Homestead had been recommended to us by word of mouth and we were not disappointed. We consistently felt like valued customers and were particularly impressed by the way in which we could imagine the potential designs in our garden. Their attention to detail matched mine and Paul's team, in particular, went the extra mile to make sure that everything was done well. All the different crews that we had during the phases of the build , were very polite and took great care in clearing up at the end of each day. We are very pleased with the end product.

Exceptional service! This build (in Swindon, Wiltshire) was, like others, completed to a very high standard. The groundwork gang were clean, efficient and made sure they treated our property like their own. The build crew were incredible - within 45 minutes the shell of the garden room was weather resistant! The build continued just as quickly. The electrician finished the job and was more than helpful and even re-glazed 3 panes of glass that the build crew had identified were scratched (which were so minimal we hadn't noticed them!). This is what you call perfectionists! The office staff kept up fully informed at all stages during the build. All in all, we cannot thank you enough and wish all companies operated like this. Thank you so much Homestead!

Homestead recently completed a garden roof for me in Essex & I can totally endorse what B & Shez wrote. First the concrete gang attended for 2 days, then the building arrived and was built over 4 days. The electricians attended for 2 days at the end. I was more than happy with all of the men that worked on the project; they treated the place like my home rather than their building site and were very tidy. Please thank them all. The office back up was first class too. I was kept fully informed every step of the way. The product quality is first class and the process was very slick. Well done.

Great experience with Homestead! The different teams worked really well together - so quick and obviously very experienced in what they do. They were a friendly, courteous bunch, a pleasure to have around and they tidied up after themselves too!! What really impressed was they went round and touched up all the little knocks and scratches that inevitably occur during construction without being asked. They were a long way from home (5+ hours some days) but they went the extra mile for us, solving all our problems and giving us a garden room that we love. It was also good to meet John, one of the two directors at the beginning of the process - he came all the way from Oxfordshire to Suffolk to look at the site and talk us through our ideas - a lovely man, he gave us the confidence to proceed. Homestead Garden rooms are not the cheapest but it was great to have the ‘complete package’ and you definitely get what you pay for! Thank you Homestead, we are very satisfied customers.

I am very pleased with my new Garden Store (7.5m x 3m) built and installed by Homestead. Everything went as planned, a first team came to build the concrete base and it took them two days, the second team came a few weeks later to installed the Garden Store and it took them four days. Both teams were excellent, very professional, very tidy and working hard despite adverse weather condition. Great job. The quality of the building is exactly what I was expecting.

Thanks to all at Homestead for a very professional service and great looking, well put together garden building. We looked around at all the other garden building suppliers and Homestead stood out for providing a one-stop service. The team worked well together and the building went in with a minimum of disruptions - even our neighbours commented on how courteous the team were (crossing their garden to get access to ours). Really happy with the end product. Thanks again.

This was our second Homestead Garden Room , which is an advertisement in itself . From pillar to post we found the service professional and courteous , and the building was both ahead of schedule and much nicer than we expected . Given that it was mostly cold and wintry during construction , and we are a 3 to 4 hour drive from Oxford the workmen could not have been more industrious and polite . So thank you Homestead for a job well done .

Your great team have just finished my office and I couldn’t be more pleased, it is so different in quality to the other one. The men are a hard working cheerful group and you can see from the ground how clean and tidy they have left everything, I can’t believe how quickly they did it as well.

“Homestead are remarkable. They achieved the impossible and designed, managed planning permission and installed a fantastic garage workshop for my classic car in a very, shape and space, restricted site. I have plenty of space to work and have even installed a two post lift. They are the experts - I cannot recommend them highly enough”

Overall a good experience with Homestead. I choose a garden shed which was maybe a bit pricey, but well constructed. I would have liked it to be insulated, which I was prepared to pay for, but they only offer that on the garden rooms. I think they're missing a trick there.

We are very pleased with our new garden room from Homestead and look forward to using this very useful addition to our lives. It is well-built and well-insulated and once it has been decorated and furnished, it will be lovely to use. For me it will be a work space and it has been tailored to my business requirements. The Homestead staff are all excellent. They are courteous and efficient and hard-working. For a short time we had lots of Homestead staff in our garden building, putting in plumbing and electricity etc and there was always a good, friendly atmosphere and the feeling of people successfully doing their best to give us a good service. Thank you!

DO NOT go for the full assembly package. Homestead had planned to lay a concrete base on top of an unlevelled patch of ground. We weren’t happy with this and so had a proper concrete base dug into the ground by landscapers before they started. However, the problems didn’t stop there. Before works began I was sent a statement that miscalculated the total bill by over £3k. While they did respond and agree that I was correct it was disappointing that I had to do the maths for them. As we were having our garden landscaped the conditions had changed between the first site visit and when the Oxford Garden Room was due to be put up. It took several phone calls to convince John, the boss who sold the building to me, to come and do another site visit and assess the situation. The build started and the building itself went up very quickly. However, they laid an electricity cable a mere few inches into a working flower bed which I had to ask to be dug in deeper. The pipe they planned to use to connect the toilet waste to our septic tank was bendy rather than firm and therefore likely to have issues with blockages and they don’t surround pipes with gravel as is common good practice. The electrician kicked over a pot of the exterior paint inside the hut which he didn’t tell me about until I discovered it myself. I emailed the office about this and never got a response. While they later tried to address the issue all they have done is paint over the dark green paint with the interior white wash rather than sand down or replace the wood. Unsurprisingly the stain is still very much visible. The electrician also split the wood of one of the skirting boards which I pointed out and was told it would be replaced but it never was. Despite paying for a painted hut, the shuttering they put around the hut is not painted and so the building looks unfinished. Workmen sat on our garden boundary wire stock fence making it sag. We provided tea and coffee facilities but the workmen smashed 2 mugs and didn’t own up, apologise or ever say thank you for the tea and biscuits. I was accused of changing the manhole in the garden that the trench for the waste was meant to be running to and had to refer them back to our original emails and photographs showing that it hadn’t changed. I received no acknowledgement or apology in response. After the building had gone up, it turned out that the small trenching machine Homestead use to lay pipes could not get through the muddy ground created by the other landscaping going on in our garden. We therefore agreed that our landscapers would dig the trench. As works had begun I decided to make an interim payment of 80% which I believed to be a generous good faith further payment despite not yet having working water and waste to and from the building and having outstanding works such as the paint spill that had not been addressed properly. At this stage, I was sent an email from the office asking me to pay everything except £400. I explained I wasn’t comfortable with that as there was a lot of work still to do and had voluntarily made a good faith payment of 80%. Following that John sent me an abrasive email saying that he would not book for the workmen to come back and finish the job unless I paid more money. I am VERY pleased that I didn’t as they are now screening my calls and have stopped responding to emails. I have contacted John’s mobile and the main office leaving voicemails as well as sending emails to John and copying in the office. It has been over a week and no one has responded despite our landscapers agreeing to work around Homestead’s availability to dig the trench. I am left with an unfinished building and a sour taste thanks to the incredibly poor customer service. Luxury price but NOT a luxury service. AVOID – there are many other products on the market.
