THIS IS A SCAM I tried twice to reserve a car through GOTrentalCars.com and on the 3rd time I receieved my booking voucher, I arrived at the airport after a 10 hour flight with 2 children in tow and waited 45 min in the que to be told that they cancelled my reservation BUT GotRentalCars.com charged the full amount to my card and I can't through to anyone to get a refund THIS COMPANY IS AN ABSOLUTE SCAM!!!!!!! DO NOT USE !!!!!

I rented a car with this company, I prepaid it. At pick up the rental company (Budget) couldn't find the booking. I had to rent another car for 3 times the amount I booked before. Budget tried to call the company, but nobody picked up the phone, we tried the USA number and the European number several times. Also on email they don't respond. Now the rental has cost me 1700€ for 6 days, a simple car! After several complaints, still no respond! Never rent with this company. It's really a shame!

AVOID...Horrible company. I booked a car online using a debit card - they took the money without any issue. I read the confirmation which said there would be deposit required and i called back asking about that. The gentleman told me it was refundable and payable at the checkout counter by credit card. I told him my son was renting the car and didn't have a credit card. He said the card had to be in his name in which I replied he didn't have a credit card and would have to use his debit/credit card - he never told me that would not work. When we arrived last night to get the card - the agent told us a debit card could not be used. She suggested we reach the company we rented from and have it changed to my name with my son being an additional driver. We tried to reach them for 30 mins receiving a message that all agents were busy and to leave a message and they would call us back. We left over 30 messages - never received a call back. We kept trying and finally received a message saying they were closed and to call back during working hours. Who does business for car rentals at airports where people come in at all hours of the night and not have 24 hour support. The agent at the car rental place told us to speak with them today and tell them we did not qualify for the rental. She said since we did not qualify - they are suppose to refund our money. We contacted them today and was told they would not give us a refund. So we spent $300 on a rental car that we were never able to get. This company sucks - NEVER use them.

got to the airport to collect the car, Budget didn't have a car ready, asking me to wait 4-5 hours - told them where to go flipping company without contact detail, no one answer the calls, will raise a charge back with the credit card

Booked on 4th July for a rental starting 21st July and they cancelled my booking on 20th July @ 7.30pm. Ridiculous company. Don't use

Paid online for a rental car only to get a call that the car was not even available and then told that I had to wait 10 working days for a refund, which meant that I couldn’t book another car, zero help on the phone, atrocious scam company.

Would have given 0 rating if possible. GotRental completely messed up our tip by giving us the wrong information regarding the minimum driving license validity. We were told that the minimum driving license validity should be 1 year (which is also written in the email we received - screenshots attached), however when we reached at the Budget pick up point at Belfast city airport - they said they cannot let us hire the car as the minimum validity is 2 years. Also, tried calling on the number 02073737354, where the agent said to forward the email with 1 year validity, which I did and he then said that it could have been amended by us - not sure why would I lie about this, fly all the way from london, book AirBnBs around Northern Ireland - I am not that stupid to assume I would have been able to rent a car with my license when I would have been told that needed 2 years license validity. The agent on the phone also said that he was powerless and could not help us and that we should fill in this complaints form. The agent also said that I’ll receive a call from a supervisor, which I would most certainly require at this stage and that too asap. I am absolutely disappointed with the service as it has completely ruined my trip and plans for Easter holidays. Also, now that I try to find a car - firstly there are none available to rent at the last minute and secondly ones available are 3x expensive than the price I had agreed to pay. I will like to get my refund asap and also be compensated for ruining my plans and other inconvenience caused.

We have used GotRentCars to rent a car in Germany from Herz/Thrifty. Upon arrival at the airport, we were informed that Herz was not able to provide a car for us bpooked by GotRentCars so we had to arrange alternative transport. Since that we have phoned and emailed GotRentalCars numerous times to get a refund. The emails stayed unanswered, our phone calls completely ignored as if this company does not exist! I would be very cautious using this company for your rental choice as you might never receive a car, neither would you get a refund!!!

FRAUDS!!!!!. SCAM These are a third party company offering you cheap car hire. You get to car rental place and they use Hertz, Thrifty or dollar. You then have to pay the car hire company full price. So you end up £100+ out of pocket. GO DIRECT AND SAVE YOUR MONEY. STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS.

They pretended my payment hadn't gone through then tried to take a second one. They don't answer the phone - have had to raise the issue with my bank. Either a rubbish company or a scam.

