If I could rate a NEGATIVE number.....I would. I ordered an item 2 days ago because the order window online said free shipping. After I placed the order I received a confirmation of the order right away saying that it was "same day pickup". I am trying to avoid stores due to Covid-19 which was the entire reason I wanted it shipped. I then tried to cancel the order (just a couple minutes after placing it) by using the "cancel" button on the website which did not activate anything. Nothing happened when I clicked it several times. At that point I tried calling them using the number on the order and the automated reply couldn't find the order and there was no prompt to speak with a person. I sent them an email asking for the item to either be shipped or cancelled and got NO RESPONSE. Today I found a number online where I could actually speak with a human being. I got connected and explained everything. She said that she could NOT cancel the item even though it's still in the store!!! I then told her that I am trying to support brick and mortar companies because I don't want them going out of business but this lack of customer support or help was not convincing me that they are a caring alternative. After explaining my disbelief of their lack of help I told her that I would pick it up but would never order online again from Penney's she then said that if I don't pick it up it will cancel. I said,"Why didn't you simply tell me that when I told you that I wanted to cancel? That would have solved this whole problem". No reply !!! She had made me go on and on and wouldn't have mentioned it at all if I hadn't strenuously complained. JCPenney......I am DONE with you. You don't care about your customers so I no longer care about your survival. I hope that you re-examine your treatment of customers.

I called customer service to ask if they can cancel my order that was pick up because of the coronavirus outbreak. She did not did anything to help me at all. I have never had any problems with return or cancel items since im calling to CUSTOMER SERVICE. Its the most ridiculous thing ever, making me call the store which was closed. My problem not solve. I would never order from them ever.

When I went to JCPenney i bought a gift card in order to recieve a coupon. They insisted that I would get it by the date, but when i came back they said they couldn't! We went to store 2 times the customer service people said manager is not available so she took our phone number to call us but we never get a call from the manager. Very very bad experience with this gift card.

Order an online item. Received confirmed the order was in stock and then 2 days later received confirmation it was shipped via UPS and would be delivered in 3to 5 business days. Now 10 days later just received notice the item will not be delivered for another 4 days. No wonder JCP is closings stores when they cannot even get their online business correct. Stick to Amazon at least they delivered items within 3 days and even with the holidays

II used to love JcPenny until I encounter their customer service people. The supervisor name Lavida was a total disrespectful and unhelpful person along with her fellow rude colleagues. I will never purchase anything from them anymore. You lost my business just like you lost many other peoples’ due to BAD customer service.

My problem with JC penny. The company closed the location in my area. Now we are forced to shop online with them or, ship to a store 1-2 hrs away Tried to purchase a pair of boots from them which cost $33 but, wth shipping and tax the total came to $46. I have paid for shipping before i have also tried the spend $99 for free shipping, which never equals out at $99 its always $100+ I think it is atrocious and unappreciative to charge loyal customers in neighborhoods where they have closed stores that amount of money for shipping. I spent days looking for items needed only to be disappointed with the shipping cost $10 extra to shop with them. My last time shopping their on their site, well waisting my time on their site. I have supported jcpenny for 40+ years was sorry to see them leave my neighborhood. maybe its time to give amazon a chance

Poor product quality. I purchased four kitchen appliances and spent over six thousand dollars. Deliveries were substandard. Incorrectly done and failed to correct the issue in a timely manner. All four appliances were broken or damaged. Customer service was not helpful or unable to resolve. One device was never fixed and had to get a refund. It was a terrible experience. I do not recommend Samsung products or JC Penny.

I ordered, bought and paid for in full, a recliner chair last Nov. 20. To date, I STILL do not have it and have gotten zero communication from the local Penney store despite my repeated trips in there and requests for help. I would never deal with them again - they know my situation and have made no effort to correct it. VERY POOR service (and it is now February!)

I am absolutely appalled with the bad customer service I just received. I just wanted to place an order. Your reps were blaming my pay pal and vice versa. I waited on the phone for 45 minutes for you to hang up on me!!! I am very disappointed as I really wanted the items I ordered in the first place. Long story short, my order was cancelled and I tried to resubmit and was unable to do so because it said it was pending. Pending?! You could not even find what was wrong with my order and why it was showing it was processing. Not to mention my rewards points that were on this "cancelled order" are gone and I can't use them to place another order even if I wanted to! Had the nerve to tell me "there isn't we can do for you" That is not great customer service! This is ridiculous and it's been an over all crappy experience. I expected more from you JCPenney!!! If there was half a star I would definitely give you one of those!! I hope you find a way to make this bad experience right.

