Think it's pretty poor that every update to your car insurance policy is an additional £30. Never had this before. Most definitely will not use again or recommend to anyone. Plenty others out there!

Hi Claire, We are really disappointed to read you are unhappy. We do apply a fee to make changes as this covers the cost of allowing a person to make changes, update and even cancel their policy fully online. We've worked hard to make our fees as clear as possible before someone buys a policy with us to make sure it is the right insurance overall for them. It is not uncommon for insurers to apply a fee to make a change mid-term although the prices of these can vary quite considerably. We will use your feedback to help us improve our overall service. Wasn’t happy st all, didn’t like the online idea, would have liked to speak to someone in person and have a proper discussion. The chat line didn’t understand what I required. Wouldn’t do it again.

Hedgehog will only have my business for one year, they do not accept NCD for ex-company car drivers and my last private insurance NCD fell outside their limited criteria. So despite having not made a claim in 20+ years I now have ZERO no claims discount in their eyes. The policy has now cost me an additional £207! They may look like the cheapest but beware, they are not. You can’t talk to a real person either as no phone numbers!!

Hi Steve, thank you for talking with us recently over LiveChat and email. It's disappointing to learn of your experience. To clarify, we do accept No Claims Discount from Company Car drivers if the proof clearly shows they were the driver and the policy was to cover them. What we are unable to accept are Fleet policies where many drivers are allowed to drive under an umbrella policy and therefore no one driver can have the No Claims attributed to them. This is the approach taken by many car insurance providers, not just Hedgehog. We are an online company and we provide online chat as our main communication method. Absolutely terrible, all online no phone number to call. Stated that my NCB was through company car usage and submitted correct document but as it is all online nobody understood this... tempted to actually cancel and go with a more expensive insurer with actual employees

Very demanding on proof of no claims and given no time to sort this. It’s done but not happy with this.

So got a quote and was happy. Tried to purchase and had trouble. Spoke with Marc over chat monday who said I had been turned down for credit. Funny that, I hadn't even got to that part. So went through app again purchased high rate insurance through yourself. So clearly didn't get refused credit. So I should be paying my first quote .... really not happy

I still cannot access my online account despite raising the issue by email and online chat on the day of setting up the insurance. I've also had no confirmation of receipt of no claims.

Nightmare, quick to take your money but had no confirmation email about my policy and every time I go on their website it just says ‘oh no, there’s been a problem, our developers have been informed’
