“My daughter doesn't always like to hear corrections but also avoids watching a video and correcting herself. This was a good solution because it was coming from "a judge" and gave her a few things to focus on.
I was a little surprised that the score given was higher than her meet score, the video submitted was a good angle for judging.”
Hi thanks for your feedback! We don’t advertise a gymnast score on a meetcritique - instead we focus on feedback and pointing out specific deductions. We even wrote about the differencesbetween live and video judging: https://www.meetcritique.com/to-score-or-not-to-score/ which can explain variances in scores.
“So generally the feedback is very good. However, on the recent submittal there were feedback items that did not apply. Specifically it was noted as 0.15 for lack of split on a jump. Even in the slowmo it shows 180 degrees — the issue was she was judged as if she did a split jump not a sissone”
Thanks for being a repeat member of team meetcritique and for taking the time to leave us a review! Sorry for the confusion on your most recent meetcritique. In this specific case, there was some concern about a skill being judged incorrectly. Our judge re-watched and stood by her initial deduction (.15) but did note that an in-person judge might have taken anywhere from 0.0 to -.2.
