If I could give them NO STARS for their messed-up service, I would. Got a phone threw Obama care and it has never worked properly if at all. spent 3 hours on a friend's phone to call customer service and just kept getting put on hold and then hung up on. They take this federal money to provide service to low-income people and provide nothing. There has to be a law against this someplace and when I find it, I will attempt to but GEN MOBILE OUT OF BUSINESS! They are not just ripping off the federal government but the people whom the program was intended to help

This is the most horrible service I have ever had…….. they are with sprint services, also when I call representatives they are rude and never helps with the situation there is no way I have unlimited talk txt and data and is getting my calls cut off and dropped. I been with them almost a month I will be leaving this service and contacting a lawyer beware of this serivice this is the most horrible service ever go to AT&T T-Mobile or even Verizon……

Terrible service! I bought a faulty gen mobile phone.It keeps hanging up on calls.Customer care is inexperienced.My number from previous carrier they did not know how to port it over to gen mobile.Do not become a gen mobile customer or you will regret.Beware!

Phone was originally shipped with wrong area code which took hours with customer service to fix. Then the initial set up was done incorrectly so the phone cannot use Wi-Fi calling. More hours with customer service. I finally decided to cancel my service entirely. Do yourself a favor, avoid GenMobile.

On August 2nd, 2022 I encountered a few guys in my local Walmart that offered phone services through Gen Mobile. They offered free phones as well as feature improved phone for an additional fee. I upgraded the phone option and paid the fee to have enhanced quality. After I got home and decided to activate and transfer my current phone number to the new phone service, I contacted the customer service for assistance. The representative attempted to assist me, but when she sent the command to port the number the phone was immediately disconnected and has not begun working again. I have contacted customer service upwards of 30 times since, to no avail. No one has been able to rectify this matter. I have been told several times that the matter has been escalated and sent to the tech department, the supervisor ect. and not once have I received a call back. I would really like have the situation corrected, but I am also willing to just get a refund for the purchase if a solution cannot be met.

Signed up for free service, to then turn around less than a month not being able to receive or send calls.(busy signal)to then be told my account is deactivated and would have to pay if I want the service. To me the quality of the phone is thin and flimsy color of the screen is not bright. I think I am going to throw the phone in the garbage. If you decide to try this phone out, please probe with questions because this is not free.

Gen Mobile offers prepaid phone service with plans starting as low as $10 a month. Eligible customers can also receive a free Android smartphone and free mobile phone service through the Affordable Connectivity Program(ACP). Customers can be deactivated from the ACP if they are no longer eligible or using their ACP benefit with another provider. Customers no longer receiving an ACP benefit with Gen Mobile have the option of purchasing a prepaid plan to keep their Gen Mobile service.

Gen Mobile service is the worst I've ever experienced. Section 33 Terms and conditions for usage as an ACP provider is unlawful, deceitful and bad business. Worse than stealing from the government, Gen Mobile service is not worth the chat time with a Rep. to get phone service turned back on after they randomly turn it off, at their Sole Discretion, is cheating customers, and Jeopardizes the integrity of the ACP program. I recommend a full FCC investigation of this 'business' and if Dishwireless is the parent company, shame on them for letting Gen Make operate under their umbrella. Do not buy or accept a Blu G40, nor sign up with Gen Mobile under any circumstances. Live chat and speaking by phone to resolve service issues since 1.30.24 is an insult to me, the ACP program, and anyone else who has experienced bad service.

I was scammed in Phoenix AZ by a Gen Mobile representative that's going door to door at our complex. I was interested in the tablet only, but he said I qualify for the tablet & phone bundle.. but I didn't have any interest in the phone because I have a phone.. so the guy says there is a $40 fee for the tablet and that's when I said, I'm not interested any more because of the fee.. And I asked him from the beginning will it affect my current ACP and he said "NO" which was a lie! I had a feeling that I couldn't have ACP on my current phone and then the tablet he was offering.. He was a Liar and a scammer because after I told him I didn't want the tablet I found out through my current ACP provider that my current service was transferred to GEN MOBILE and He also issued me a phone number to a PHONE that I NEVER received because I told him I didn't want the tablet or the phone because of the $40 fee. I'm NOT KNOWING, after he left.. HE MADE AN ACCOUNT with my INFORMATION and I lost my current ACP because of his LIES & SCAM. This is the WORST COMPANY that has DISHONEST REPS selling phones & tablets that are supposed to be free to low income people and then taking our personal information and making accounts and not giving us a phone or a tablet. And when I LOGGED in on the PORTAL for GEN MOBILE his scamming a** had made a FAKE EMAIL to my account. JUST THE WORST

Only had service 3 weeks, woke up one morning and phone didn't have service.Got on the app, and said my account was canceled.Said I had transferred to another provider.which I hadn't. The service SUCKS.