I ordered a make-up kit on Black Friday that was supposed to be delivered between 12/10 and 12/14. I received the package on 12/30, and it was the wrong item. The packing slip stated the correct item. I sent in an email with pictures and attachements of the slip. The online Customer Care team is useless, they cannot view images or attachments, even though all the online receipts have images as the item descriptions. Then they tell me that they do not sell the lotion kit I received so I have to take it to a store and see if they will accept it. I was asked for the same order and item information 3 times. I have been a loyal customer for years. I will never shop with them either online or in store again, even if they give the items away. This is the last time I am dealing with the abhorrent customer service.

I would give this store a big fat”0” if I could!!!. I went to the Galleria Mall and shopped at JCPenny. I bought $200 worth of clothing which I wasn’t going there to do. When I went to the register, the cashier never said hi or if I found everything. Not a single word to me but definitely to the young girl he was trying to hook up with!!! After cashing out, he just slid them on the counter without a bag or anything. REALLY?? Since when do customers carry there stuff out the door unbagged? All the people working there are very rude, walk away when asking a question, and after saying excuse me 3-4 times they still act like they never heard you. I will NOT be shopping at there again! I’d rather go to the smaller malls to shop than deal with rude and ignorant people at this mall!! Maybe you need to teach your employees the rules - always ask if they need anything else, customers are always right, and always always ask them if they need things bagged!!!! Close this store instead of the ones in the suburbs!!!!!!!!

Never buy from them! I can truly see why JC Penney's is going out of business!!! I was on the website just checking items out. It seemed to have good discount prices so I placed an order. My fault I was in a hurry and rushed through the order. Shorty after placing the order I had time to review it. All of the items that I purchased had a discount attached to them...BUT WAIT....YOU CAN ONLY PICK ONE DISCOUNT!!!! THEREFORE I PAID FULL PRICE FOR ALL OF THE OTHER ITEMS....I would have NEVER ordered these items if they were not on sale because there are so many other stores that have the same items for less. Shame on you Penny's for getting over on new customers. I will never order from you again and when my order comes in...I will take it all back to your store! Worst experience ever not to mention it took me 30 minutes to get in touch with someone and when I did...she was absolutely the worst customer service representative ever...a lot like the website....if you want to know why you are going out of business...just read this

I purchased a pair of boys Levi jogger in February. I bought them for my grandson who lives 250 miles away. The Covid virus came and the store was closed until, I believe, June. After being quarantined, I got the pants back that did not fit. I tried to return them this fall, without the receipt, and was told that you cannot take back Levi's without a receipt. So, I went home and located the receipt. This all took time. I returned to the JCP at Fashion Fair Mall, Fresno, CA today (11/17/20 @ 1100)to return the pants. They are clearly new with all tags attached and with the receipt. I was denied return because of a 90 day policy. I asked to speak to a manager. An unprofessional manager told me that, "Even if I wanted to take them back, I can't because it won't let me." Who is 'it'? I even would have accepted store credit. I have been a loyal JCP customer since the 1970's. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars at JCP on clothing for myself and my family, housewares, furniture, appliances, etc. I cannot believe that they would deny me a refund of $16.57, especially given the chaotic year that we have all experienced. I have contacted corporate to give them a chance to correct this, but if they don't, I will NEVER step into a JCP again. It is the principle, I don't need the $16.

If I could they would get a 0!!!! They mailed my order to an address I lived at 6 years ago and refuse to give a credit or resend the items even though I selected that the billing and shipping address were the same!! I have NEVER had a company treat their customers so poorly. I will NEVER patronize JCP again-EVER!! Piece of garbage

I buy 3 mattress from jcpenney store at hurst on may 23 and the delivery it should be on Jun 16 as what they said in the recipe and until now I didn't receive my orders July 22 what kind business that I went go today to the store to ask them to cancel my order after 2 month waiting they refused to cancel my order really I m so said I will never go back to buy anything from jcpenney no more jcpenney for ever

After being on the phone over an hour, the same representative tried to say she was a supervisor. I received a pair of shoes with manufacturer's defect and I was told to return it on my expense. I'm diabetic, I explained the created blisters and they still did not comply. I don't recommend you buy online unless it's absolutely necessary.

Told cust svce many times I returned item and due to incorrect size sent to me. They deducted S and H from my refund. Spoke to 10 reps and all told me different ways was to get my refund / was told will get credited to my MasterCard. I called my bank and they did not see it - came in with a check the next day- made an idiot of me having to call my bank. Cust. reps DO NOT understand English. I asked easy questions - when will I receive my refund - rep kept repeating "the warehouse made a mistake in fulfilling your order" Exasperating. Also asked another rep about a label when will I receive it? He could not answer me. They need to hire people fluent in English which many are not. I called 10 times and most don't understand basic English - how the hell cam they answer customers' basic questions??? Most horrible customer service I've experienced in my life!! No wonder they're going bankrupt - turn customers off!!! Would give them -0 but they do not have that rating.
