them on all 4 previous occasions, to pay all costs including deposits. But this time at the desk the girl said I could note pay the deposit except by credit card. I have no credit card. And on all 4 previous occasions they were happy to use that debit card for the deposit. So the girl did a credit check on me which I failed. So I was refused this van hire even though I had used that same debit card for all costs on all occasions previously! And then because I had pre-booked the van they charged me for the hire anyway - how funny, they had no hesitation to accept my debit card then! Surprise surprise! It's a shame really because I am a very reliable customer with funds to pay. So on a couple of later occasions I have hired vans with SIXT - and they will accept my debit card. Steer clear of Easirent.

The fuel charge is a complete R I P off. All it states when booking, is fuel to be charged at collection. BS. You have to pay £30 fixed fee, irrespective of the amount of fuel in the car. Why don't they just provide a full tank and you return with a full tank, simples. . . . Why, because charging you £30 is earning money for them. It brings the cost of the hire more in line with other renters. My car was dirty. When I asked why?? Oh, it's been parked out back under the trees. So how do flies get stuck on the windscreen with it just sitting under those trees, more BS. Made it difficult to pick out minor blemishes on the bodywork. Ok when you collect but they use a fine tooth comb when you return. A real amateur company who should be avoided at all costs.

If renting from "Manchester Airport" DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE INITIAL LOW RENTAL COSTS! Firstly they're not actually based at the airport! All other car hire firms are in a dedicated area close to the terminals which has a very regular free shuttle bus service, but Easirent's office is several miles away in a Marriot hotel. They advertise a shuttle car service to their office, but I was told it would be at least 30 mins before they could collect me so I had to get a taxi at my own cost (£7). It isn't possible to walk as there are no footpaths/pavements for large stretches of the journey along/beside the M56 motorway. Also unless you take out their extortionate £16/day insurance they will charge a CDW deposit of £1500, PLUS they will actually take the money from your card (unlike almost all other car hire firms). So you will have to have either that amount of money in your account (if using a debit card) or that amount of available credit (if using a credit card), which of course reduces your available credit balance for the entire duration of your hire! I have annual car hire insurance which is no problem for any other car hire company, but Easirent refused to reduce their CDW deposit unless I bought their insurance. I have read on many other forums stories of them sometimes taking several days to refund customers' CDW deposits and charging customers for spurious 'damage' to vehicles. Luckily I had no problems with the car I hired, but friends who hired from them in 2014 were expected to take a car that had a flat tyre and clearly not roadworthy! On a positive note all of the staff I dealt with were very friendly and helpful. I just hope that Easirent realise their business model of capturing customers with what see like great initial rates then hitting them with hidden costs is highly flawed. I, like many others I'm sure, won't be hiring from them again!

one of the worst places I rented from I was forced to purchase there insurance even tho I had full coverage the agent lied and said it was a Texas law and that I would not be able to get the rental car. If you want to get scammed and pay more dont come to this place. I talked to the manager upon returning the car and she told me that I did not need to purchase the insurance and she sent in for me to get a refund for the insurance. It is ridiculous that I even had to go through this where is the employee integrity just so he can get a couple extra dollars but not my money!!! so just be careful if you do rent from this place I most definitely will never come back here again.

The worst experience of my life. I was told I could not leave their lot without their insurance because I didn't have a copy of my insurance deck page. That I had to use their sunpass at $12 per day because they took down the cash booths. I was even shown a picture. I was told if I bought a sunpass at the store it would work and I'd have to pay them $25 per day. I was going to get another rental but Stephon told me they had already charged my card for the full trip and there were no refunds. Even though I hadn't signed or taken possession of their vehicle yet. Run as fast as you can from these people. I watched them take care of a non english speaking customer next to me. They explained all the bogus charges to her and took her credit card. Even though she kept telling them she didn't understand. It is less expensive to use another service, even though they start out more expensive, because of all the bogus fee's they tack on.

Worst Ever! Avoid it seriously they have put me through the grinder with insurance trying to upselll me. Watched them charge people more for going across the border, fees for everything and a huge line. Trust me I travel a lot it’s not worth the $5 you save from booking with reputable company!

Hired a vehicle to be picked up from the airport. Received email and voucher with instructions on what to do at the airport. Upon arrival at the airport I followed the instructions and called the car hire provider on the number provided. The car hire firm easirent.com did not answer the phone. After frequent calling and getting no reply we had to take a taxi from the airport to our destination. Upon calling easirent the next morning I was firstly told that I did not phone the previous evening, told them I could provide evidence of calls, then they told me that no one would have been in the office at the time of calling and finally I was told that no car was available as one had not been booked and to take it up with the broker. I phoned economybookings.com and was told by the person I spoke to that I would have to send an email regarding my situation. Whole Easter break was ruined as my family and I were unable to book a hire car and also could not visit family. Five days later and I am still awaiting a response from economybookings.com plus refund of money.