Sorry for the experience. If you have Affordable Connectivity Program(ACP) service through Gen Mobile, your benefit will be disconnected if are notified that you decided to transferred to another provider. You can get information on your status by contacting the ACP helpline at (877) 384-2575.

This company no good scam artist.Took my money never sent two Sim card the first Sim lasted 6hrs. The second one never came then tell me they can't refund my money DON'T use this company NEVER!!

The WORST phone service I have ever had!!!!! I would give it a zero star if I could. The phones DO NOT WORK! Literally, I lost two jobs because the boss could not get a hold of me, or the call dropped or the phone would not call out. It should be ILLEGAL for this company to be giving away such USELESS phones!!!! JUST SAY NO! DON'T EVEN BOTHER GETTING ONE! THEY WILL LEAVE YOU STRANDED AND BROKE!

Gen Mobile customer service number no one answers, I couldn't get in touch with this company to cancel, the person who represented this company was not trained properly. I made a complaint with FCC whistle blower to intervene on my behalf. Stay clear of GEN MOBILE

My phone was stolen and a Gen Mobile agent told me that they don't send replacement phones so I have to buy a whole new phone.

Idk who runs this company but I thank goodness I looked at the reviews first please understand that these awful reviews has caused me to take back my decision to get service with this company there is no way all these reviews are wrong but the old saying says you get what you pay for but just because it's free you shouldn't treat ppl this way and also beware of people in stores trying to offer you free phones because they don't care they get paid for how many people they trick into signing up so yes they will tell you anything to get you to sign up but please be advised that it will cancel your ACP eligibility with any company you are with so if you do decide to go with this company it will affect your ACP eligibility with other companies but nevertheless the reviews were helpful and to see no response to the complaints shows the lack of care and concerns they have for they're customers.

Representatives were in town giving away the "free" phones, also selling a better quality phone for $30.00, I bought the $30.00 phone...Big mistake! After spending a lot of time there (they had multiple problems with getting the phone activated for me as well as trying to take care of quite a few other people that stopped to sign up) After getting home the phone i paid for would not work, I tried several times making "test" calls, phone would not make or receive calls, I drove back to the site where they were and stated i wanted a refund/the phone was not working, first they told me they would not refund my money because i already became a customer, well that made no sense. They said i needed to leave the phone with them and come back in an hour. I returned an hour later and they gave me 2 options; I could either let them keep the phone to bring it for repair, they stated the phone was in fact broken, or offered a refund of my $30.00 and give me one of the "free" phones. I chose the refund of course and agreed to take the "free" phone, they gave me my $30 back and one of the "free" phones, during the process of them activating the phone, I asked them 3 TIMES if this was in any way going to affect my "lifeline" status that I had with my Internet service provider, all 3 times when I asked, both of the ladies stated "No, it would not" After waiting again a long period of time they gave me the phone saying it was all set, all activated and I was then on my way home after 3 trips there! Well this morning I get an email from my Internet service provider stating this......."You’re no longer enrolled in the Affordable Connectivity Program through Spectrum. You may have chosen to end your participation in the program, or you no longer meet the program requirements, according to the FCC" So now I have to go through leaps and hoops to get all of this resolved and get my Internet service discount re-instated with my Internet service provider as I need that to continue, Needless to say i am going to make a formal complaint. Beware of the "free phone" promotions and get all the facts before you are a victim of a nightmare mess!

Worst cell phone provider ever. Will not at all answer phone to service their customers at all. Also will not return a call. I simply want to find out how to get more data and no one will answer or return call now for over two weeks

My phone has not worked ever sense i got gen mobile. Paying 25$ a month and i cant even use it. I called and all the workers said different things witch it turns out my question and a search bar found the exact thing after 20 seconds.
