Purchased new set of covers for sofa and footstool. All fine when purchasing, completely different story on collection of covers. They were huge!!! I immediately got in touch with Multiyork customer services, explained the problem and was told to email my Newbury store where they were purchased from. I emailed and sent various pictures. After several emails and phone calls I was told it was our fault as we had not fitted them properly. I explained this was not our first set and we did know how to fit them and spent a great deal of time and effort trying to make them look half decent. I then asked for someone to come and fit them if it was our fault and was told this would cost me £90.00! I obviously refused and after further emails was told someone would come and check them which they did and told us they were indeed not right. I then had to make more phone calls to check what the next step was and was told they would do a refit and leave a replacement sofa. When I tried to arrange this I was told it would be approx six weeks as they had a large waiting list for a replacement sofa, not a great advert for multi york. By this time I was so stressed with it all I said we will go without a replacment just get it sorted. They collected it and several phone calls and three weeks later it is back with us. It is better than it was but to be honest it is still does not as Multiyork say "fit like a glove". I will never ever use this company again so much stress and worry through no fault of our own. At the end of the day the least they could have done was own up to the bad fit in the first instance which would have saved so much time and worry. Multi York just did not want know, they were unhelpful and defensive, and just seemed to hope that we would go away and stop disturbing them. The picture of sofa was one originally sent on the day we collected covers.

The design of their sofas is good. That's all I can say that is positive about the company. The sofa we received was NOT the sofa we sat on at their showroom: the cushions were the wrong size, had massive gaps between them and the sofa, cheap fabric that went saggy after the first use with absolutely zero stain proof coating (we paid extra for that!). The company is EXTREMELY dismissive and really only makes an effort with the prospective buyers. The moment the sale is done and the full payment received Multiyork become dismissive to the point of being rude, unhelpful. They have been ignoring all our emails, I had to chase them for months to get hold of someone, who could respond to our complaint. In the end "computer said no" to all our enquiries and complaints with no offer to fix the issue or even get someone to look at their "luxury, bespoke" sofa for a second opinion. My advice - go to IKEA and save yourselves hundreds of pounds on this pile of cheap crap that is Multiyork Furniture.

Very disappointed with our new furniture. After 5 months the fabric is 'bobbling' and the sofa and footstool look years old! Multiyork arranged to send out a 3rd party inspector to look at the items and he said it was normal! He proceeded to shave the bobbles off the fabric with an electric shaver and told me that this is the usual thing to do! I've contacted Multiyork twice since the visit but have not heard back from them. I plan to take my footstool to my local store and place it outside and asking passers by to give an opinion on how old it is!

Head office customer service very poor, regarding "Copenhagen wall units",both Led light transformer failed only after occasional use in 4yrs. Head office customer service price to replace transformers is over £90!!! EACH!!. A COMPLETE RIP OFF...... I purchased, online, a transformer for just over £10. How can Multiyork justify their cost. Vulnerable people would agree to their prices. The Led light transformer Multiyork supply for these units is substandard and over inflates the cost of their wall units.

We purchased two Tate sofas and chose a high end fabric. After less than 12 months the back cushions were caving in and the seat covers were pooling. We complained and a Homeserve rep came and viewed them we then got a a email saying our claim was invalid. Do not use this company they are charging a lot of money for inferior goods

Fabric on sofa is `bobbling` after only 9 months. It has been inspected and deemed `normal` and, we are told, given time it will gradually dissipate. Our lovely new sofa looks as if it is 9 years old, not 9 months! Customer service has been appalling. We will never shop there again and would recommend you buy your furniture elsewhere - John Lewis and M&S are far superior for quality and customer service.

Our previous suite of 18 years was multi York and I was sad to see it leave the house, it had so much history of our family life.... but onwards and upwards, I love my new suite. Multiyork was our first choice when we decided we needed a new suite and I can say we weren't disappointed, nothing had changed in terms of customer service in both our local store (chester) or in terms of quality and delivery. We also love the fact it is made in the UK and supports jobs and represents quality though we are not british born. Our local store were so helpful, professional and not in the least bit in your face which you get in allot of furniture stores. The manager was informative and down to earth, he talked us through the various options and the cost of the bands of materials, we then went away confident we could work out what we wanted in terms of our budget and a wonderful choice of materials and ranges. We were also invited by our local team to come in and browse through materials and colours at our leisure. Well done chester Multiyork staff and multi York as a company for a fantastic experience

When is leather not leather? when you buy from Multiyork. Dye comes off after 1 year of use...turns out they spray it. Be careful what type you buy and don't expect a good after sales. They use an independent company to verify faults on site and amazingly they rarely uphold a claim! Also the time ticks on the leather from the day it arrives in the warehouse....not the day you buy it or start using it...surprised they don't start the 1 year warranty on quality while the skin is on the animal! Worst leather sofa I have ever bought for quality.

Buyer beware. We bought a large sofa from Multiyork at the beginning if the year. We bought a set of covers to match the new sofa. Complete disaster. Customer service was SHOCKING with everyone passing the buck from the directors to store staff. Inefficient throughout. New covers unfit for purpose slipping and sliding all over the place. Their 'Independent' 'upholstery expert' visited and said the covers needed redressing daily - are you having a laugh! He took them completely off and then spent 30 mins putting them back on again. I'm sorry, my life is too short to do this everyday ...... And where does it say this in your advertising blurb? And by the way, the 'expert' worked for Homeserve. And who uses Homeserve as a contractor? You've guessed it - Multiyork!! Whole thing stinks. I would never recommend them. Any business that thinks it can survive by not listening to their customers with draconian customer service won't last much longer.

