I purchased the policy a) looking at the price of Β£32 & b) I'm a disable person & if I breakdown I need a hire car so that I can stop every 30 mins - 45 mins not sit in a recovery truck for 3-4 hours. Before I purchased the policy I read the Term & Conditions which clearly state: ALTERNATIVE TRAVEL What is covered If Your Vehicle is not repairable in the same working day that You first report the Incident to Us, or in a period agreed between Us and You, We will: ο‚· Pay up to Β£100 towards the cost of alternative transport or car hire for up to 7 passengers, including the Driver, to continue Your journey. Wording says NOT REPAIRABLE. To my surprise when I had a breakdown a couple of weeks ago & the the vehicle was not repairable I was told on the phone that car hire is only available if the car is NOT RECOVERABLE. When I argued my point that Terms & conditions make no mention of this I was told that this is our policy and you've paid a very low price for it. I feel very deceived & would not recommend this company to anyone

Do not buy breakdown cover with rescue my car until you have read my review. For about 6 years I have been a loyal customer mainly because of the price and me thinking national recovery means national recovery when it does NOT! On Saturday 7th of may 2022 at around 19:15 I broke down in Lancashire around 240 miles away from my home in surrey. I had a coolant leak and was certain this would not be fixed at the road side as it was a big leak. As I had national recovery, I thought I had nothing to worry about and I would get recovered home if it was not possible to fix at the roadside, But I had this wrong and that's when my problems started with this firm. I called rescue my car explained the situation, Rachel told me that even though I have national recovery it doesn't work like that, I was told that someone would attend and if it can't be fixed which I was certain it couldn't then it would only be recovered within 10 miles to the nearest garage and if it can't be fixed within 24 hours of a working day only then they may recover me home. It was Saturday evening with no garages open Sunday garages were closed and I would have to wait till Monday to be seen and that's when the 24 hours would start. I would have to pay for hotel out of my own pocket for the next 3 nights and only then they may recover me if the garage cannot fix it in 24 hours of the working day. After speaking to Rachel I spoke with a senior member of staff who was James. They couldn't careless off my situation even though I had purchased the top product they sold. I was in the middle off no where they were not willing to send a recovery driver unless I could tell them which garage within 10 miles I could go to. Me being unfamiliar with the area I was told to get off the phone and do a search of garages within 10 miles otherwise they will not send anyone to me, if I cannot name a garage close by I did ask for someone to be sent while I search online and then I could tell the driver but they said this is not possible. Just because the price is cheap it's actually one of the most expensive breakdown covers if you have to make a claim, taking into account no national recovery is offered even though you pay for it and you will have to take it to a garage within 10 miles only and then pay for a hotel out of your own pocket, while parts are sourced and garages can check issues. I'm now with a very well known breakdown company yes it's slightly expensive but they recovered me all the way home no questions asked and had other benefits. I guess you pay peanuts and you get monkeys. Do Not purchase breakdown cover with this company you will regret it if you breakdown. Call handlers were unhelpful and made it clear they didn't care about my situation. I will never use this company ever again! CHECK OTHER GOOGLE REVIEWS!

Not Fit For Purpose. I just wish I had read the reviews before buying this pseudo service. ..it really is that bad. I had ball joint failure and I was blocking the highway. Oddly enough the telephone number is not a freephone number which peaked my attention immediately on breakdown. Of course you end up jumping through hoops dealing with a phone robot...press number one etc. For heavens sake, you have broken down...pick up the phone in person. I explained I was blocking the traffic to the point that even the police had to put on their emergency lights initially. The car could not be pushed....this was a priority recovery and I made it very clear. I was anticipating getting recovered within an hour as Green Flag would and do predict. It took four hours to get recovered. Four hours of blocking the traffic with the constant threat of the police removing my car which would have led to the car being impounded. This company should be closed down by the government. ..they really are that terrible.

This company runs a scam. 35 taken from my account without any knowledge as to how they obtained my details. Did some checks, called them and they had no record of my car! Bank have been notified and logged as 3rd party fraud. Take my advice and please beware.

