“I had done the typical thing of sending my complete script to friends or old teachers. But any compliments I had received had felt like false praise, and any criticisms managed to prompt a 'what do they know?' This impartial report was great for intercepting those responses. It was extremely thoughtful, thorough and intelligent. They were also wise to integrate their criticisms with compliments so that I still had some faith in the script but felt able to use their feedback to improve my script. There were parts where it felt a little like the reviewer got carried away with reshaping the story, but if anything it was a compliment that they had taken the care and time to get invested in the script. It definitely didn't feel like a cookie-cutter report that had received the bare minimum amount of attention.”

“Very happy with my report. The reader went above and beyond and gave me much more than I was expecting which I was very grateful for. If anything, it made me think; allowed me to see the wood for the trees which often become impossible when writing in isolation.”

“After graduating film and television at University and wanting to pursue development as a career, this course seemed like the perfect stepping-stone. The course on the whole was a good course and I am very glad I went, because I have taken much from it that will no doubt assist me in my career as a script reader. I felt the best part of the course was the group talking over the script that we had all read and how we'd go about writing a report on it. At times when talking through story theory, it dragged a little because I knew that area, but other than that, it was a great course and something I would recommend.”

“Report arrived a day early and overall I have to say the analysis was pretty thorough - the consultant had clearly done their homework and familiarized themselves well with both the plot and the characters. Although I felt there were a couple of points where the consultant laboured unnecessarily, in the main I was very pleased and I now have some very useful notes to work with in order to try and bump the script up from the 'Honourable Mention' it received to a 'Consider' or even a 'Recommend'. Many thanks.”

“All in all I was very satisfied with the service given. The feedback gave me some very useful food for thought and my story will benefit as a result. The only thing that stops me from giving it a five start rating is that there was no mention of how I handled dialogue. I've never written a script before so it would've been good to have a sentence or two on that subject. Perhaps the reviewer didn't think there was anything wrong with my dialogue but it would've been good to know either way.”

“This is the second script I've used Industrial Scripts for. Both times I got accepted into the talent connector program. When I submitted for talent connector the first time around, I didn't receive any enquiries, so I don't have any expectations that this time will be any different. The first script and subsequent lots of feedback seemed more practical, and, I guess, structural? - but this new script and its feedback is more character based, which I think says more about the fact that I now have a better understanding of structure/plot etc. All of that said, obviously I was impressed enough to use Industrial Scripts again (I used them maybe 3 times in total for that first script, which helped me reach the finalist stage for an international fellowship). I know all of this sounds a little negative, but honestly, Industrial Scripts is the best feedback service I've ever used (I've used probably 5 or 6)? I would use it more often if it wasn't so expensive (with the exchange rate in my part of the world). There you go- hope that review helps anyone trying to decide whether or not to use Industrial Scripts... if you've got the cash, and you want some professional feedback to progress your script to the next stage, I say, do it!”

“Endings matter. I got a very good and detailed review of my script but unfortunately, it wasn't complete. I didn't receive everything I paid for and when I asked for it, I was told my script package didn't offer what I was seeking, but it's listed quite plainly in the sample package. Details: I ordered the the basic, film script coverage and though I definitely received a more detailed report than the coverage offered, which I sincerely appreciate, I also expected to receive a review of the Text Document as well as a itemized rating, both of which are clearly stated in the example package report. I emailed Victoria and asked her for the missing items and she responded by telling me they're not included in my package when they clearly are. I responded by suggesting IS remove those items if they don't want to provide them but in my case, IS is obligated to supply them given the fact that they're included in the sample report. I have not heard back from Victoria or anyone else at Is regarding my request which leaves an even more unpleasant and unhappy ending to my experience with IS. Nonetheless, I did think the coverage I received was top notch, and the comments were very useful and will no doubt improve the next rewrite. I just wish I felt better about this other issue and my treatment regarding this discrepancy leaves a lot to be desired. Will I use IS again for my next script, at this moment, probably not nor will I recommend it to other screenwriters. Bad endings are never a good way to end a film or a business relationship.”
