HELLS KITCHEN, or KITCHEN SHOWROOM FROM HELL. A more disinterested, underwhelmingly disrespectful gang of staff, operators and owners you would struggle to find anywhere. Particularly at the Watery Lane, Preston, Lancashire showroom, where my wife and I, both of whom are elderly disabled pensioners visited hoping to install a kitchen designed around our needs of eye level placement due to our inability to bend, looking for layout idea's, a brochure, and hopefully get some design input coupled to a cost estimate. Unfortunately, having parked up and entered the building, not a single person could be bothered to raise sufficient enthusiasm even to notice us as they were all way too busy laughing and talking between themselves. Worse still, nobody bothered to point out the need to record our car registration. A requirement we discovered weeks later when a demand for £60 (raised to £100 on appeal) appeared through our letter box, despite there being no sign as per IPC requirements at the site entrance, and no signs in the bays we used. There is however a small sign at the door entrance. But unfortunately, as my wife walks with a stick with her free arm linked to mine for steadiness, we both need to look down ahead of us so as not to trip each other up. So yes, we missed it. And as I've said, the staff were too busy with each other to put us right. All subsequent appeals have now failed, including one to the MD of Magnet personally. A cheap shot, 'robbing' elderly, disabled, genuine customers. Well, would-be customers. I personally would never go back there again. So a blessing in disguise in some ways as the kitchen units are poor quality, and allegedly, the fitting and after-sales service is equally poor. Not the best approach to boosting income. On the plus side, loosing the £100 may turn out to be a blessing in disguise long term. Stick with Wickes, Wren, or B&Q. All better quality by far, with genuine 'free' customer car parking.

The manager’s attitude was absolutely disgusting!!! I’m still in shock after the experience.. he was so rude and didn’t care whether he had my business or not.

Horrible customer service. In a nutshell, kitchen has been delivered over a month ago, left on site and still uninstalled. They are very poor at returning calls, passed on my details to their installer (without permission) and the installer even emailed me asking for more money after we have paid everything to Magnet. Terrible, shambolic and stressful. AVOID.

We were very impressed with the customer service we received, a majority of our painted doors had water marks on them and as a good will gesture, Magnets replaced all the doors that had marks, very impressed with their service

I am kitchen fitter and I’ve recently installed a magnet kitchen for a customer. I will never again take on a magnet kitchen fit. Quality is poor and customer service dreadful, even with trade counter. Kitchen vastly overpriced and felt sorry for customer, having been ripped off.

Read the reviews and possibly relieved as we have had quotes from Independant and chain kitchen suppliers and for 14 units without appliances and fixtures came in at an average of £6.5k. With 50% off with Magnet we had the surprise quote of £11.2k (£22k full price) by magnet on MDF doors which are priced as such as they have a better coating, £6k for “services/fitting” where others are charging £3.5k and quartz top averaged £4k yet a lovely quote of £9k from Magnet. Without sale we would have a kitchen with MDF doors and without appliances costing £40k. Really disappointed and found the visual design when presented wasn’t even completed, virtual design Manager when contacted stood by the quote.. nothing further can be said!

The quality of service from Magnet kitchens is absolutely awful and I would not recommend them under any circumstances!! Pretty much everything was done badly – they were very disorganised, communication was really really poor and the quality of the installation was bad (29 snagging problems to date - some minor, some major). The process has been really time-consuming and stressful. The installers tried to fob me off a lot of the time when I pointed out faults and Magnet have shown very little interest in putting things right. I’ve been chasing them for several weeks for a substantial refund I’m owed (not paid yet). They put my email address and mobile number on their marketing lists after I asked them not to. What was designed and delivered was not what we discussed in-store. Panels were added to the order, which we tried to cancel but we were told we could not. Handles for the units were removed without our instruction The fitting went ahead on instruction from the store even though we said we need further discussion.

The service from Magnet kitchens is terrible they dont return calls and the manager of the Aintree branch told us point blank they didn't want our business and to deal with a branch 40 miles away. Do not bother with this company for kitchens as they cant be bothered changing designs and the internal politics is disgarcefull - avoid at all costs!! They are prepared to loose kitchen sales rather than ensure their staff do a good job for their customers.

I have ordered a Magnet kitchen but am feeling very anxious now I've read these other reviews. In fact I've already been put off by lack of communication. I had to delay the fitting because I caught Covid - I asked the salesman to ensure he told all people involved. Despite that, while I was really ill, I received 5 calls from hauliers, unit and worktop suppliers wanting to deliver items, so I had to tell them it was postponed and to deliver to Magnet warehouse. Then on the original installation date the hauliers arrived to deliver the kitchen! I complained to Magnet customer services, but no one will apologise or tell me whose responsibility it was to postpone. As others say, once they've taken your money, all customer Care goes out the window....so watch this space come end of January!!!

