Definitely bullies . I had a property they took over from G4S . Stopped paying the rent from Nov23 moved the tenants out without telling us. Stopped the rent said need do all the work identified in a FRA they had done in August 23 but I was never informed. I was loosing £5k a month in rent. Caused severe financial hardship. After 3 months took the property back as they stopped paying the rent. They didn’t respond to me or my solicitors. Since repossession they have not responded. They priced the works to be fine at around £37k. They are as bad as the post office who robbed innocent hardworking people. Someone needs to expose them for what they are. Scumbags

These guys are complete scumbags, Do not use them for any reason they will get you to sign contacts and them not answer any calls when them are due to make payment.

I am a private landlord looking to ask Mears to take over my flats. But. I just cannot believe the reviews. Can a member of the company at least reply? Jeff Atkinson.

I contacted my local city council to request an emergency repair as I had found the previous tenant had hammered in a nail to hold up a picture frame, which had gone through a live wire. They sent around an electrician from Mears to isolate the wire, which he did by turning off the power to my living room and bedroom lights. He then told me someone would come around asap to do a proper repair. That was four and half years ago! and the problem still has not been fixed. Also, I recently requested an emergency repair to my leaking shower. A Mears electrician came and said I needed a new shower unit, but she couldn't do the repair as her shift was ending; but promised me it would be done by her colleague later that day. Needless to say he never turned up. Take my advice, avoid this company like the plague. They are incompetent, deceitful and disrespectful. My guess is they only won this service contract as a result having a cosy relationship with government (they're probably Tory party donors).

Mears. No words can explain how terrible this company is. Only consolation is I'm not the only one being treated so poorly. I've been compensated before because of Mears and the disgusting behaviour they display. I hadn't in a million years expected to have to complain again. They day they have to rely on people like themselves can't come soon enough

I lease two flats with Mears Group and it has been the worse experience of my entire life deal with them and the damage to my properties. One of their client was running a drug den and a brothel in my property. Their office is only across the road from my flat. My neighbour notified me and rol d that at one time, there around 30 guys outside the property. The police had to be called. My entire property was thrashed and they offered me £900 compensation. The bill is running into thousands. Need new kitchen, carpet etc. All my furniture were removed by Mears. Estimated cost is around £10000. I am having to sue them with massive solicitors bill. I would advise anyone to keep away from Mears. They have taxpayers money, our money, to the tune of £360 millions. Most spent on fancy cars for the 1000's of managers

I wouldn't even give them one star!! They are an absolute joke. They refuse to work on property's because they can't be bothered and lie and say that it is the tenant who is refusing even though you ask for the work to be done. They are all rude and disrespectful to tenants from management/supervisors to workers to the call center. How they are still getting work from the councils is beyond me. This is definitely one of the worst companies and employers that are out there.

There is someone new, apparently, in the complaints (issues reporting) department, who is making a mockery of the process. He (or she) is responding to things not written while failing to respond to the concerns expressed as expressed. Additionally, the person seems to be stuck on automatic rejection of and reply to complaints and so is not earning his keep and ought to be removed from such a sensitive position. MEARS continues not to act normally to its residents and to harass them as they see fit. Embarrassing to the UK government which has given them contracts (maybe they put in the low bid and were hired only for that reason). I have no confidence in MEARS and I wish the government would review their contract in medias res.

The company, hired by the Government of this country, to faithfully run social housing instead undermines the UK government and breaches all of its duties in its determination to cut corners. It cannot handle social housing.

Not possessing the social graces or positive attitude necessary for social housing management. Letting England down publicly.

Completely unhelpful staff that take more than 5 days to respond to emails by which point the arranged dates have already come and gone. Staff unable to even attempt to offer a solution and simply insisting what they say goes in an aggressive manner.

Landlords please don’t have anything to do with these people. They rent 3 properties from us and they are nothing but bully boys. We are trying to get rid of them one of their tenants should have left last May but they have made no attempt to move them. I can’t believe that a Charity like Chapter One could hand us landlords over to them. They ignore our recorded delivery letters, emails and phone calls.

I have never had any dealings with this company so i an concerned about why they are targeting me and subjecting me to terrorisation tactics. It is even more concerning that they are an unethical corrupt company doing this. I have never worked for them or lived in a house they maintained so i do not know how i came to be a target of rheirs. I may write to the SIA to if they have submitted false information so that they could defraud taxpayers by making false claims. I wish Alan Strong was successful in exposing the force for evil that is Mears Group because look at how innocent people are suffering for the fact that what theyre doing is allowed to be kept well hidden. Terrible company

What can I say, 3 years service and one review on personal performance. Multimillion company who weekly advise you in tool box talks about open door policy however penalize you by adhering to it. Going above and beyond your job role normally means turning a blind eye to health and safety regulations and when you do they then hold it against you when arguing your case on difficult jobs or situations. All in all a blind leading the blind company. Expect school leaving uneducated people advising you on construction time scales, products, your job role, health and safety regulations (whether should be ignored or adhered depending on the upscale of the job within the company). Over time and out of hours work only given to favorites and family. Nepatism prevelant. Internal Complaints ignored.