4 HOUR WAIT! ZERO STARS 🀬😑😑😠😀 Waited 1 hour got text saying recovery in 3 hours! Guy called 3 hours later said he only got the call 5 minutes ago....?! He'll be 1 hour! The call center is so unhelpful... Quotes like if you don't know where you are I can't help you and I will end the call! 🀬😑😠😀 I'm on a motorway I've given you the phone reference number a motorway sign number and my Tomtom help details! I could type more but what's the point? Just don't use them! The AA or RAC at a push green flag. I'll be ring for my refund. Joke of a company. πŸ€¬πŸ˜‘πŸ˜ πŸ˜€πŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘Ž

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This company might be cheap but trust me it’s worth spending the extra bit of money for an actual service. I rang this company at 6pm and booked my car in to be towed home, they said they would arrive at 8.15pm which is already quite a long time for a service that claims to be fast! After waiting till 8.30pm with no one in sight I decided to ring them as to which I was told that it would be past 10pm until someone can get to me. No one had tried to let me know there had been a 2 hour delay. I decided to get a taxi back home and come back out when they were actually there, at 10.30pm I rang them and they said they would be there for 10:46pm and I made sure this time it was actually going to be that time and customer support assured me it would. I get there and wait 5 mins before ringing back up to be told that it was going to be another 1.5 hours on top of that 🀣 with no explanation. Decided to cancel the booking as soon as I heard that. This company is beyond a joke and the woman at customer service can only be described as a β€˜Karen’ of this generation. Disgraceful company and appalling lack of empathy from the customer support team. Once again. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Laughable company. Please learn from my mistake. Never called them in two years, so thankful for that. Had a puncture yesterday, managed to limp the car home and called first thing this morning to be told that in order for them to attend/assist, I either had to have a spare tyre or a puncture repair kit. My car manufacturer stopped with spare tyres years ago, opting instead for run flats. And as for a puncture repair kit, surely this would negate the need for a call out service for this issue?! Call me cynical, but I'm not entirely sure how this company is rated so highly. It appears that I made a mistake by using a smaller company that is really looking to avoid helping at all costs. Thanks Rescuemycar - policy will be cancelled today with AA or RAC benefitting.

After almost 2 years of years of cover my vehicle broke down approximately 85 miles from home. I had personal breakdown which is supposed to cover myself in any vehicle with passengers. After much communication and arguments with rescue my car regarding recovery and being told they would NOT recover any passengers I had in my vehicle (FAMILY), which was a young adult female and 2 very young children, I was advised that they should make their own way home as this company could not send any recovery breakdown company that can carry 4 people. (LOAD OF RUBBISH according to the breakdown driver). Anyway after 4hrs 30mins stuck on the A55 in North Wales in ridiculous heat I was eventually recovered on my own with my vehicle and taken home. Anyway I had to make arrangements for another family member to travel to my breakdown location to collect my family and transport them home. Totalling a round trip of around 170miles at my expense. Oh but I was rudely told on the phone that if I wasn't happy with the service I had received I could always find another breakdown company and also to lodge a complaint. Well with the attitude I have already received I really don't see the point. Anyway. Less waffling my advice DO NOT USE THIS RIDICULOUS COMPANY FOR BREAKDOWN ASSISTANCE UNLESS YOU WANT A LOW QUALITY EXPERIENCE

Do not use this company!, disgraceful service. Broke down half ten at night got a txt β€œcan’t seem to get a driver”. Then a phone call telling me I had two options. I could either wait until 7 or later the following morning or could arrange my own recovery n they would reimburse me!!. Angry was an understatement these scroats left me having to get my niece to come n pick me up at idiot o clock! N all this after they took money off my card during the call so I could get recovered!!.

Do NOT use Rescue my car. Everytime I had to phone them waited between 15-30 minutes; waited approx,. 6 hours for the low loader to arrive and when he did arrive he could not take my car as already had a car. He was goingt to tow it but then I noticed that it would damage the underneath of the car.

Very bad service. Had to wait 7 hours in the car and yet no recovery van at sight at time of writing. The customer services advisors are very unprofessional and rude. The scheduled arrival time was moved four times to 1.20am. We are still 15miles away from home. Never use this company.

