“The service and care is first class. The staff are absolute professionals and really know their stuff! From the excellent eye examination I received to helping me choose the best glasses and lens type to suit my needs I could not have been in better hands. I made the mistake of changing opticians for a couple of years and having now had a fantastic service at Eye Academy with my return visit I’m not going to change again.”

“The eye academy staff were really welcoming, professional and knowledgeable. My eye assess was really detailed and I’m so happy with my new glasses- they make reading so much easier and more comfortable. I’m so glad I made an appointment! I had waited for a very long time due to not being able to afford to pay for the appointment and glasses as it was very expensive. But when is finally saved up it was really worth it and has greatly improved my quality of life, and a simple routine opticians appointment would not have picked up on the eye issues that needed correcting.”

“After the chaos caused by the pandemic it was reassuring to get back to a normal eye check-up. I found Mr Yasen 'chairside manner' very friendly and unhurried. As the examination progressed I was very impressed by his willingness to give detailed answers and medical explanations to any questions I raised. It was a very enjoyable 45 minutes. So much better than visiting the dentist! At the spectacle fitting I found Tracey Gore equally attentive. In fact my only gripe would be the cost. Everyone has to earn a living but I just wish the price of glasses was much cheaper.”

“Having specifically searched for specialist opticians and optometrists in Surrey I found Ellis and Thompson so decided to give them a call. Firstly, the receptionist Rebecca was absolutely fantastic. She listened, empathised, understood, and initially explained that they were fully booked but said that as I was keen to visit asap, she would speak to the senior optometrist on site and get back to me within half an hour which she did. Rebecca suggested upon her call back that I book in with Romana who is the senior optometrist and said they could fit me in that afternoon due to a cancellation. Rebecca explained what the Platinum Eye Exam would entail (this was what was recommended as well as what I wanted) and I went along. What can I say? Romana was beyond fantastic!! Thorough is an understatement - she listened to every word, carried out numerous specialist tests, and was extremely kind which is something I truly value and appreciate. No question was too much (I asked a lot!!) She explained everything thoroughly, even gave me some eye exercises to do, and her service was far beyond any optician I have ever visited before. She has specialist knowledge that goes further than straight forward eye examinations. I even had a question that I forgot to ask so called shortly after my appointment and Romana answered patiently without making me feel like I was bothering her at all. I was so grateful! Thank you Ellis and Thompson, your entire team are amazing people who make someone feel truly valued and you all take time in everything you do. I will absolutely recommend to everyone I know!”

“High street opticians be aware you have serious competition from the Eye Academy!! This was my second visit and as before the service was excellent. I received expert advice regarding my eyes and although there was minimal change required to my eyesight I purchased another pair of glasses. The advice given reference the new frames has resulted in yet another pair of glasses that suit my personality. Will look forward to purchasing a pair of optical sunglasses next year following yet further advice. Well done!”

“I received a very friendly and professional service from all at Eye Academy. The receptionist was very welcoming and had my records to hand. The OCT scan was expertly carried out as was my eye test. On this occasion I did not need new prescription glasses but was given lots of important and useful information to help protect my eyesight for the future. All Covid 19 rules were adhered to so all in all an enjoyable hour!”

“We have tried some of the "high street" opticians who shall remain nameless but since 2019 we have been to Underwood Eyecare in Ferndown and could not be happier. The premises are well set out immaculately kept and there is a very calm and peaceful atmosphere. All of the team are very friendly, knowledgeable, polite and make you feel valued. Particular praise for Ali who carried out our eye examination yesterday. A thoroughly pleasant young man who talked through every procedure and explained what is was for. Very competent and took the time to make you feel important. Thank you to you all, we will be back next year”
