Good price quote, generally happy with app and documents sent in the post. We are on a telematics policy and the app only goes so far in explaining how it all works. Some times our scores are vastly different for the same roads and very similar driving technique. Some times we got 0 speed score despite never speeding. Would be nice if it could give more feedback, ie roads that are higher risk or that the app would prefer less speed on.

I think it’s absolutely disgusting that you can only communicate with the company when your involved in an accident.

Their costs and feedback on renewal are adequate so i have no negative comments to make at this stage. I have not had to make a claim whilst insured with GA so I have no real comment on how good or bad their help will be when they are really required to.

I took the internet only option and bitterly regretted it. GA simply blocked off all other methods of communication and refused to respond to any queries. If you did not fit into their program then they could not be communicated with. I wanted to change driver details and found it hopeless. Their systems are designed for IT specialists only which I am not. Never again!

Having not claimed in 57 years I cannot say a lot about any insurance company I have been with.One thing I will say is after a better offer by my previous company I could not cancel with GA online because an error occurred every time I tried so I smelt a rat here

I asked them to send me the policy documents for my insurance and also asked them to send the same to my sisters address who I also insured. They said that they would, but they have not bothered.

Easy to deal with, everything's online and simple Unfortunately when going to renew my insurance they wanted to charge me a additional £265 from the year previous. Even when I said that I had other companies offering £450 cheaper than them I was told nothing can be done and that's the best quote they could give me. Disappointing.

The policy has breakdown cover. When I broke down at home RAC - who run this service for GA said they had no record of us being on the system. Between calls to RAC and GA the number for whom it took quite a time to locate. In the end GA agreed to contact RAC to validate our policy. They then advised of a 2 to 3 hour waiting time for assistance. I cancelled the call and called out a local garage - £29 call out fee for some thing I have already paid for. I will not be renewing with them and you should be more careful who you recommend to your clients. This experience was appalling

I have been insured with General Accident for a couple of years and was very pleased to receive my renewal quote which was £20 less than last year if I renewed on line. Unfortunately my partner died suddenly and I went to delete him off the policy as a named driver. It then came us as £50 more than the original online quote. OK so I have to pay £30 more for removing my deceased partner from the policy but it also appears I have lost my £20 discount. I have e-mailed them several times with regard to this problem and unable to speak to me on phone.

Fortunately haven't got any claims but would like to see continuous customer service over phone rather than 30 days and less cost of premium for 40yrs driving and no accident but 6yrs no claims bonus maybe more cheaper on renewal. Overall good company

After completing this application online and especially that i had been driving a company motor for previous 8 years the quote allowed for the FULL NCD entitlement and protected discount, on receiving paperwork through it then asked to forward on Proof of NCD which was only allowed from private motoring and would not accept confirmation letter from company motor insurer that no claims in last 8 years, when contacting GA was told that this was not acceptable and because of type of car would not be able offer insurance and would have to cancel this policy ( for a FEE ) because of early cancellation, I would not have bought this from them if I had known this, after all I did disclose all information seriously think they need to change the system so it does not allow this to happen, especially when you are up front on the application stating that NCD coming from company motor driving

I had need to contact GA to make a claim for a minor incident. I requested that I should make contact with my local repairer to provide an estimate for the repair required. It was m,ade quite clear to me that if I did not wish to use their recommended repairer I would have to pay an additional £250.00 I always choose a policy that has either a NIL Excess or as small as possible, to find that an additional excess payment was expected in order to select where I wanted the repair carried out was extremely irritating and I will not be choosing GA in future to insure our vehicles.

The one thing that holds this company back is the inability to contact them regarding new quotes or changing your current quote. At various times througout the last few months I have tried changing my policy to suit a new car, at times the online service wouldn't let me do what I was asking for, I wouldn't mind this as much if there was a number to call and talk to an actual human being about the problem. Unfortunately this insurance company does not offer this service therefore resulting in prompting me to think of venturing elsewhere when it comes to my renewal.
