AVOID PAYPAL - Terrible company with useless service Terrible company with useless service. They have such convoluted policies that even their customer service is not able to clarify what it means. I made a payment to a customer and the customer asked me to cancel the transaction as the shipping address was incorrect. Paypal put the transaction on hold and said that it is under review. This is even after calling their support team.. Can you imagine that? They told me that it was under review for 24 hours. But they could not tell me why it was under review. There are many more issues that they create but this is just a start. Keep in mind that I am the payer and I called to cancel and they are reviewing me?. No wonder their share price is struggling and dropped from $350 to $60. Clearly in the dumps. A terrible company and must be avoided at all costs. Use Venmo, Stripe, and Square or the bank directly to pay.

As a tourist, I was in Florida, USA. I had my bag stolen. I bought a paypal debit card from family dollar to use it temporarily. I deposited the last money I had left in my pocket into the card. Turns out the card was not active! My first question; How to load money to an inactive card? Shouldn't it be active as soon as it is loaded? Then I had to call customer service to get it activated. And for this you need to know good English. I didn't have enough English! After calling customer service, we saw that. You need to register with SSN for the card to be active! My second question is, how can you sell it to everyone and in easily accessible markets like Family Dollar? Don't you need to warn people? I gave the card to a friend of mine who has SSN. He registered but could not use it. We called customer service countless times for about 1 month. Neither the card was activated nor could we receive my money. and even though we sent them the passport information and address information they requested. We couldn't convince them that the card belonged to us. I think paypal is committing fraud this way. If you are a tourist, never take paypal! Don't let Paypal scam you out of the last money in your pocket

PayPal Are Breaching Their Own Terms and Conditions!!! We have had an issue with PayPal where they have been holding money for 180 days and this has gone on for 5 years where they say they will release the funds after 180 days and then simply add 180 days more saying it is to protect themselves against chargebacks. We thought this was absurd to put it mildly how can there be a chargeback after 5 years when we never had issues in the 10+ years we used the account? We asked PayPal to agree to ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) they have ignored the request then when looking at the web we found a Private Investigation agency is looking into PayPal the posting on the invetigators site said "PayPal in Canada Breaching their own terms and conditions relating to alternative dispute resolution" we spoke to them and they suggested writing to PayPal in Toronto so we sent a letter with signature on delivery but have heard nothing. Below is what appears in their terms and conditions as the investigator says they are breaching their own T&C's we have all the proof if PayPal contact us but we are not holding our breath! "6. Disputes If a dispute arises between you and PayPal, our goal is to learn about and address your concerns. If we are unable to address your concerns to your satisfaction, we will seek to provide you with a neutral and cost-effective means of resolving the dispute quickly. Disputes between you and PayPal regarding the Service may be reported to Customer Service. Please click here for Customer Service. A party requesting relief may elect to resolve a claim (excluding claims for injunctive or other equitable relief) in a cost-effective manner through binding non-appearance-based arbitration if the total amount of the award sought is less than $10,000.00 CAD. A party electing arbitration will do so through an established alternative dispute resolution ("ADR") provider mutually agreed upon by the parties. The ADR provider and the parties must comply with the following rules: (i) the arbitration shall be conducted by telephone, online and/or be solely based on written submissions, with the specific manner to be chosen by the party initiating the arbitration; (ii) the arbitration shall not involve any personal appearance by the parties or witnesses unless otherwise mutually agreed by the parties; and (iii) any judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction."

They have ridiculous refund requirements now. I was a 20 year customer, but will be taking my next 20 years of business elsewhere. I bought an item from a seller, who chose the method of shipping, not me. He chose UPS SurePost (UPS transports package but USPS makes the delivery) because it saves him a few bucks, but leaves his recipients open to claim issues. Seller provided tracking and the package ended up delivered somewhere else. I took the delivery photo from the carrier and uploaded to PayPal, along with other evidence to support my claim. They did not review my case, but rather auto-closed it within 5 minutes after the seller input the tracking number of the misdelivered parcel. Once the case is closed, you cannot open it again for “item not received” - you can only progress it to another form of complaint. Now the seller won’t communicate with me because I opened the claim and PayPal decided in his favor. First he told me to file the claim with UPS, but when I tried I was advised that only the shipper could file claims on that account! Paypal will ONLY accept as evidence - that I the buyer who did not choose the shipping service - reach out to UPS to file a claim and get a signed affidavit on official UPS Letterhead stating that they acknowledge that they misdelivered my package and are unable to retrieve it. They want the person who paid and is out money - to contact the shipping service that the seller chose (was not stated in listing the a subpar shipping service would be used) and get a signed affidavit??? Absolutely not. Attaching photos as proof to how ridiculous this is. It is obviously not my home - delivered photo shows no doormat, no tan metal security door, and has dirt to the left of the doorway where I have flowers and greenery. That should be evidence enough to support my claim. Time stamped photos. But they claim only a signed affidavit from UPS will be accepted.

