“I love a lot of their clothes. Yes, you have to be discerning when reading the descriptions, but if you are the clothes are worth every penny. Some styles are very short and boxy or flimsy but if you look at the photos and read the “finer points” that accompanies each item in the catalog you get a pretty good idea. I own 30 items mostly linen or hemp shirts and thick cotton sweaters and love every piece. They were challenged over the holidays with shipping and they have changed that to FedEx only as the USPS and customs was awful. With FedEx I have not had any problems.”

“I have been buying clothing from Poetry for about three years. I have been very happy with everything I bought. I have purchased three linen shirts that I wear a lot and the quality is excellent. I also purchased a light cotton top which I am obsessed with. It’s so comfortable and fits well. I will continue to purchase from them. My only gripe would be that it’s a little pricey and they rarely have Sales.”

“After placing an order for a linen dress I enquired about the length of time to it being delivered. It was out of stock so I replied saying I wasn't happy to proceed due to the poor reviews posted. I got a phone call almost straight away from Mariam at Poetry and after a very pleasant discussion I got a very satisfactory result. I was impressed with fact I got a phone call and not just another email in reply. Judging from how the call was handled I would say Poetry is decent company to deal with.”

“I had been getting a catalog for a year. I love the look of almost all of their clothes. I hesitated to purchase any as 99 1/2% of their reviews got poor ratings for clothes and customer service. LaShanda, in customer service, in the Margate Florida facility, which I now believe is closed as the phone number is no longer viable, gave me confidence to try one item. I tried the chunky linen sweater. It arrived damaged. I was able to return it and I was not charged for using the label. They sent another sweater and I really liked it. I washed it by hand, as they suggested, even before I wore it. I laid it flat on a towel. It shrunk and was misshapen and the fibers were very stiff. The style is there and the quality is not. It is also quite expensive for what it is. The good news is I called their number in England and spoke with a Mr. Thomas Higgs. He was very reliable. He told me to return the sweater and that I would get a credit. It took a while, but then again it is international, but I did get the credit. So for customer service they get a good rating. If they had a facility in the United States I might try something else but since they seem to have closed the one here I am reluctant to do any more business with them. If it helps anyone they are what J Jill was when it was terrific, used to be.”

“I loved the catalog items and was ready to place a $750 order - then read the reviews. I have no desire to risk the hassle so many others have discussed. Too bad as I really liked the styles. Linda C”

“There will never come a time that I pay $135.00 for a top through which my undergarments can be seen. Both tops were paper thin. Sending both back.”

“Everything in the catalog is just what I would like. Unfortunately, after waiting a year because I was afraid to order anything due to the previous reviews of others, I did order a sweater. It arrived damaged. I did exchange it. This one was fine. You must allow two weeks to receive anything. The bottom line is the quality is not there for the price. I can give a very good review for the customer service I received from LaShanda in customer service. I hesitate to order anything again even though the styles are just what I like.”

“I am so sad to read these reviews. I got a catalog in the mail today. Had never heard of Poetry. I want to buy everything! I absolutely love everything about their clothing. I’m waiting though. Just too afraid to order having read the reviews. 😢”

“JUST AWFUL PEOPLE..NO REFUNDS even when returned and I had waited months to get the product and then they got it back and I can't get my money back..a 3 month run around...disgusting”

“HORRIBLE!!~!!!!! Took over a month to get the order "held up at customs and they couldn't' find it" when hit finally came I returned it, they received it but will not process a refund with one excuse or another. Still haven't received and this has been non stop back and forth emails w/bulls**t. Months now, NEVER BUY FROM THEM...clothes not cut well either! what a mess...it's like they've stolen $500 from me.”

“I had good luck with my first order. It was perfect. I placed another order and half arrived. The other half has now taken a month. It has been stuck in New York. I tried emailing Poetry to no avail. I will not be ordering again, which is a shame as I like their clothing.”

“Really disappointed with your customer service. My mother bought me a Christmas present from you in the knowledge that it could be exchanged for something else if it wasn't right, as it clearly stated in your terms and conditions 'If you would like to exchange for something different from our collection, please call Customer Care'. I have tried to do this only to be told by Customer Care that your systems don't allow this. And when I asked if I could have a credit note or gift voucher as most other companies will do in this situation apparently your systems 'can't be manipulated to accommodate these requests'. So a note to customers - if you are thinking of buying something from Poetry as a present, think again as if it is not right you will be stuck in their rigid systems, despite what they say in their own catalogues.”

“The company doesn’t keep the promise of delivering ordered items within the timeframe given on their website. Moreover, they have only emailed me that my items were dispatched (10 days after the order was placed) after two interventions from myself and eventually the PayPal resolution centre contacting them. In my emails, I did ask to cancel the order because I haven’t heard form them, however, they decided to dispatch my order anyway (I assume dealing with the return will be another hurdle to go through). The clothes are quite expensive, so I am a bit perplexed by the lack of customer care...I live in the UK and the company is based in the UK. Delivery shouldn’t take longer than 5 days”

“I bought a new coat. I knew it was coming from the UK so I ordered it using FedEx priority and got it in three days! the coat is beautiful and so is the material. Just make sure you check and see the size chart before choosing anything. frankly, I don't understand why anyone wouldn't do that before picking a size. Such great quality! The styles are so versatile. I'm so excited to wear this once the new semester starts. I'll be back Poetry!”
