This company is intentionally deceptive. Do not purchase from them, and frankly, do not support them by purchasing from Pela (they have acquired Habitat Botanicals). If you have received a package from them that you don't remember ordering, DO NOT OPEN IT AND RETURN IT TO SENDER. Habitat Botanicals will have to pay for the return shipping costs.

I wanted to try a product from here and was offered a trial of 1 product for $1 after purchasing a Pela case. Unclear to me at the time, while doing this I was signing up for them to send 3 more of this product a couple weeks later and charge $30. As I had only recently received the first product not only did I not require 3 more that soon, it was very unclear that this "subscription" service was now active. I suppose the emails they sent went to my spam folder in regards to this service. I also had to create an account to cancel this subscription as I did not have one before, which not sure how I would have a subscription to an organization without even having an account with them. Needless to say, I wasn't able to cancel the order. Overall disappointing and can't imagine this is the first time this has happened.

I was so excited when I found these toothbrushes, they were all natural materials and plastic free. Loved them right away. Unfortunately the 'rebrand' changed the shape of both the brush handle and the bristles which I'm really just not a fan of. It was really disappointing getting my new brush this time around.

I wish I would have read other reviews before doing their deceptive "$1 Free Trial". I was signed up for a recurring "subscription", without my consent. I had not even created an account on their website, but they saved my credit card information and sent me an "order confirmation" about a month later for my "refill" of 3 deodorants. I emailed back less than 4 hours later, to request that the order be cancelled because I never signed up for a subscription. I was told that the order cannot be stopped once it is in process, but I was welcome to return the order for a refund, and pay the return shipping at my own expense. Two days after the order confirmation, I got a shipping notification. SO WHY COULDN'T THE ORDER BE STOPPED BEFORE IT WAS SHIPPED?!? This company is intentionally deceptive. There is so much information on their "product description", that is super unclear, and obviously a lot of people are having this same problem. Even the order confirmation email for my original $1 Free Trial product did not state ANYWHERE that I was being signed up for a subscription. I was told that I would need to create an account on their website in order to "cancel my subscription". This is soooo shady! Why would I have a subscription with you if I have never even created an account?! I don't want an account on your website, but I HAVE to create one just to cancel my subscription that I never signed up for! I am all for natural products and eco-friendly practices, and I am not a person to leave bad reviews, but this company is scamming people and that really sucks. To top it off, I didn't even like the deodorant. I have been using natural deodorants for years, and this one did not work for me. Also, the cardboard tube is a great plastic reducer, but it was impossible to push up. I would not have taken the time to leave a bad review for that, but the shady/scammy business practices force me to. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU ACTUALLY WANT A SUBSCRIPTION!

If I could give zero stars, I would! PLEASE don't buy from this company. It is a horrible scam. Their website is intentionally deceiving, and they sign you up for subscriptions without your consent. I am infuriated!

terrible, TERRIBLE SCAM OF A COMPANY. They signed me up for a subscription I never made an account for and decided to send me 3 deodorants I never ordered, wanted, or needed. It's TERRIBLE to do this to people in the midst of a global pandemic that's impacting people's financial situations. Now I have to try and dispute a charge for $30 worth of deodorant. Absolutely awful company.

Great products. Fully waste free packaging. Ordered with my Pela Case code and got the bundle. So far I've had the chance to try out the lip balm, deodorant, and conditioner bar and all three have been great. I definitely would not need a monthly delivery but would certainly order again when needed. For all the people saying its a scam and that they got charged again and had no way of unsubscribing without an account....do your research before jumping on these types of promotions. There were several pop ups when placing my order that this was a subscription service and that I could cancel or defer a month at any time. They also have FAQs on the website outlining how to do that. Shipping came quickly, products were great, cancelled by subscription for right now very easily but am looking forward to placing another order in the future.

I got the shampoo bar and conditioner bar and I love them both. I got the shampoo bar for oily hair and I was worried that it would dry my hair out but it left it smooth and clean feeling. The conditioner bar is a little difficult to use but it leaves my hair feeling great. I will be repurchasing.

I got a deodorant and then weeks later received an email about a subscription. I tried to log in but couldn’t remember a password so I asked to reset it. Never got that email a day later I was charged $30 for a package so I emailed their help team and was told I needed to create an account (I’d never had one to begin with apparently). So I cancelled the subscription and then emailed to cancel the order but was then told that it had already processed so I needed to wait until it arrived (it hadn’t shipped yet) and then pay out of pocket to ship it back to them before I could get a refund.

Don't bother! Total scam. They send you decent products but automatically subscribe you for far more expensive products and the website is NOT user friendly. I couldn't get my password to work so I couldn't log on to cancel and it took several tries to actually reach someone who would cancel my subscription for me. Scammmy Scam Scam!