Worst car rental experience ever. We rented a car in Las Vegas location. The price is low but you pay in other ways. We got to the rental location and waited on a ramp outside. Thinking the line was not that bad but we waited over 2 hours just to have the chance to talk to an employee. With three employees working , one scanning documents , the line barely moved. It was no more than 15 people in line. Why would it take 2 hours. Only blessing it was nice weather and not raining standing in line outside. So many people walked away from their rental which I think they wanted us all too. Found out they hardly accept most insurance companies so had to pay extra. If you wanted to leave the state it was $150 extra. Everything was extra. Don’t waste your time and spend more money at another car rental place. Awful experience. The wait for over 2 hours made us change our plans for the day. Not worth it.

If there was lower than 1 star Easirent would get it! Dear Customer Care Team… My rental experience with your company was nothing short of THE WORST CAR RENTAL EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! I sent an email to customer care 2 weeks ago with no response, so thanks for finally responding. I had rented the car through Expedia, I was running late to pick up, I called to advise. I sat on hold for over 40 mins which put me over pick up time. By the time I got through they said it was a no show and the reservation was nonrefundable. I explained I was on my way and would be there within 15 mins. Juan, who I spoke to would not call the location, the whole experience was very sketchy. I have rented cars my entire career and I have never experienced anything like dealing with your organization. I showed up, 11 people in line , most with an issue and the counter staff for some reason either wanting to charge them more, take ridiculous deposits on credit cars while two employees on the far counter were swearing and using the F word constantly. 3 people in front of me walked out and away from their deposits, which I am beginning to think is your business model. It is interesting that as my rental is non refundable the car should be mine for the entire reservation... it is paid for and if I chose to rent a car and leave it in your lot for two days...my choice. What is this "non refundable no show" there is no policy on Expedia and nothing on your site. Pure money grab and questionable business practice. I have left a Google review; I will never rent from your company again. I will do my utmost to ensure no one I know will book through you and will take every opportunity to tell anyone not to book with your company. Your business practices are abhorrent, and your service levels are below any I have experienced. It is also interesting that there are 4 different business names used to rent a car at your location… Tampa is an international airport, and I am saddened that many international travellers first experience is with your organization. May the rest of their trips be far more positive.

We have a pending authorization of $500 that has been pending for 20 days now. We booked this car 6 months in advance and when we arrived they told us they had no cars available except for a convertible mustang. We had 5 large suitcases and had no where to put them! They did not take us out to our car or do anything else to accommodate us in way shape or form. The sold us a $15 toll pass that we DID NOT NEED! We had the car for less than 8 hours and only drove it to our hotel room and back . It took them an hour to pick us up from the airport and rudely loaded the people that showed up after us before us and took care of them at the desk before us---and they took over an hour because they had not credit card or insurance!!! positively the worst car rental company in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reserved a car for a week out of Houston Bush Airport. Did not receive en email confirmation within 15 minutes as stated on website, tried calling both reservations and customer service numbers and was hung up on 6 times. Tried website option “manage my reservation” and cancel button didn’t work. Emailed and did online chat to cancel and finally had AMEX reverse the payment. Would rate “zero” stars if possible for this scam if a rental car company.

The rental agency is NOT located at the airport. We waited 45 minutes for the shuttle to pick us up from the airport and take us to the car rental place. The staff was pleasant but if you didn’t have physical proof of your own car insurance they added an additional $400 to the rental price. I left my sunglasses in the armrest and called them at least 20 times to no avail. I was only able to speak with a live person three times and each time they told me that they would check the lost & found and the car. Did not receive any information or call back from Easirent. I rented the car through Booking.com and did not know what car rental company was selected. Never ever again. Complete lack of customer service.

Worst rental experience I’ve ever had. Extremely long wait for a shuttle to car lot. After arriving at 7:00am to return the car, we discovered the office wasn’t open until 8 (no notice). Had to pay another company to take us to the airport. Awful customer service. We will NEVER use this company again.

Autin- This star is for the kind woman who helped us make the best of this terrible situation. The shuttle never picked us up, and we waited for 30 minutes. Then we had to buy insurance for close to twice the amount it was advertised for: $26 and it was $45. We also waited close to an hour for a car. Pay the extra money and go to another rental company. It will be worth it every time.