I ordered 2 York Sofas which morphed into Lavenhams since I wanted the York with Back Cushions. After parting with a lot of money and waiting some months my sofas arrived and whilst they looked ok, they are singularly the most uncomfortable sofas I have ever had the displeasure to sit on. I phoned to complain and they reviewed my sofas but no, nothing wrong with them from a manufacturing and quality perspective so they are not going to do anything else to resolve my issue which is that the sofas are throwing you forward and are very uncomfortable. I have had to resort the ombudsman which they are not even a member of, even though at the time of my complaint they had the audacity to refer to them on their complaints web page. I now hate these sofas with a passion and they are so uncomfortable I dont use them at all and have reverted to my old sofa. I would NEVER recommend MultiYork to anyone as what you sit on in the shop is not what is delivered to you. They changed part of the spec, again not what was in the shop or shown on the webpage and was told thats the design now. They are arrogant and dont listen to your issue. I told them the sofa was akin to a park bench and they recommended that I purchase a firmer cushion...........seriously, like its not uncomfrtable enough. None of my visitors want to sit on them. It is a nightmare. I only wanted what I ordered with the same comfort as experienced in store. You would have thought that was easy enough. DO NOT BUY anything from this company. There is absolutely no value for money and no one listens to your complaint. I will certainly never buy anything from them if they were the last place on earth.

We bought an expensive reclining leather sofa - clearly made with cheap/faulty material, colour coming off ( one year old) - Multiyork say this is due to misuse, because our heads have touched it! It is reclining!!!

Nothing but problems since purchase. Build quality issues, fabric faded drastically, Staingard protection doesn't work at all, your are not permitted by the policy to attempt your own clean. Takes about six months for replacement fabric. If you like having a permanently stained, faded sofa of poor quality buy Multiyork.

We ordered a very expensive Lavenham sofa. On arrival we could not use it as our feet were three inches off the floor (I am 5 feet 6). We were told that we should have noticed this before ordering and overall, the company's response to our problem has been abysmal. Their own agents (Homeserve) visited and took pictures and agreed the sofa was not right (albeit made to spec). The company's response has been to offer to SELL to us replacement cushions at a cost of over £100. Although this is a 25 percent discount off listed price, it is clear that they wish to make a profit out of what is a serious design flaw. I would receommend that you do NOT buy from this company. Once they have got your cash, they suddenly become totally uninterested in problems

Well we started this in Dec 13 had sofas delivered June 14 as I have an heart attack at Easter made to pay for storage within weeks it was faulty- told new sofas would be made -didn't even come & see odd?- made appointment for delivery durning day came 7pm sat eve end Nov with only 1 sofa not 2 & no details to take faulty ones away, it didn't happen so following week sat asked for after 9am delivery came 7.45am and hole in fabric in 1 sofa plus about 10 other faults!! Had to have someone to come & check over them even more faults found so we had to have more sofas made (we went for different ones) We then found out that 1st set of sofas had a manufacturing fault thus why didn't come and check them out as they knew they had a fault but didn't tell us thus 2nd set weren't what we ordered as they changed design !!! 3rd set of sofas took months as even though we had afternoon in store in January they didn't put order in till late March - don't ask- came in the late summer of 2015 when son home from uni he found large hole in one of the cushions where cotton in sewing machine ran out thus top switched but not under , they sent a man out who sat on floor and so called stitched it by hand a think a 8 yr old could have done better so they said they would sent new cushion cover which they did but for wrong cushion!! Here we are in late April 2016 still waiting for cushion cover with no hole in it It has taken 2 1\2 years and still not got 2 complete sofas???????????? Also as we ordered spare cushion in white to go on new sofas they were not new and have not been replaced with the sofas thus we have old cushions on new sofa - a wasted nearly £200 Look some where else please it has been the must stressful items I have purchased ever and to be honest I don't even like the sofas we have - I just wish we could have our monies back, but we have no chance of that as they do not help one bit!!!!!

MultiYork look like they make great furniture but at a much higher cost than elsewhere. I was prepared to take that chance when they had a sale. The staff are fine in store, but I found serious problems once the deposit was taken. Firstly, I was told I would be contacted before the delivery date. I wasn't. It was only be contacting MultiYork that I found that they hadn't made the sofas yet after 7 weeks and that there was a problem with the material and it would be another 7 weeks. During this additional 7 weeks they mailed me a £100 off voucher along with their latest sales, very good at mailing you the sales stuff, rubbish at keeping their active customers informed. I was given a new date, but again not hearing anything, I contacted MultiYork to find out that they were still having problems with the material. Only this time they offered to change the material to one of the same grade/standard as way of compensation. Which if they'd have done this before, I probably would be writing a much better review. On pressing them for actual compensation, I was informed they'd only offer goodwill after delivery of the sofas and that they'd contact me once they'd been able to check the material. That contact didn't come and rather than chasing them for a 3rd time, I cancelled my order and went to Next saving myself over £1,000 for the same thing and having it delivered still before MultiYork could manage. By this point I had no trust left in them regarding the goodwill, likely it would have just been another money off voucher to use in store rather than discounting the original order. In short, MultiYork, great at taking your money but you simply can not trust them to deliver or keep you informed which is appalling considering the high costs that they charge. Worst customer service I have ever had the misfortune to experience.

It is the most uncomfortable sofa I have ever had. It has sagged in the middle and the cushions loose their shape almost as soon as you sit down. Awful.
