“A question in the final test was "what extinguisher can be used to put out an electrical fire" I answered powder and this was incorrect?”

Hi David. Sorry to hear that you didn't think our Fire Safety Awareness course was up to the expected standard. On the question you have mentioned, Carbon dioxide extinguishers are considered more suitable than powder extinguishers for dealing with electrical fires, as only multi-purpose powder extinguishers can deal with electrical fires and even then, they run the risk of damaging the electrical equipment. I have forwarded this on to the relevant team to take a look at the wording of the question to make sure it is clear to others who take the course. “I felt some of the questions were not linked specifically to safer recruitment and were more about safeguarding and child protection (which has already been completed in another course).”

The Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety for Catering course is a very in depth course and covers a lot of necessary topics in order to ensure that the learner has met the UK and EU legal requirements. “The content of the course is good but a high number of photographs showed poor practice e.g. hair nets not covering hair, face masks not covering faces, trousers being rolled up, jewelry being worn, someone resting their boot on a food carrying vessel, broken shelves in a refrigerator, food being stored uncovered in a refrigerator and beard snoods not being worn? Very poor considering it is a food safety course.”

“The training was far too long and wordy for my needs. There is no way anyone can learn or remember even a small percentage of the information discussed. Much better would have been to highlight the important points instead of trying to cram everything in. I don't think some of the questions are worded correctly either for example, in the first section one of the answers says we should share information. I would have though this should be share information with the relevant agencies / people not just share information (which could be sensitive) with anyone! this has taken me nearly 3 hours, not really high speed or targeted training. This is a really important subject but the presentation has really missed the point, not impressed!”