I recently bought a kitchen from Clare in the Stockton branch and the whole service from buying to fitting was excellent. I would recommend anyone to visit Magnet and see Clare and she will look after you from start to completion

We went to Magnet Beckenham and were very pleased with the service from start to finish. Jodi and Kelly were extremely helpful and Kelly went out of her way to do 2 final measures. She was very knowledgeable and always helpful. We got a Tatton midnight kitchen and are pleased with the finish, except the end piece of the island (not one piece but two that need fitting together so not as seamless and design drawings didn't show). All in all a very positive experience and would recommend.

Lots of issues but they were, eventually, resolved. What I can’t understand is after eight months the laminate worktops look like an ice rink: scratched, scuffed and even a gouge. Just me, a 67 year old, using the kitchen and have treated it with kid gloves. Never experienced anything like it! So disappointed. Laminate tops are supposed to be made of durable material but these seem to mark just putting a plate on them.

Poor design, several items discussed at design stage were omitted in error from the parts list, Lied to about time lines, we paid the deposit June 14th 2021 and was told the kitchen would be stored for 6 weeks max after which we need our property to be ready. I then project managed the plumbing, electrioc and building work involved to remove a wall to facilitate the design. then told could be October (not end July) at the time of writing (nov 17th) the kitchen is 85% complete

Very excited to be having my new kitchen at long last -the excitement didn't last unfortunately! As soon as I had paid, customer service went out the window. Delivery which we paid for was poor with one elderly gentleman driving a van. He was unable to lift the delivery alone and so my husband had to lift and carry most of the kitchen units and appliances. Appliances were left off the delivery and took weeks of chasing Trowbridge magnets ,which I was told I could eventually collect from store myself (although this should have been in with the delivery I had paid for). After numerous phone calls my dishwasher was delivered. I had no oven for 2 weeks as it took this long to receive a 3rd cabinet that was not damaged. This was after the delivery man driving the lorry tried to insist that he drop it off on the pavement some distance away from the house, which was not what Magnets told me .My husband was then asked by the delivery man if he could get in the back of the lorry to help him get the oven cabinet off-really! I was then asked by Trowbridge magnets to get my builder to deliver the two damaged oven cabinets back to Trowbridge magnets. Which is some 15 miles from us! Who's paying for the builders time??? We were sold 2 larder cabinets after advice from the magnets kitchen designer and told they would be good to be cut down which my builder argued against, unfortunately as the packaging was badly damaged from transportation and heavy rain when my husband had to carry them himself from the delivery van, Trowbridge magnets refused to refund them. This was after 2 phone calls where I explained that they had been repackaged and I was told as long as the cabinets weren't damaged they would be happy to refund. On arrival of Magnets and unloading the larder units he was met by 3 members of staff including the manager who all came out and watched him unload the cabinets by himself, to tell him they could not take the cabinets back as they had been repacked. The manager stood there and said he had heard the sales assistant tell me they would not take them back unless in original packaging-therefore calling me a liar . As you can imagine this turned into a bit of a dispute. We are disgusted with the service we have received from Magnets. My builder agreed to cut down the larder units which of course, as he said resulted in loss of structure and a very poor chipped finish to the gloss end panels. I could kick myself for using this company. I now have 4 doors that have rippled edges and I am at my wits end! Steer well clear!!

Parts damaged/missing sold units that didn’t fit, refused to rectify because it was bought via a ‘trade’ account despite me paying nearly £11000 on my debit card they misuse data protection laws to refuse to deal with the actual customer

We have just purchased a home with a Magnet kitchen already installed. It has not withstood the test of time by any measure - utter rubbish! The previous owner left all of the paperwork and it shows the kitchen is 7 years old and cost around 3300 - the same as my current Nolte kitchen. In comparison, the quality of the Magnet units are entirely inferior (doors delaminated, unit shelves too thin/weak (bowed), etc) and the installation is similarly poor, with many gaps between the units and walls/floors and the like. Bottom line: I will be removing the Magnet and I will replace it with my 7 year old Nolte.

Purchased a Magnet trade kitchen after being ‘introduced’ by a fitter. They apparently took incorrect measurements so the design they gave us did not fit the space. After taking the units that didn’t fit from my house and promising to refund that day they have now advised that they cannot refund without the fitters permission as it’s his trade account, despite me paying Magnet directly from my debit card. I’ve asked for the units back as I paid for them which they’ve refused. I believe this is fraud. In addition I’m still outstanding items including doors and the kitchen is of poor quality.

Bexleyheath branch. - The initial design meeting at the showroom went well but subsequent changes to the design were not registered. Balance was requested a week before delivery and the plan was still wrong. Manager had to get involved and Throughout the entire process there has been a total lack of communication. The fitting prices are grossly underestimated for electrical work etc. A refund of £480 for 2 rubbish collections, that were not made, have not been forthcoming and the consultant and manager have both now left Magnets so we are left without anyone to contact. The kitchen is lovely but the service has been appalling throughout. A highly stressful and expensive experience
