Previous contact with RIAS has been good or very good. This time it was not so good. I rang the renewal number given as requested but still had to go through the whole rigmarole of options and then I was given a different number. Eventually the renewal was done well and your chap said he would pass on the need for improvement and the correct number for renewal given. My impression is that Rias is a good company which normally relates well to customers. This was probably an unfortunate hitch. We shall see next time, and in the Motor quote. Alexander Stewart

My car insurance renewal quote was about 12% more than last year. When I rang up to find out why the difference was so large, I was given a discount because I have more than one insurance policy with RIAS. The price reduction was very welcome, but why did I have to ask for it? Why couldn't the renewal letter have included the discount, and made it clear that I am saving money by having more than one policy with RIAS. I would the have thought far more of the service given by RIAS.

To my home insurance matters were not straightforward and I still have not been given a clear documents to the present, full details, of this insurance. My motor car insurance was straight forward and I am happy with this. Thank you, David Hopkins

got quote over phone. Very good and helpful but when policy arrived,the content was not what i wanted and so i rang up to correct. They then wanted more money but efficently they are looking into mistake and am waiting to hear. All dealt with very professionally plus spoke to uk persons both times.

I cancelled my policy days ago because i got a better deal elsewhere. I am still waiting for someone to contact me to tell me when my payment will be re-embursed to my credit card. Im Mrs Moss not Miss.

Was horrified how much my car premium had gone up, but it was reduced a bit when I complained. No time to look elsewhere with also moving house and going on holiday. Very annoyed that you cannot give me any idea of what you will charge to insure our proposed new home until we have exchanged contracts and when move house. Not exactly helpful

Next month will be the 3rd year I have used REAS for my Home & Building insurance.The cost is reasonable ,the only problem I had was the time taken to fix my boiler when it broke down.

I had a phone call to say your system had crashed and therefore my renewal notice had not been sent. I paid my renewal premium over the phone to the agent who rang me. No problems, but 8 days later I have received my renewal notice, but not my renewal. Your system needs looking at!

Surprised by the increase in the premium of over 30% from last year and had to negotiate a reduction. The premium was still a 17% increase which was as much as I was prepared to accept.

I obtained a £30 pound reduction on the original quote after contacting 2 other companies. This is normal, the original renewal quote is always high!

I am presently in China so my son had to renew my car insurance for me as Rias would not allow me to renew before I left the UK although I contacted them by phone. Also they have no online facility for renewal. Now my son says my premium has risen by almost 20% even though there have been no claims. I will need to renew my future needs when I return to the UK on April 12th.

I felt that the customer service advisors were not really very friendly and we're certainly not top of their game on customer service. To be honest I felt like a bit of a nuisance. I only stayed with Rias as when I took off the hire car, it took my insurance quote down, and it saved me the hassle of changing company. They just kept quoting the benefits that I had with Rias, which I would automatically have with another company. At one point the difference in the quotes was £5 and your advisor seemed to have no power to even bring the quote down by such a small amount. He seemed happy to lose a customer for such a small amount.

I did not purchase the insurance online, nor do I think I ever would. I would always prefer to speak to a person in this country. Not a robot.

The rating normal is given as from 1984 we cannot remember having had a claim, however this has not stopped the costs rising every year and t his year have increased by £44.00. I am now 93 years old and housebound so the house is never empty. It is also stated that this house was built in 1946, which is not the information I gave having been informed that the properties in this avenue were built in the 1960's The property is built on a hill and and never liable to flooding. Alternative quotes are being sought

As a loyal multi-insurer wuith RIAS, (2 cars and our house) we do find it galling that your raise the premiums significantly every year (despite no claims) and that the people we discuss this with on the phone are never aware that we use RIAS for property as well as cars, or that we are no claimers, old customers etc. or that, as loyal customers, we should perhaps be treated with a little politeness and consideration rather than with bored patronising .....
