Although very authentic, they're MUCH thinner than I remember again overall for the price a good thing

To whom it may concern, skeptical on dog tags are them not being authentic. That is my concern.

Hi Hector, Our dogtags are mil-spec and will pass inspection.

The dogtags were good but forgot to add the silencers for the pair for my son for Christmas. I had contacted MY DOG TAGS and had a reply saying they will contact me with no response.

Hi James, As per our phone conversation we resent the silencers and you should have received them before Christmas. Please email us if not.

I was supposed to receive my dog tags on December 19th and it is now the 25th and I still have not received them yet to comment on.

Hi John, According to USPS tracking your is delayed in transit due to weather. We do guarantee delivery so please email us if it doesn't arrive in the next few days.

Stamped information is too small and hard to read and the weight of the dog tags is too thin.

Hi Frank, the size of our dogtags and stamped fonts ( both embossed and Debossed) comply with military specifications. We do offer an large embossed font which is more suitable for those with vision impairment, however this is it outside of military spec.

My husband was in the military when.he was younger and lost his dogtags and I was able to order him a new pair that look just like the ones he had! Very beautiful

Hi Teia, we appreciate your review and your husband's military service. Was there anything wrong with the tags that warranted a 3/5 star review?
Posted 1 year ago
Tags look good but when ordering hard to review what you type so this may cause error on. Tags.

HI Lance, We are bit confused by your review. We take great pride in our Dogtag maker website since it shows a preview image of what your dogtags will look allowing you check for any mistakes and approve the layout yourself before paying.

They didn’t have the niche, otherwise okay

Hi Dave, It seems that you ordered modern style military tags without a notch. We do indeed carry WWII/Korea/Vietnam war era dogtags with a notch and deboss text, however you need to specifically choose that style of tag or use an appropriate template https://www.mydogtag.com/dogtag-timeline.php Please email us and we can help you find the correct tag and format.

The letters need too be larger that all

Hi Robert, Thanks for your review. Both our modern emboss and vintage deboss letters meet the size specifications for the military. Nevertheless, we do indeed offer a non mil-spec larger emboss font which is easier to read for those with sight impairments.

Positive: -they are metal and can bend - embossing depth even - same size as original tags - rolled edge and lettering on same side as original tags - got information right -arrived in timely manner Negative: - rolled edge is twice the width as original issued tags and is tamped flat - metal used feels like plastic (it isn't I checked) - lettering was a bit uneven in spacing, but not dramatically -lettering should be shifted left around the hole for the chain. (I did shift left, but it wasn't quite far enough) - if attempting to recreate old tags (navy) you must use advanced settings and even then it won't have enough characters. Neutral: - if AD navy and plan to wear in uniform do not wear the chain sent. Instruction states chain must have USN stamped on. Can purchase from NEX uniform shop as of 2022. - template itself is too concerned with whether or not silencers cover lettering -unknown if metal will melt or warp under heat -unknown if silencers will go gummy under moderate heat (for stations in hot climates)

I was hoping the vietnam indicator was an actual dogtag, not a sticker. As far the stamping of the dogtags A++++, just the sticker was a let down.

Hi Ray, thanks for your feedback. Our website clearly describes that product as a decal/sticker. We would be happy to refund you the 99 cents you paid for it. Sorry but we do not carry pre-printed Vietnam Service ribbon dogtags.

I should have gotten the next tags up as barely can read these…

Hi Terry, Our Vietnam war era dogtag replicas are made according to the same standards used in the 1960s using an indented 'deboss' font which is indeed harder to read than the modern emboss font, but is true to the era. It should be noted that deboss tags were never designed to be read by people, rather their purpose is for transcribing the dogtag information to carbon copy medical paperwork (like an old mechanical credit card machine). Nevertheless it is possible to make them easier to read by rubbing in black shoe polish (a service which we offer), as shown here: https://www.mydogtag.com/blog/debossed-darkened-letter-dog-tags Alternatively, when placing an order we suggest choosing the modern emboss font (even when making WW2, Korea, and Vietnam era tags), if legibility is critical for you.

I have already made a reply the day I received the tags, an was given a discount for the next time. I don't think that will be necessary. I guess I was expecting exact duplicates of my original tags. The metal used here is much thinner and the embossing is not the same. and is much deeper I think, Because of the medal being so thin. I will keep these as a reminder of the day. I should have kept a better eye on mine and not lost them. But in the day you may remember a Viet Nam vet was not every one's favorite. So I put them away and forgot them. But thank you for the discount, next time. Bill

Yes, resemble “original” Navy dog tags I was issued in 1969, but seem very thin and cheap. For the price ok but “not” same as issued.

Hi John, Thank you for your review and feedback. Our tags are the same as the US military currently issues. They are thinner than tags that were issued before the late 90s. Current regulations call for tags 0.014" thick, in 1967 the regulations were for 0.016" thick, and going back to WW2 they were 0.025" thick. Thank you for your military service.

The site indicated that there would be a free gift, if two or more dog tags were purchased. I have purchase eight sets of dog tags and was charged for eight boxes. I will NOT be recommending this site to another customer.

Chain is bad quality. The mating piece is made of thin material which bends easily and allows chain to come apart.

Hi Carlos, Thanks for your reply. All of our chains are made in the USA of mil-spec 304 stainless steel designed to last a lifetime. Please reply to us via email so we can investigate the problem.