I have filed a BBB Complaint against PayPal because of the treatment I have received since using their Buyer Protection Policy. In short I made a purchase of a musical instrument, that was not anywhere near what was described. I made 5 payments (2 for the item and 3 for shipping and handling), which resulted in 5 claims when the item arrived with over 30 holes drilled into it and covered over with putty, tar dripped on the item, and cracks in the item. I supplied over 30 pictures of the damage. This led to 4 of the cases being closed by PayPal in my favor and a refund of all the money except for 500.00 dollars, which the last claim was for, and was pending at the time the PayPal Customer Service associate, who closed the 4 cases in my favor. The last case has created an unbelievable response by PayPal's claim department. First they made my wife and I take the instrument to Guitar Center and get it deemed damaged and worthless, which we did. Next they said we would need to file a FBI claim. Then they said we would need to ship the item back to the seller, who ripped us off and did not request the item... and that would be at our expense, which would be over 1,000.00. (So spend 1,000.00 to get the remaining 500.00) I called on 03-31-2023 and spoke to a Supervisor at PayPal who informed me (promised me) that I would get my money back and the (PayPal case) would be closed in my favor, as she deemed it should be. I have the recorded phone call which verifies this. To my surprise, even though I was promised by the supervisor, on 03-31-2023 that I would receive a refund and the final open case would be closed in my favor...PayPal’s claim's department on 04-10-2023 instead retaliated by ignoring the supervisor's promise and instead placed my account in a collections standing. In the attached call you can hear PayPal saying that my account is in a status of "attempting to collect a debt", and then states that "the account is in good standing with nothing owed." I have been a customer for 23 years at PayPal. I never would believe a company could treat someone like this and get by with it. Be warned PayPal do not honor their own policies.

We have raised funds for our charity on FB which only pays through PayPal. However, PayPal for some reason has put a limitation on our account and so we cannot get the donations. PayPal has asked us to upload a bank statement and a government-issued tax exemption document. We have done that. More than once - and yet, nothing... We have uploaded a letter from HMRC and our bank statements. Every time we call, we talk to a different person, we need to explain the whole situation again and again. They all promise: upload these documents, this time it will work... It never does. Last email received - and please, read carefully!! -: "We've received your government-issued tax exemption document, but we also need a bank statement. Please upload a bank statement that shows the charity name. We've received your company house registration number, but we also need you to upload a government-issued tax exemption document for your charity." In the same message they both acknowledge to have received the government-issued tax exemption document and they ask us to send them a government-issued tax exemption letter. Is this a joke? And this has been going on for months. We will raise an official complaint with the Financial Ombudsman.

I had an issue with PayPal where a seller refund they sent me appeared in my account as a 'debit' in my account instead of a 'credit'. This transaction then mysteriously disappeared next day and PayPal sent me an email notifying the credit had “now been processed”. I made a complaint via message system raising concerns about their 'woke' business model and their reply stated "May i know if you received any email about PayPal Woke?, if yes can you please share the screen shot as I am unable to see any such email sent to your account." If PayPal’s messenger drones are using this script to reply to complaints I guess senior management are getting concerned by the number of customers now closing accounts – closed my account.

PayPal User read this; I have had PayPal for a couple years without issues but recently that has changed. I have noticed missing money from my debit card that was linked but I never could say forsure. Anyway I had $30 sent to me and then requested back (yes as crazy as that sounds PayPal does that, they also will draw money off of a linked card if a charge is made to your account that doesn't have the funds to cover it), and my account did not show for the $30 back they took when a deposit was made to my account. So I called and PayPal acted as if they didn't know what I was talking about, until I got heated. Then they admitted it. So i tried to unlink my cards and I couldn't so I called and had them unlinked. So for doing this my account was limited. All 4 accounts I have businesses pay me money from work through. But I had closed 2 of these accounts and was trying to limit my use of PayPal and go to direct deposit with as many companies as I could. I literally get paid from dozens of companies ranging from a few dollars to maybe a few thousand at a time. I received an email the 12th of December from PayPal stating $321 had been sent from a company in Ohio (Alta 360) , which I worked for, for over a year. And to claim my money I needed to click the link in the email, which was an account I had closed some days prior. So I did so and nothing, I have called several times and messaged. Then yesterday, I was told I needed to link a card first to get my money, and after several attempts and calls over a several day period to do so, without it linking, or saying the card was linked to another account (which it was not) . I finally got it linked and now PayPal says they don't know about $321 dollars and asked for a screenshot of email, so I sent them a screenshot of email . Now they say they need transaction ID after days of me calling and messaging saying they need something else and after I produce what was previously asked. Now they also say they didn't send an email ? Well I'll call Alta 360 tomorrow and get that. I also told them they need to be sued which probably didn't help but is true. PayPal isn't what it used to be a year ago, it really has went downhill and customer service has no answers to your questions or gives you the runaround. I am definitely switching everything over to direct deposit or I may not work for that company anymore. Let this be a warning for you PayPal users.