Not worth your time or money!!! This company is awful in every aspect from shipping to customer service to the product itself. Conditioner bars are stiff and crumble but feels like rubbing glue dots in my hair that dont condition and instead just stick. the deodorant is impossible to push up and is so lumpy that it feels like rubbing your pits with sand paper. this company chooses to ignore requests for a refund instead of actually adhering to their policy. Shampoo feels like it is damaging my hair. Please continue your search for low waste alternatives elseware with a more reputable company.

They literally think of everything. I was worried that now with covid-19 I was gonna have everything delivered with a lot of packaging and plastic. But no, everything came in a simple paper bag and it had reused paper as padding. I was seriously amazed! Products look and smell amazing, can't wait to use them.

Recently ordered the deodorant in coconut vanilla using the discount given by Pela. The deodorant tube has a packaging method like that of a push pop and I think its absolutely ingenious. The feeling is nice, not bulky or sticky and the fragrance isn't overpowering. Doesn't really smell like coconut and vanilla, more like licorice but I am totally cool with that. I have sensitive skin so if it ends up being too much on my pits I'll update my review. Also, it shipped in biodegradable packaging which is a hit.

It's a scam. I just got charged $30.80 for a $1 sample. READ OTHER REVIEWS who all had the same type of thing happen them! It's sad business is run this way by some companies like this one.

CAN I JUST SAY HOW HAPPY I AM I FOUND HABITAT BOTANICALS!! Okay, now that I have your attention... I received an email promo from Pela Case about this company and I was a little hesitant because they were offering such an amazing deal! I mean, a 100% natural and compostable product for ONLY 1 DOLLAR? WOW! So I just decided to trust Pela because they have such amazing products, and why not right?! Cut to me receiving a bundle of their products for only $8 USD SUPER QUICKLY MIGHT I ADD and I AM AMAZED! I have been using all natural deodorants for a DECADE and I still haven't found one that works 100% all the time. TMI right here: I sweat A LOT and it's not pleasant smelling to say the least haha. BUT.. BUT! Now that I have Habitat Botanicals Coconut Vanilla Deodorant I SMELL DIVINE!!! Previously to this brilliance I would literally sweat IN MY SLEEP??? And now I wake up smelling like a normal human with slightly coconuty/vanilla-y skin... like I'm some kind of goddess! Hells yeah I am ;) Thank you so much Habitat Botanicals for making such an amazing product that I can stand by FOREVER because I can compost the packaging when I'm finished! I've also signed up for the membership, so I can share with my family! Just totally amazed and in love. End of essay ;)

I got samples, like everyone else. The delivery time was fast, only about 2 weeks. However, I was a bit disappointed with the actual products. I have ordered from this company before, back when they were Natural Vegan and their products were great. However, with this new leadership, I just felt that the products weren't as great. I haven't used them yet, so maybe it will be better than I think.

In June I ordered the Everything in One Bundle Package. I'm disappointed that every products looks very different from the photos and is much smaller. There are stickers over each product which makes it hard to open, and leaves a sticky residue if you take it off. I wish I knew what I was getting!

first of all they are opaque and vaguely scammy! i only wanted a sample not a recurring subscription!! I didn't know it was a subscription until i got an email saying my "order" was on the way. I didn't set up an account but when I tried to so i could cancel this subscription nonsense their less than user-friendly website helpfully told me that an account was already using my email, but none of my standard throwaway passwords worked! also, I tried to reset the password but to no avail. no reset email has arrived and now the 'super-helpful' website is saying I tried that too many times. also: also, literally every time I try to log in or reset the password or create an account their stupid reCaptcha thing demand I identify some stop signs for their computer algorithms, literally seconds after I had just finished doing so for them. as for their products, I've only used them once and can't say anything positive or negative. but in what insane world do I need a monthly subscription for bar shampoo and conditioner?!? I don't blow through that much regular liquid shampoo or conditioner in a month and I have a freakish amount of hair…sooo how is any of this environmentally conscientious let alone "friendly" also i am honestly more than a little disappointed in pela case for associating with this mess

I took advantage of the samples they were selling off of the Pela case website, so automatically this signed me up for a subscription. Since I hadn't created an account with them, I figured that I didn't have a subscription with them, and I had just made a one-time purchase. They notified me that my subscription was about to be renewed... what subscription? I try to login, and realized that I didn't have an account with them. So I figured that this notification of my renewal was their way of trying to get me to sign up for a subscription. Yesterday, I received a confirmation for an order of 3 deodorants, 3 shampoo bars, and 3 conditioners for a total of $91.80! I email them and they tell me that they cannot refund me because the order has been confirmed, even though I had no way of knowing this was coming, because I didn't have an account with them. The order has not shipped out yet, and they still cannot cancel the order. Now they tell me that I have to pay ship it back to them and they will refund my order. So to cancel my subscription, I had to create an account with them - confusing, right? This company is a mess. Great idea, but very poorly executed. Would not recommend getting involved. Don't take the bait on the samples!
