this company rips you off! faithfully paid my bill every month right up to the last payment! and with 20 pounds left to pay due to a fault at their end payment defaulted and they cancelled my insurance without informing me whatsoever! they then took away the years no claims bonus i had earned through this year and left me driving my car with no knowledge whatsoever that i had no insurance! stay well clear of this company they tried to do exactly this to us the year previously but we noticed on was in top of it quick enough and this leads me to beleive they did this on purpose as the same mistake cant made twice on 2 seperate years! disgusting company heaven forbid they ever have to pay out for anything as i beleive they would try every trick in the book to wingle their way out of it!

Worst experience of my life with this company for my car insurance. They make it really difficult for you if you make a claim. They will find all sort of excuses and things in your policy to refuse you the claim payment or repair your car. Their staff is rude and unprofessional. I will not recommend this company to anyone . My advise is to stay away from this company or you will suffer if you need to make a claim later on.

I recently notified Provident Car Insurance of my Dad’s death and they have deducted a £25 cancellation fee from the policy refund. Absolutely disgraceful and unethical. Do not buy car insurance from this company!

I suggest you think very hard about insuring with Provident. The premium was lower by only a few pounds, but boy do they get it back in change fees, cancelation fees time consuming disagreements in the vent of a claim. Their attitude appears to be; we have the upper hand. AVOID

Avoid at all cost!! Only rated 1 star because zero wasn't an option! Don't use this company they more than doubled the insurance after I changed the vehicle and after speaking with them it turns out they don't like you changing your vehicle , like we had any choice in that matter!

I can't understand why they are laying the customers for money. I renewed my insurance and they didn't change my correct new address. For that they changed me more than £200 . Why ??? Be careful with the provident insurance.

Asked if I was entitled to refund as car not used for 14 weeks during covid19 lockdown. They offered to reduce my annual mileage by 750 miles and refund me 24 pence!!!!! My husband was contacted by his insurer and offered refund. LV, Admiral, Direct Line automatically offering refunds. Provident is taking our money for service not provided.Far less claims being made due to low level of vehicles on road during lockdown. Not happy will not be renewing next year.

I have two cars insured by them. I give them 1 star for one of them only. Facts: -volvo car 2.4 diesel engine, 15k miles annually, 11 years old - insurance 46£ monthly. -matiz 1.0 petrol engine, 5k miles annually, 14 years old, current insurance 36£ monthly. The second one increases to 45£ monthly. First one decreases year after year, second increases. To be mentioned: both 2 years ncb, both the same drivers (my wife and I). Circumstances did not change. PS: found another company with 28£ monthly (plus 45£ deposit). No documents required apart from an email with pictures of driving licence.

Find a better company. 2 years insurance with zero claims zero pounds any benefit from them and for my 3rd year on a manchester safe area address they dont want to renew my insurance. What rubbish , london was more dangerous place for car theft, catalytic theft and in a area where i saw in recent days 0 accidents 0 car theft in a safe area of manchester they refused me a policy.from 5 star to zero

I also rated 1 star as there wasn't a zero option. Extremely bad customer service. On a number of occasions have tried to phone but then sent around the houses to get to a competent member of staff who could deal with my enquiry. Failing on several occasions to resolve the issue over the phone, I decided to try and get them to communicate with me via email which is also failing miserably. Avoid this company - I agree with the other person who said their attitude seems to be "We have the upper hand".

Just cannot speak to anyone! 3 separate calls and held for over an hour each time to be cut off eventually. 2 emails, no reply. Online chat doesn’t work! Check their star rating. Wanted to renew for family member but decided to move companies due to poor service.

Very helpful insurance company, helped me through step by step when my car was written off by an uninsured driver, my only complaint is the need to charge you a fee every single time you want to make a slight change to your policy.

Absolutely APPALLING service, they refused to take a payment that they said had already been paid I adamantly told them I had not paid and needed too, they refused to take a payment after 45 mins on phone then told me a month later I recalled payment back from bank which was a blatant lie then refused to give me 5 days grace to pay and threatened to cancel my policy even though they was at fault, refused to let me speak to a supervisor or manager and made it so difficult for me to put a complaint in, DO NOT go with this company their service is shoddy at best and are very Unhelpful and then blatantly lie when they are in the wrong and to question they blackmail you with cancelling a no win situation for the customer absolutely disgraceful, their price went up on renewal also which I wasn't happy about even more no claims and same info as before yet following year went up 40. Go elsewhere not with these guys I am so disappointed over 2 yrs I have given them so much money!! Disgraceful customer service towards a loyal customer of 2 yrs. Disgusting!

I was with provident for a year until today changed my car within the year which was no hassle at all. The day before Xmas eve last year somebody ran into me on a roundabout I called provident to report this and ask about repairing my car, I had to chase the other person's insurance up and report the incident and they point blank refused to do anything about this. My insurance came up for renewal last week but it ended up "lapsed" as they said. So was left with no insurance and had to sort out new insurance. When you phone them it's always a very long wait to get through to someone and don't ever web chat them because you just get ignored on that. Avoid at all costs if you want a nice easy insurer to deal with