This company sells policies for a very cheap price and when you actually breakdown they will find many clauses not cover you and charge you hundreds of pounds to help. I was broken down on the M6, my tyre hit a pot hole and lost air. I tried the compressor but the tyre needed replacing. Called this joke of a company who were more interested in selling than helping, asked if I had a tyre puncture kit??? What?? Ok so I told her that my car is not supplied with a spare wheel so I'm sure the manufacturer would supply it yet I am not sure. She simply went on to say that I am not covered and I have to pay hundreds of pounds for rescue. The line was disconnected and she didn't even have the courtesy to call back. It takes up to an hour to connect to them. I called back and spoke to another guy and he went thru the same rhetoric. I told him I have a puncture repair kit as citeron supply it built into the compressor. He said he need to see a picture etc... funnily enough by his own admission he said the puncture repair kit doesn't work! So clearly his company use this so they can "bait" and "switch" which to my knowledge is illegal. I had already arranged for a mobile tyre fitter to sort it. This company also auto renew the policy at a higher price without permission. I have wrote to the complaints department, let's see what they say. Both the AA and RAC said they would not care if the motorist had a puncture repair kit or not and would simply be more concerned with getting the driver back on the road. Disgrace of a company, I'm going to share my story with an Asian newspaper and see if others have been ripped off by this company and if we can complain to a regulatory body and our banks that we have been duped by a bait and switch operation. If anyone else here would like to get in touch , Please email me at londonnicky(at)gmail.com

TO ALL THINKING OF USING THIS COMPANY I have had an awful experience with this company last night. They left my son stranded in the middle of the highlands with no village for 20 miles in any direction and quoted Β£200 to recover him because he didnt have a spare tyre and he hadn't replaced the run flat solution in the car. Ok he made a mistake but BE UNDER NO ILLUSION HERE PEOPLE, if they can get out of recovering you THEY WILL!! They left my son and his passengers stranded at 2.30am on the a9 in the middle of nowhere on a dangerous stretch of dual carriageway even though he has personal cover. I had to travel 3hrs myself with a spare with a friend that i had to wake up to self recover him. Upon discussion with the company, they are happy for you all to be educated on there fine print. They have no issues with leaving you high and dry in the event they can pull out of their obligations regardless of the danger to you or your passengers. They also have no interest in costomer satisfaction and will not give refunds if you wish to terminate your contract with them. Also if you have full personal recover and the vehicle you are traveling doesnt meet their required standards you will also be left to fend for your self or recovered at an additional cost. Their words not mine. I would STRONGLY advise you to look elsewhere for your cover as this is the only way i have of venting my anger and disgust at their service. Shame on you RescueMyCar.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating, or so they say! After looking at Trustpilot reviews and assessing the feedback against the AA, RAC, and Green Flag, I chose to go with Rescuemycar.com. Unfortunately, I suffered a breakdown, and that's where the issues started! In summary, where the long-winded version would last as long as the recovery took! - Inaccurate communication from the initial representative. - No breakdown assistance, if you want local assistance you need to identify an appropriate garage yourself. - Failure to offer relay to the original destination - Inability to recover driver and car, where the car had to go to storage for onward relay over 3 days. - Recovered the vehicle to storage, but would not provide any authorisation to transport driver to pick up alternative transport (despite earlier agreement) - Failed to advise on vehicle movements over the period, which resulted in a number of Tracker alerts (despite agreeing to keep informed) - Reassurance that the vehicle was safe in Walsall when in fact the vehicle was 170 miles away! Yes, you can save some money going with this company, but do not set the expectations too high if you actually need to call them for assistance. Woeful service, I have now decided to bin the cover and go with the AA instead.

Was informed by Jamie Brown that no longer has the vehicle at the time of renewal, my parents paid for it the year before but still took payment at renewal from their account πŸ™ they contacted them and was told payment would be returned, lied still took payment. Stay well clear pay extra for a reputable company.πŸ‘

Worst company ever! We have national recovery cover with alternative travels for up to 7 passengers (This is what this compnay promised in the policy) . But when car broke down they resuced only the car (Waiting time is more than an hour). My family with two young kids were abandoned middle of the night asking to us find a way to get home. We were 60 miles away from home and had to pay for the taxi to get home. It doesn;t matter what cover/ policy you have bought from them, they won't provide the service according to their policy citing covid rules. What's the point buying a breakdown cover if company can't help the customer to get home? Won;t recommend this company for anyone. Spend little extra and buy a cover from reputed company. Don;t spend your money on scammers like this. I wish If I can give Zero star. You don;t worth at least one star.

Waited over 4 hours - still waiting. Takes 20+ minutes to get through to them. Recovery is with a 3rd party, who also don't answer.