Due to Corona virus travel restrictions I had to cancel a trip to Florida with my family. We had 3 vehicles reserved, all booked through Gotrentalcars but with different Vehicle renters : Hertz / Alamo / Dollar. A simple email from each of us, and within a few days we all had a FULL refund paid back onto our credit cards. I just want to compliment this company for their actions. I have used them before and will certainly use them as soon as we get the opportunity to travel again. Excellent customer services A++++++++

I rented a convertible through gotrentalcars.com approximately a year ago. I got a confirmation email confirming my reservation with detailed instructions how to get to the rental place when I arrived in my location. Upon arriving I followed the instructions given to me by gotrentalcars.com, but could not find the actual location. After an hour of searching I finally found the place. When I arrived at the rental counter, they told me that they could not give me the convertible car that I reserved because they didn't have the reservation. They gave me an economy car and charged me for it. A few days later I received an email from gotrentalcars.com stating that they would refund my money as I had not used the reservation. Three months later I noticed a charge from them on my statement. I tried contacting thatgotrentalcars.com via phone and email to question the charge to no avail. I could not reach anyone. I called my credit card provider to dispute the charge, and now over six months later they got back to me saying that gotrentalcars.com said that I had taken the car and that it was a valid charge. They claimed that I had been "upgraded", when in fact I paid for a convertible and got an economy car. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. IT IS A SCAM

Don’t bother using this company, they cancelled our booking last minute and still charged us a late fee. Completely unprofessional, they hang up on customers addressing the issue, not worth the stress

Honestly NEVER AGAIN. don't do it. They ruined my holiday, they had all the wrong information and even the wrong company I had hired a car from. They wrong address to collect too. I also hired too baby seats and that wasn't on the order when I got there and I couldn't cancel because I couldn't get hold of them. Just DO NOT DO IT for a few quid saved!

Avoid folks…….hired a small car online and went to pick up? Car supplying company said they didn’t have the car I booked and only had a SUV at an extra cost of £57.60? Apparently gotrentals always do this? So they sell a service that can’t be provided, the car company also said that they couldn’t ring me as they wasn’t passed over any contact details?

My reservation was canceled. Found out about it in the airport at the time of the pickup. I was never notified about the cancelation. For two months now I'm trying to get a refund from them... Filing a lawsuit....

If negative stars could be "awarded" that would be a more correct score. This ordeal happened April 6, 2023 through May 2023. Subpar subcontractors, TONS of customer service glitches (especially with RentalCover.com insurance) I thought I'd gotten this great price from GotRentalCars.com, but BUYER BEWARE! My initial auto rental search used the consolidator AutoRentals.com, which has proven very reliable over MANY years, but they have screwed up by allowing GotRentalCars.com into their subcontractors. Apparently GotRentalCars.com sub-subcontracts to less than reliable smaller companies. My particular case happened in Miami, when GotRentalCars subcontracted to Fly N Drive, and huge problems ensued. Upon arrival at Fly N Drive's questionable (and shared cramped office,) provisions that were NOT online in the Terms and Conditions I'd read online popped up as I filled out paperwork for the rental car. The agent at Fly N Drive would NOT give me written copies of the "exclusions and limitations" I was supposed to be signing in agreement! I specifically asked for copies of the verbal statements he was making, and he said "I can't do that." HELLO! And the statements he was making were NOT in the Fly N Drive terms I read online (and saved screenshots...) Unbelievable. (My sister was there as we became more and more suspicious, and she'll gladly corroborate this account.) Despite purchasing coverage via the connection between GotRentalCars and RentalCover.com, Fly N Drive wanted me to buy THEIR insurance. If I didn't buy their own insurance, then I had to put a $4000 deposit on my credit card! The GotRentalCars T&C's don't quite explain this, either. I was NOT attempting to use my own car insurance for this, nor was I attempting to use the coverage provided by my credit card, as I normally do with international auto rental agencies. I refused to take the car after also finding out that I could NOT take it out of the state. LOL! The final blow. I got reassurances from Fly N Drive that the whole transaction was nullified. The next day, when I called GotRentalCars,com, I got the same VERBAL response, not to worry, full refunds would be in order. GotRentalCars issued a refund to my credit card for the rental. Despite paying for the insurance coverage via GotRentalCars, RentalCover.com refused to issue the insurance refund. Here's where the ridiculous argument started, GotRentalCars told me I'd have to contact RentalCover.com, and upon doing so, RentalCover.com responded (never any HUMAN via telephone!) that the whole refund had to be done via GotRentalCars.com! Ludicrous! Sending me in circles with no resolution, NOTHING. (And YES, when I hit a brick wall with RentalCover.com, because they ONLY have a website and no customer service telephone contact number, nor any email contact, nothing, I called GotRentalCars.com again, and they had NO SOLUTION.) I settled the whole thing by providing copious documentation to my credit card company (thank you, Capital One) and at this point, they're even investigating fraud and reporting the incidents to the Better Business Bureau. Cap One has issued full refunds for the auto rental as well as the insurance, but these are tenuous as they review the 30-40 documents I've submitted. If you're planning to use this company, make sure you DOCUMENT everything so your credit card company might be able to get your money back when things go wrong! Tip for consumers: My review says it all.

SCAMMERS BEWARNED they take your money in advance for car rental when you try to cancel months in advance they don’t refund so your out of pocket thousands of ££££ and have to reclaim from your card provider !!! AVOID these SCAMMERS of distinction !!!