Completely untrustful company There were numerous problems yesterday when I tried to transfer money from my own bank account to PayPal. Paypal asked a dozen times for SMS, email and other verifications. I verified myself and transfers several times with bank IDs. After making the SEPA transfer from the bank account to PayPal, the money left the account but did not appear in PayPal. After several hours, I got in touch with a chat service where the issue didn’t work out. I was then called from PayPal (English only, no service available in my own language) and again asked for multiple verifications (account number, SMS verification and personal information), despite PayPal calling me. Paypal said there is a security risk when a customer with their bank IDs transfers money from their own bank account to the PayPal service and they need to verify the correctness of the transfer (despite the bank identification). PayPal claims the problem was with the Chrome browser I was using (?). Finally, today the money appeared in my PayPal account. PayPal is displayed as the payer of the money, so PayPal has taken over the money for the duration of the check. I do not understand the nature of the check because I paid the money with my bank ID from my bank account to my PayPal account. Today I tried to pay for a purchase in an online store (Proshop.com). Payment for the purchase was suspended 21 times. I received an SMS verification request 11 times, 2 times I was asked to change my password and despite that the payment was not successful. Each time there was a message "We are unable to complete your purchase right now, return to the merchant page and try again" After 48 minutes and more than 20 attempts, I tried to contact the chat service. The chat service did not work at all. I called PayPal. Again, service in English only. PayPal explained that again there is a security risk and payment cannot be made. Said I could try to pay again after 72 hours. According to PayPal, they can’t say where the fault is, they just explained that it’s a security risk. No need to explain that no transaction waits 72 hours for a pending payment transaction (ProShop waits 10 minutes) The product was not purchased. Now I tried to transfer money from PayPal back to my bank account without success. PayPal's statement: "There was a problem. We weren't able to transfer the money to the bank right now." I am now unable to transfer my own money from my PayPal account to my own bank account. The account is the same from which I transferred the money to PayPal. PayPal now has over € 1,000 of money stuck, and there is no information on when they can be transferred back to my own bank account. PayPal is a completely invalid system. Transferring money from your own bank account with bank IDs is a "security risk", paying for purchases in a large online store is not possible because it is a security risk, and your own money cannot be transferred back to your own bank account. As of this writing I am not yet back with my money and do not know when I will receive it I strongly advise you to avoid using PayPal.

