I placed my order on 3rd of Jan and they told me it had been despatched on the 5th when in fact they've only just despatched it on the 21st. I've had many emails ignored and was lied to in the one and only email I did receive back. The customer service is non existent and there's no apology in sight. Stop blaming covid and stop blaming your delivery company, this is a problem with Matalan and the reviews on trustpilot prove that.

Ordered an XL mens cardigan to be delivered to Hull Kingswood store and yes the parcel did arrive... a pair of girls pink wellies! I emailed CS, to be told to return to store or post back to them and pay the postage myself and they'd refund. I duly took back to the store which was closed as it was a Saturday, which was a round trip of 30 miles. Finally got them back to the store and was told I would be notified within 24 hours of a refund. Still waiting after 4 days.. Sandra

I am isolating with my disabled daughter so unable to get to the shop I am a long standing shop customer . I ordered 4 pair of slippers for Christmas presents and they were never delivered I repeatedly sent email to you and now you want to order an order no which haven’t got as I was never sent one totally disregarded as a loyal customer and told to take it up with PayPal ant believe that’s how the treat old customers

I am not very impressed with your company I bought some Pyjamas from you and you emailed me today saying that they are out of stock so I googled for some more and yours came up yet again in the same size and saying that they are in stock and in the same size not impressed with this

What Customer Service - does it actually exist? Shocking way to conduct business. Poor in store service and no after service. If you could rate them as Zero I would. I understand that Covid has impacted on businesses this year but this is not acceptable.

Goods not received. Email sent by matalan to say part of the order had been returned with refund. I WANT MY ORDER HONOURED. I see that matalan states order not a contract until delivered. That's v odd as contact law states that contract is binding when money taken. Money was taken by matalan. No mention of second part of the order. Date of delivery has passed. Nothing delivered. Email x2 to matalan with no response. No phone service How can a business operate this way? I note that matalan has four stars in reviews How??? Trust pilot has much lower rating and rates matalan as BAD - lowest of 5 ratings.

Goods not received, phone lines shut and an email address that never answers. So Christmas presents you are unsure you will receive at all and no way of getting money back. I always buy online from here but will never again now

I understand that due to the pandemic Matalan have closed all stores and John Hargreaves is seeking £ 60m bailout. They should not be taking money for online orders which they are not delivering,all responses are automatically sent to queries. I ordered £31-95 goods on 28th November,still awaiting delivery. Order no #39707327. Will be contacting TRADING STANDARDS want a Refund.

Matalan’s courier service and customer care system is terrible! The courier service did not try to deliver my parcel and Matalan have closed down their customer service telephone lines so the only way to contact either them or the delivery company is via email with no response from either.

Bought some items worth £150 on Nov 10 2020 and still yet to receive them. This were initially delivered to store and because of the lockdown Matalan decided to delivered the item to billing address without me requesting for it. On the 30th of October 1 item out of 22items was delivered to my door with a proved. I have since been calling their customer services, sending emails without any good response. been to store, only for them to ask me to go back to customer service. This item were meant to be Christmas gift which are obviously useless now but at least I should be entitled to my money back. I will go to every review website until my money is refunded.

I recently placed an order, 2 items were out of stock. Matanlan made no attempt to notify me. I paid the asking price but the delivery note gave a different price, which was lower than I paid. When I returned 2 items to the store I did NOT GET my full refund as the cashier said she could only go by what was on the delivery note. I lost money on the refund. The customer service help line is terrible. You are kept holding for ages. The online customer service is so confusing. Why can’t matanlan keep things simpler, why cause so much unnecessary stress, I won’t be ordering anything online from Matanlan again. I still haven’t resolved my refund query yet. I have emailed and tried ringing a few times without any luck. If other retailers can deliver items in a couple of days and Matanlan take over 10 days, there is definitely something wrong with their service.

I Ordered three pairs of jogging pants in November and waited several days for them to arrive. When they did there were only two pairs of jogging pants in the parcel and I was simply told by a very unhelpful customer service advisor that I would have to wait. Today when I contacted them again I was told that the only alternative was to offer a refund for the missing item as their system would not allow them to issue a replacement. This is mindbogglingly incompetent service in this day and age and such a shame that genuine stores are going to the wall When a company like this is offering such poor service. Having read reviews from other people I don’t hold out much hope of the refund actually being processed. Do not buy from this company

I have just been to Matalan to try and get an exchange after they packaged completely the wrong item I had ordered. Understand business is different for everyone but they were so unhelpful, so rude and showed no interest in me the customer. I am sorry but there is no way I will be giving my custom to Matalan Greenbridge again whilst they continue to employ rude staff and managers! my advice; SHOP LOCAL, SHOP SMALL

OMG. Self service tills! What a shambles, 2 out of 3 transactions required intervention and only one actual staff member attending. There was another person operating a till which was only for cash or returns, was told they can't take any one with card even though no one at their till and a queue of at least 30 people! Also, the self service tills are touch screen and there was no evidence of any sanitizing the screens or the card machines. This needs sorting out!

Get rid of those stupid self service tills. As a customer I go shopping to be served not told I have to put my purchase through a till myself. Customer service is becoming nonexistent in Matalan

Wow can’t believe the last reviewer took the words out of my mouth. I have experienced the same no refund just IOU card. Would of thought due to the current climate and no use of the fitting rooms allowances would be made in regard to company policy not only would it show good faith it would encourage shoppers rather than discourage. Really do not feel confident shopping in store at this time with lots of companies going into liquidation where would that leave little old me and my IOU .

Don't even deserve a 0 star. Items were not delivered to me but returned back without me requesting. Matalan has only sent email confirming refund for some of the items but the rest are missing. Contacted Hermes & was told that parcel has been sent back to the store. I have been sending emails continously with no response and calling but customer service is not available through the phone. This is unacceptable. At least respond back providing reasons as to why this is happening instead of responding back how due to COVID-19, it will take longer. Everyone is going through it and they do find the time even a minute to respond to customers instead of ignoring. Absolutely useless. DON'T WASTE TIME ON MATALAN.