is my money transferred to my account, or not On 24th Jun I initiate a transfer from my PayPal account for an amount of $247.04 to my Community Federal Savings Bank Account ending in x-1028, with transaction id 3W576351PN327024T I receive an email from PayPal 26th Jun, as "Electronic funds transfer declined", as follows: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Community Federal Savings Bank declined Minimum Balance Manager's second attempt to transfer money from your bank account to your PayPal account. Balance Manager has been turned off and won't make any more attempts to restore the minimum balance that you set. To turn Balance Manager back on, log in to your PayPal account, go to your Profile, click "My money", and update the "Balance Manager" section. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I check my online banking via Payoneer. It shows the a deposit as PayPal XX-011028 for amount of $244.57, with the transaction fee included. This is from the transfer on the 24th @ $247.04. There is a discrepancy on the email and online banking. PayPal says the money isn't transferred. My online banking shows it is. And my linked account is automatically removed from PayPal. I receive an email from Payoneer yesterday morning at 04:55am which says my bank account, and Mastercard are frozen, linked to company Wirecard AG. So what's happened is, soon after I transfer the money from PayPal to my bank account, it's frozen. My money transferred To my account Turns to a black hole ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On these discrepancies, I put it to the test by heading on to Galaxy Mall 3 where there is a BCA ATM. I go ahead with a withdrawal using my Mastercard. The ATM screen shows "your card is not usable any more". I take a photo of the ATM screen. I take a video of me putting the card in the ATM, going for the withdrawal, and the same message appearing on the ATM screen. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On a return visit to the mall, I head for the Ranch Market Foodmall. I go for a reattempt to bill my card for my groceries. The Visa / Mastercard terminal shows "do not honor". My Mastercard neither works at an ATM, nor when going for the chip reader. I take a photos, and a video of the terminal rejecting my purchase with my card in the reader. It's confirmed. I cannot withdraw my money, nor make any purchases with my card. The email from Payoneer says Wirecard is insolvent on Thursday. The Visa / Mastercard terminal device is linked to the same company as the one linked to my frozen funds. It says Wirecard on the terminal screen, and sticker on the side of the unit - the terminal is operational at the grocery store. This doesn't explain why my money transferred to my account is inaccessible, and the Visa / Mastercard Wirecard terminal is in use, in the field, without being recalled or frozen too. access to my money, rendered inaccessible Following an implementation with PayPal, my first customer makes payment via this channel 06 Dec, 2019. I link my US Community Federal Savings bank account x-1028 to my PayPal profile. I go ahead with my first transfer of funds from my PayPal profile to my bank account 01 Jan, 2020. It's the first of 62 successful transfers between my PayPal profile and my bank account. On 26 Jun, 2020 I get an email from PayPal ~7 months later: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "A recent transaction with your bank account ending in xx-1028 didn't go through. As a result, we have removed this bank account from your PayPal account. To re-add this bank account to your PayPal account, please confirm with your bank that all information is correct." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's discovered this end, my bank account and / or linked Mastercard card(s) are frozen supposedly due to Wirecard AG filing for insolvency 25 Jun, 2020. It turns out the transfer from PayPal does go through to my account, from which my money can no longer be accessed, by me. I get an email from Payoneer my card(s) and / or accounts are unfrozen 30 Jun, 2020 as "the FCA has completed its audit and lifted the freeze". I go for restoring my prior working configuration with PayPal. How. Simply by re-linking my bank account PayPal delinks. Not so simple. My same account cannot be linked. PayPal respond on this as: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The type of Bank that you are trying to add is not compatible with PayPal. Withdrawals to this type of bank account may usually be declined by the bank. I recommend you add an account issued in US soil. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PayPal's response is obviously incorrect. Proven 62 times in a row. And my account is a US account. I cannot gain access to my own money. First on the freezing of my cards. Then on the link between my PayPal profile and my bank account taken out. And without me being able to re-establish the link between the two. From one day to the next... I'm cut off from accessing my own money. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a list of PayPal transaction identifiers on the 62 successful transfers to my bank account supposedly "not compatible with PayPal" 0JN82331X1852724P 4JK3583207411591M 8XM67129H7034984X 0P512363NE844032T 3WC09483YA9719406 1PU77496KK143050L 6VC78836GP4806720 7NN55024GP4965130 3JY84797FM268072N 3TN49286KA201684T 31U73668N17596248 12652097CA766800Y 4RL22022AL6196022 3FX11419DG4293119 5KE80337JR763441F 2V808371K3295253G 1PV32361AT359382K 8W487526TJ015622K 2M661309CV8268229 9VP80159WP4319055 4VH2091421402514L 3MV14584WJ2809640 3G518221M85793218 5RG11095LH8931545 64X15032AU022392X 4K072363FK525932K 6P751192NH2549740 5H745055B6038761R 3SR241309F093662N 7N502980H91365510 8S257350F1263472J 5W111628CJ810963G 48N3826130304380T 8TD00391P7326121W 0AP6933945826160R 94338315FE702322H 4RV1762571020205U 8GF165456P290535W 5LA465115Y827725B 7MA09816W6291560R 83J57984UT499152S 4RT19812XX455560L 36J24805RC319961U 2T536081J0698624M 0T2743070J231994K 2EL0676605746934V 05991157VW8501457 90B28018LY759734T 0TJ013655U789745B 2PK36130UJ9382548 6MR964329V005262A 9TB53107DK698240D 4NH78510NM652132K 1HC555759B731253S 4MY71624GK5599119 0PR207935R658390V 972297378N2932527 5MG67520PM886484H 01P9192567769090G 2EU5400573682225G 2FV01715WK7156157 3W576351PN327024T ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Refer to my Google Drive folder https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/18-DRemdzyzg_EXvbNZUd9tBDxXlb5NoL for supporting documentation &o emails.
